Would You Rather? Halloween Edition is frightfully fun and dreadfully exciting with a gamifying twist to the typical question and answer format. My family and I absolutely loved this Halloween Edition and all of the spooky themes sections and questions. This is an excellent staple for any Halloween night with family and friends.

What a fun blast of Halloween nostalgia! This would-you-rather book is perfect for middle grade readers, but I had a fantastic time answering the questions as an adult, too.

The prompts are creative, clever, and perfectly capture the spooky, playful spirit of the holiday. It's an excellent choice for a family activity or game book to get everyone excited for the Halloween season.

This Would You Rather contains fun Halloween centered questions and a good amount of rounds to play as a group. I think this is a fun game to have for the spooky season. Definitely in the younger age range of kids around 8 to 12 who could easily play this on their own. Definitely a fun and lighthearted game to play and not scary. Great for kids who might be scared but want to join in the Halloween fun.

I have to credit my children with putting the Would You Rather series on my radar years ago. They passed many car rides giggling and talking through wild scenarios. Anytime kids are grabbing a book instead of a screen count me in. So, when I saw this ARC I couldn't resist reading it even though adding another book was probably the last thing I needed to do. 🤷🏻‍♀️Ah, what's one more, right?

In this version we have spooktastic Halloween questions that will have readers pondering off the wall ideas. The good, the ghostly, and the grossest are all represented. Let's face it the gross questions are always the ones they like best and get the biggest laughs. I've also found these books to be good for helping more reserved kids join in. The intended ages are 8-12 but I'll tell you from personal experience once someone starts reading aloud from one of these everyone starts weighing in with their two cents including adults. It's almost impossible not to join the discussion.

A few questions felt a little repetitive, but it wasn't a big deal.

A fun Halloween activity that doesn't veer into anything scary.

Would You Rather? Halloween Edition by Lindsey Daly is a total hit for spooky season fun! Packed with lighthearted and silly questions, this book is perfect to get everyone talking—and laughing! Whether you're with kids, friends, or family, the playful “would you rather” format makes it super easy to spark conversations and keep the mood festive. The questions are just the right mix of gross (although, there are not too many gross ones), goofy, and creative, making it ideal for parties, classrooms, or cozy nights in.

I'll admit: I did not know that there was a "proper" way to use this book in its game/winner format, as my family always just reads the questions out loud to each other and takes turns answering, but it would be fun to give that option a go in the future. Overall, this book is a fun, interactive pick that brings people together and keeps the Halloween spirit going strong! Thanks, NetGalley!

This book is designed to be played as a game consisting of 8 rounds of 20 questions each. Each Halloween themed round covers topics ranging from Halloween candy to monsters and spooky places. Many of the questions will be thought provoking to children, while some of the sillier ones are sure to get a giggle and others will have them saying “Ewww!”. I’m excited to get my nieces and nephews together to read and play the Would You Rather? Halloween Edition this fall!

This is a cute collection of Would You Rather questions themed for the spooky season. I would say that these questions are good for 3rd to 6th graders. There are a variety of sections that Monsters and Food. My grandkids loved some of the questions and we had a ton of fun, giggles and groans. A great addition to the series.

This spooky-fun book is packed with 160+ Halloween-themed “Would You Rather?” questions perfect for kids ages 8 to 12. From haunted houses and creepy costumes to candy corn and mummies, it challenges young readers to think creatively, speak persuasively, and laugh along the way. It’s a screen-free way to entertain kids at Halloween parties while waiting for trick-or-treaters, or just hanging out on a chilly October night. Whether you're into bats, black cats, or brain-teasing choices, there’s something in here for every Halloween lover.

I picked this one up as an advance copy thinking it might be a fun Halloween surprise for my granddaughter and after flipping through it, I’m certain it will be. What’s especially clever is how it works well in either print or ebook format, with clear instructions, spooky-themed chapters, and plenty of space to keep score. It’s super easy for kids to understand, includes a winner’s certificate to fill out, and would be a hit at any Halloween party. Honestly, even adults would have a blast with this one. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate. Lindsey Daly nails the Halloween vibe, and there are several other themed editions to check out too...just as fun and festive!

Thank you to NetGalley and Zeitgeist for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

"Would You Rather? Halloween Edition" continues the fun of the series with a themed game asking "Would You Rather?" in categories such as Frightening Animals, Spooky Spirits, and Menacing Monsters.

Books in this series are really fun because you can use them in a number of ways- by playing the game outlined in the beginning, as a conversation starter, or as a boredom buster that kids can read through independently or with a friend. I could also see this being fun for teachers to use in the classroom as writing or discussion prompts.

My one complaint is the Rotten Food chapter, which is truly gross and asks questions like "Would you rather be served an eyeball pie or a fingernail casserole?" I get that kids like to talk about gross things, but some of the questions were truly stomach-turning for me, though kids may find it fun. I can't even imagine the conversation it might spark. Pass.

Otherwise, it is a fun book full of interesting and thought-provoking questions and scenarios that will surely help kids and adults alike get into the Halloween spirit.
