I'd give this a solid 3.5! It was a fun read. I found myself getting annoyed with the FMC at times, only because I could relate a little too much (trying to help a family member just to be told 'doing what you're doing, e.g. nothing, is enough'). Would recommend!

The story follows Regan Fletcher, a woman living a life of gilded confinement. Her dreams of college, art, and inheriting her father's business are shattered by his sudden illness and an inexplicable need to keep her isolated within their mansion. Regan yearns for more than just waiting; she craves life beyond her gilded cage. Her world is irrevocably shaken when she comes face-to-face with a street biker – a man from a world entirely foreign and dangerous. What begins as unsettling stalking spirals into something far deeper and undeniably deadly. Regan finds herself drawn to a man who embodies everything she should fear, yet he's the only one who makes her feel truly alive. The stakes are astronomically high: loving him means risking her heart, her future, and perhaps even her father.
Rook Emberson, a man utterly consumed by revenge. For years, he has meticulously plotted the downfall of Cameron Fletcher, Regan's father, who he believes stole everything from him. When fate delivers Cameron's daughter into his sights, Rook sees her as the perfect weapon, the key to unlocking Cameron's destruction. But from the moment he encounters Regan, his carefully constructed plans begin to unravel. She is an unforeseen complication, a captivating force that challenges his core motivations. What started as a twisted game of vengeance quickly transforms into a consuming obsession. Rook finds himself trapped between two powerful desires: his burning need to destroy Cameron Fletcher, and his unexpected, undeniable need for Regan.
I highly recommend this book to fans of bad boy and good girl tropes, intricate enemies-to-lovers arcs, and stories with darker undertones.

This was a blast and everything I look for in a dark romance with humor. I loved Rook and his crew, the very humor was just up my alley. There was great plot and great spice! I’m very excited to continue the series

I heard quite a few things about this book and immediately knew this one was going to be a favorite. This is my first time reading this particular author's work and I absolutely devoured the story. The writing is very easy to follow and immerse yourself in while giving room for the characters to grow on you as individuals. One other element of the book that gripped me from start to finish was the romance. The author did a phenomenal job of hooking you with the main protagonists and their troubled pasts, which built a lot of sizzling tension in their relationship. I highly recommend this read for anyone who likes their romance reads slightly dark and steamy.

Was it good? Yes. Will I read the next book in the series? Also yes. Would I recommend it? Probably not. For someone who reads an absolute ton of books a year this was a fun, spicy biker romance. It wasn't anything groundbreaking or incredible. I enjoyed the story, the writing, and the characters. I will look forward to more from Kate Crew.

A revenge-driven plot with a high spice level and a possessive hero. Rook has a choice between his desire for revenge against Cameron and his growing connection with Cameron's daughter, Rebel. Does rook choose Rebel, or does he choose his lifelong goal of avenging his parents' death? For readers who enjoy a blend of spice, possessive male leads, and a morally complex "revenge love story," Rebel sounds like a perfect fit!

Great dark romance comedy! The protagonist is sassy and her man is literally a ride-or-die biker gangster mechanic. They have great banter and are about as healthy as dark romance can get. This book does not have very much violence compared to many current dark romance books, which is something I personally appreciate. These two main characters are just obsessed with each other which often leads to some amazing smoldering and unique spicy moments together in public.

Kate Crew weaves a world full of shadows and secrets, where every twist cuts deep and every choice carries weight. The dynamic between the titular duo crackles with chemistry—equal parts banter, betrayal, and longing. I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough, and by the end, I was both heartbroken and completely satisfied. A bold, beautiful debut that proves Crew is one to watch.
