The Love Audit sets up a workplace rivals-to-lovers romance with fake marriage antics and small-town charm, but it didn’t fully land for me.
Miller’s Cove and the delightfully loyal dog were the true highlights—both added warmth and personality that carried the story. The romantic beats were fine, but the comedy promised in the setup never really appeared, and the corporate intrigue didn’t deliver enough tension to keep me invested.
It’s a fast, easy read with a few bright spots, but overall it didn’t rise above average for me.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Jasmine and Derek might not get along both in and out of the workplace, but they are forced to pose as an engaged couple in a small town for a work project. With different motives, Jasmine and Derek are after the same information for different reasons, which leads to finding out more about each other and the small town of Miller’s cove than either one of them expected.
Derek and Jasmine could banter like no other, which made for a funny and engaging slow burn romance between them. Both characters were unique and Lucy Eden tying the story to an important historical event was unexpected but so interesting!

This book gave me all three of my favorite tropes(enemies to lovers, fake engagement and forced proximity) and I was obsessed from the very first page!!!
In this story we are following Jasmine Morgan and Derek Carter who were once like family, but something happened between their parents that changed their relationship forever and turned them into enemies. The two end up together on competing projects in a small town called Miller’s Cove to gain the trust of the locals and to save their job they must act as newlyweds in this sultry rom com.
What I loved about this book was how swoon-worthy, witty and tender it was. The slow burn chemistry between Jasmine and Carter was everything I found myself yelling at the book a good twenty times “just kiss already” even when they were “enemies” you could still feel the passion and fire between them it literally had me giggling and kicking my feet the whole time I was reading. I’m obsessed with great banter and the banter between them gave me life!!! The writing was playful, tension-filled and sensual. Jasmine was my girl- she was funny, determined, and fierce. Her being a PR strategist made me love her character even more. Derek is definitely getting added to my book boyfriend list!!! He was charming, thoughtful and protective and he wears glasses that’s a man after my own heart. The history behind how Miller Cove was founded and how it tied to the Tulsa Massacre added such a richness to the story that I deeply appreciated. But that plot twist about their parents had me floored it was something straight out of a scene from One Life to Live!!!
I can’t recommend this book enough!!! If you love enemies to lovers, fake engagement , forced proximity and cute dogs this is the book for you!!

Thank you to Forever for the advance reader copy of The Love Audit by Lucy Eden!!
Jasmine and Derek are workplace rivals who are both working on competing projects in small town, Miller’s Cove. Both end up pretending to be together as they develop their project proposals.
I have waited for Lucy Eden’s next book!! I LOVE a workplace romance! Jasmine and Derek’s families used to be friends with each other which added history when these two end up reunited as coworkers. This story is packed with more tropes like childhood friends, forced proximity and fake engagement. When he buys them RINGS!! And thank goodness Derek brings his dog on this trip! I loved Tora! Our MCs had great tension and chemistry. I picked up this book and didn’t stop reading until I was done - this story kept me engaged from the romance, workplace rivalry, to the revelations. I also loved the characters we got to meet in Miller’s Cove.
I highly recommend this romance!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.
