The Martian Sentence was a great read. Everything from the storyline, the setting and the strong character development all were awesome. I think this is a fun read for readers of all genres, but especially if you enjoy sci-fi and speculative fiction. It was fast-paced and engaging book that will keep you turning the pages!

Intriguing premise and I liked the opening chapter, but clunky dialogue heavy on exposition quickly turned me off

I liked the premise of the book but thought the story was more than a little hard to believe. I tried to get into the book but thought there needed to be more background.

I’m always interested in stories that are set on Mars, but The Martian Sentence didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Set up as a battle between archaeologist Geoff Manwaring and billionaire explorer Angar Einstok, the story kicks off when Manwaring finds an ancient artefact of world-changing importance.

I found the dialogue to be quite stilted and unnatural, which prevented me from really connecting with the characters. I do think things improved once we were on Mars, but that doesn’t happen until around half way though. And although I found the reading experience easier one we were on the red planet, I wanted more atmospheric description of both the landscape and the conditions that the astronauts were living in. This is likely just an issue of the writing style not working for me personally though!

This book is perfect for every sci-fi/space opera lover out there! The background of Mars was wonderfully written and the tense battle of good vs evil kept me engaged.

Ok this one has such a cool premise and the cover is unique as well.

I am a huge sci fi fan and I also enjoy space horror so this looked like something I would enjoy.

I have a few things I really do not like in books, and one of them is long chapters, especially if they go back and forth between POVs, time periods, etc. I reallly want my books to have shorter paragraphs when possible and shorter chapters as I have noticed this keeps my brain engaged. This book has two chapters to start with that are LONG (my ereader showed 19 minutes for the first one and 10 for the second, where I am used to 3-5 minute chapters on average or 12 minutes when an important chapter is placed in with context and details, I cannot give page numbers as I only have location numbers for this book due to formatting).

I liked the writing style so I initially figured I would just try to ignore the chapter length, but it increasingly became an issue for me.

If really long chapters do not bother you, you might love this one! That was my biggest peeve with this one, and I know it's a personal preference. It just prevented me from getting into the book.

Thank you for approving me for this eARC. I appreciate the opportunity to leave honest feedback voluntarily.
