This, was the, story of Sera fighting against her parents plan that she was engaged almost at birth to a foreign prince.
She meets a stranger in Cornwall and falls in love but knows nothing more than his first name but like, all good romance story's it all works out in the end
For me the book was slow and went on to longer without much happening

This is a lovely regency era romance. It feels to be on the long side which took away some of the enjoyment but the love between the main characters was pure and sweet.

The premise of this book (plus my general adoration of historical romances) had me requesting this book. Two people meet on the beach and fall for each other, but are promised to someone else. They each decide to break their betrothals, not realizing that they are - in actuality - promised to each other. Hilarity ensues.
However…some of the plot points didn’t work out. Without spoiling it, there were some very not period appropriate relations happening between people who didn’t share last names with each other. That said, Sera’s little sister had me in stitches. And I’d still recommend this for a pool-side read. Just know it’s a lot of reality suspended fluff, and you’ll do just fine.
Additionally, many thanks to Net Galley, the publisher, and the author for sending me an ARC copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I liked that the story follows along with Stan's and Thea's as they are Alex's siblings. Sera is a feisty female who doesn't want to do what her parents want, but still tells them she will obey their will. The book moved too slow for me which surprised me as I usually really like both Sara and Tanya's books. It was a nice romance and others might enjoy it.

I really enjoy a regency era. This one was good , not my favorite of the summer but the perfect pick me up. The plot was very unique and I loved the back and forth between the characters. Third person POV.

This story is connected to Sara’s medical series. I will say, this book didn’t have the issue that I mainly with her books that they can be repetitive and the characters act very young. I thought the first half of the book flowed well. The issue I have with the story telling this time is that it took them too long to figure out the twist. But after that it was high adventure to close out the book. There was no third act break up which I LOVED. They solved and dealt with things together, seriously appreciated that.
Can’t wait to read the next one!

A little bit like a Historical Grease....
Seraphina "Sera" is promised to a prince in a business arrangement. She is at the Cornish coast one last time before her wedding. Prince Alexander "Alex" is enjoying his last taste of freedom before an arranged marriage.
As Alex and Sera they have their time but all too soon, Prince Alexander and his secret identity won't be so secret.

I was excited about reading this romance by two of my favorite authors, but like a souffle in the oven when the door is opened too soon, it deflated rather quickly. I found it hard to relate to the plot, although the main characters were rather enjoyable. They were both keeping secrets, but did not realize that it was the same secret, right until the very end, which frustrated me. Fortunately, the novel does come to a sweet conclusion and is a standalone. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Two of my very favorite authors come together to create this story of Alex and Seraphina. In a uniquely original concept, each author writes every other chapter. This is the second book of its type and both books are fantastic. Seraphina is at the beach and meets Alex. They are both drawn to each other, yet betrothed to other people. It has the sense of "An Affair to Remember" with it's own twists. Both characters are well developed with depth of being able to be relatable to the reader. The plot is uplifting, light and airy. A risk for two well known authors as their writing styles have both similarities and differences. What I like the most, is the risk these authors take to move a bit away from the expected while still coloring in the lines of historical romance. Well Done, Ladies! I highly recommend both books and encourage others authors to be as creatively original.

Struggled to finish.
I’m sorry but the sheer idiocy of Chapter 12 ruined the remainder of the book for me. I didn’t understand why Sera would risk giving herself to a man she only knows by his first name. She doesn’t know what his last name is, where he lives or how he supports himself. I know she wants to get rid of her betrothed but if the fact that she was unchaste leaked out the scandal would not only have ruined her (with her parents perhaps disowning her) but would affect her twelve year old sister’s future too. If she doesn’t know how to contact Alex she could have been living on the streets. And Alex, who is full of honour and duty? Why would he ruin Sera before getting out of his engagement? For two people supposedly in love, I didn’t understand why they didn’t trust each other to tell their individual truths before parting.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story requires a heavy suspension of disbelief and really utilizes the misunderstanding trope because two people who meet on a beach decide to not tell each other their names … even as they met unchaperoned, again and again, flirt, kiss, and have their first time in a sea cave. Then they have days of not seeing each other as they both head to London — Sera to tell the Prince she doesn’t want to marry him, Alex to break up with his betrothed, and wouldn’t you know it … they *just* keep missing one another.
Still, it’s light, fluffy and harmless. The relationship is well established, and while the world building is given only the barest nod to historical mores and societal restrictions, it also isn’t too modernized. If you’re looking for inoffensive entertainment that … really isn’t anything more than entertaining, this book might work for you.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC.

While the novel delivers everything a historical romance lover craves—sharp dialogue, emotional depth, and a swoon-worthy hero—the pacing occasionally lags, making some sections feel longer than necessary. A tighter narrative might have heightened the tension and urgency, but overall, this is a thoroughly enjoyable read for fans of scandalous intrigue.

Lady Seraphina Lyndon thoroughly enjoys summer on the Cornish coast, but this year's escape is shadowed by an impending arranged marriage to a foreign prince, which is a union crucial for her father's business. Her heart is captivated by a mysterious stranger she meets on the beach and knows only as Alex. Soon their kisses turn to more, leaving her wondering whether she can abide by her father’s rule and marry the prince. Unbeknownst to Sera, Alex is Prince Alexander, the very man she's pledged to marry. Both are desperate to escape their duties and be together, but their hidden identities and looming commitments threaten to shatter their blossoming romance.
This was a slow-burn romance that builds in intensity midway through the book. The authors cleverly manage to draw out the story so that Alex and Sera are unaware of each other’s true identities. This concept made for an entertaining read and kept me reading this in one sitting.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Dragonblade Publishing for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
This was slow paced but enjoyable.

If you're looking for a sweet and charming love story "How to Lose a Prince This Summer" is an excellent choice. It's an enchanting story of love in a beautiful seaside town in Cornwall with a humorous case of mistaken identity. Sera & Alex meet quite by chance when he rescues her after she's swept off a low rock at the beach by a rough wave. The banter between them is so endearing. There's an instant attraction between them, and they grow closer during secret meetings on their final days in Cornwall. They're both distraught by their parents' insistence that they follow through with a betrothal set up when they were children, but only the reader knows that Sera & Alex are betrothed to each other! They didn't tell each other their full names so they didn't realize the person they fell in love with is the person they're betrothed to.
Sera & Alex make plans to meet up in London after they're able to break their betrothal agreements, at which point the reader is shaking their head at the silly couple. But it all turns out to be a darling fairytale of a story with just the right amount of angst to be fun. I finished the book with a smile on my face and felt it was time well spent.
Thank you Dragonblade Publishing for providing the ARC.

the details in this book are spot on. i can see the scenes in my minds eye and it transported me to each chapters and each scene.
this is such a brilliant book. the premise because done so well has a great feel to it which made it feel all the more original. the characters all came alive right from the start.
it was a beautiful story that was oh so easy to read. and i mean that in the best of ways. you just slip in and are there, sat, not going to move because now your involved in this book, haha!
its brings us two characters weighted with duty. the one their parents have arranged and that being their future ie marriage.
but then they fall in love. now they face the worse agony of knowing they are bound to another, its is their duty to marry who they have been set to do so. each know they cant. not now.they know now they must end these engagements.
buuuuut neither of our pair know that the love of their life is indeed the ones they are set to marry. hurrah!
the banter. the mystery. the way its told and played out was spot on. just what i needed and could have wished for from this book.
if this is part of a series i cant wait to go find more as this was a true delight for me.

A summertime romance that starts on the beaches of Cornwell and ends in the thick of society of London..
This was an amazing story from the beginning to the end.. with the light banter to the mystery and the happily ever after..
Sera and Alex meet by chance in Cornwell they think they are just meeting common people and they plan on breaking up with what they think is a future dreaded arranged marriage by their parents however once they meet they realize that, fate brought them together that day on the beach..
One thing I did love was the details and how I felt like I was transported to beach..
I can't wait to see the rest of this series!!

Sera is betrothed to a Prince that she has never met and she wants her freedom to live her own life.
She meets a fun guy named Alex in Cornwall and falls in love. Never fully sharing their names, they become caught up in hidden identities.
They promise to meet in London so she has time to break her engagement.
Alex the Prince also wants to cancel the engagement to the unknown woman as he has fallen in love .
This is a fun romp with two people, romance, and funny circumstances.
Loved how easy it is to read and laugh. Truly enjoyable.

A wonderful story, light and romantic. Alex and Sera are betrothed to each other but find their love before they meet unknown on a beach and their destiny begins to unfold. A journey of love, where only love matters.

Lady Seraphina is engaged to a prince but she falls in love with a stranger so she tries to break off the engagement. Prince Alexander falls in love with a beauty who doesn't know his royal identity and he tries to break off his engagment with another woman.... Neither knowing that their engagement is with each other....
Love Sera and Alex together. Love a swoony prince and a sweet but smart heroine.... Very romantic and a lovely read.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
