This is well-paced and engaging. My favorite part is the character of Ethan - I would read more books with him. Cornwell does a good job of keeping up the tension in this book even though we know what the killer (puppet-master) is doing, which can be hard to do. I give this one 3.5 stars rounded up. I hope he writes more with Ethan Marshall as the MC.
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for an advance copy of this audiobook for review.

Copy Kill Repeat is unlike any thriller I’ve read recently—smart, sharp, and completely unpredictable. Steve Cornwell takes a bold concept and runs with it, delivering a story that’s equal parts twisted, clever, and unsettlingly believable.
From page one, the pace is relentless. The writing is tight but never rushed, and the dark humor woven throughout gives it a unique edge that sets it apart from standard thrillers. Cornwell has a knack for keeping you off-balance—just when you think you’ve figured out what’s going on, the story flips again, and you realize you’ve been led exactly where he wanted you.
The plot explores the darker side of identity, imitation, and the stories we tell ourselves—and others. It’s a thriller that doesn’t just entertain, but also makes you think, without ever feeling heavy-handed.
If you’re tired of formulaic plots and want something that really messes with your head (in the best way), this one’s for you. Bold, biting, and brilliantly executed.

I had a hard time staying invested in this one. It was a good straightforward crime novel. A bit like reading a Criminal Minds episode. I think I might have enjoyed it more if I hadn’t done audio, which is unusual for me.

The storyline of this book was really interesting! It had a slow start but it ended up picking up and keeping me hooked. My one big complaint though was with the narration. The narrator had the same tone the whole time and made it the story less enjoyable in my opinion. I definitley recommend getting this one in a different format than audio.

A dark psychological thriller, featuring a twisted and deadly cat-and-mouse game.
</i>’London is gripped by terror as a mastermind recreates history’s most gruesome murders—without ever dirtying his hands. Paramedic Tom Freedman recruits his killers from the shadows of the internet, manipulating the broken and desperate to carry out his deadly vision.’</i>
This thriller is told through multiple perspectives, and I think it might have worked better if there were more than one narrator. I found it difficult at times to distinguish which perspective I was listening to. There are aspects of the story that are online chats, although this was not easy to follow in the audiobook format. I think that additional audio production would be beneficial, to allow listeners to distinguish that it is from an online chat.
I enjoyed the premise of this story, although some editing would make for a better audiobook experience.
With thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an advanced listening copy, in exchange for an honest review.

Pretty good thriller, a little predictable for me but I alread a ton of thrillers so it can be hard to keep me guessing. Nonetheless, it did keep me on the edge of my seat, and thats what matters! Excellent narration too!

A good thriller read! I enjoyed the detectives and the professor. I would like to know more about them professors’s back story. The bad guy was interesting though some things were left unexplained. Hoping it becomes a series!

Copy, Kill, Repeat is the story of a serial killer who copies different murders from different serial killers for each of their own kills. It's up to the London police, with the help of ex-criminologist Ethan Marshal to figure out who is behind it and stop them. I will say, the audio book was kind of hard to follow. It was often hard to tell when the narrator was switching characters and that threw me off on quite a few occasions. Other than that, the story was good. You as the reader know pretty early on who the killer is and follow their plot line as well as the detective's plot line concurrently. This was a quick read. Though I probably actually would have liked it to be just a little bit longer. This is a great book for lovers of true crime.

Fairly decent plot set up, but characters are not well drawn, and it drags near the end. A little editing would have improved the read..

I wanted to like this book, and maybe if I read it instead of listening to it, I would. I just did not like the narrator's very robotic voice. It almost seemed computer generated. I'm sorry, but I did not finish it because of this. Maybe I will try reading it later on instead.

I really like the premise of this book! I believe I may have enjoyed reading this book on my kindle a bit more than I did listening to the audiobook. The book starts off with a text conversation that I had to listen to a couple of times to understand what was going on. It wasn’t very clear. Once I figured out what was going on, I found the book to be fast-paced and interesting. I got through it quickly. Overall, I thought this was a solid psychological thriller. I liked the twist, but the ending felt a bit rushed. I still recommend checking this book out if you like psychological thrillers involving a twisted deadly game. Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing me with this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley, Dreamscape Media and Steve Cornwell for the audio Arc of Copy, kill, Repeat.
Narrated by Gareth Richards.
This is my first book by Steve Cornwell and made for a quick, medium paced read with a slightly different premise to a lot of murder mystery thrillers. We have a killer who recruits and grooms likeminded people into doing his dirty work. A damaged Criminologist dragged from his lectures to help with the investigations. A rouge copy cat killer and a few grudges to boot. What could possibly go wrong, or right?!
I flew through this audio version, thanks to both the writer's engaging style of writing and Gareth's storytelling voice. The plot line and premise delivered exactly what I wanted, a quick engaging read, with great characters that feel real and flawed.I loved the whole cat and m ouse dance that our MMC, Tom and Ethan have with them trying to outsmart. each other, I will be looking out for more books from Steve Cornwell in the future,

This one looked like it belonged in my usual masked-man/dark romance lane… but surprise! It’s actually a crime thriller. And that’s on me for not reading the blurb. 😅
The premise is undeniably intriguing — a serial deleter who doesn’t commit the crimes himself but manipulates others online to recreate real-life murders. That twist? Brilliant. But the execution fell a bit flat for me. It felt repetitive, low-tension, and I found myself struggling to stay engaged.
Audio thoughts: Only one narrator for a multi-POV story with a big cast was a bit rough. The voices didn’t differentiate enough, and the pacing was tricky (1.25x was too slow, 1.5x too fast on NetGalley’s player). Also, I didn’t realize some of the “dialogue” was meant to be online chats — a “bing” or some audio cue could’ve helped a LOT.
While this wasn’t for me (detective thrillers are just starting to feel a little same-same), I can see it appealing to those really into crime fiction and serial killer lore.
Not my usual genre — but always good to try something new, right?

3.75 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Immediately hooked by the title and cover of the book and was so excited to jump into this one. The narration on the audible book was tough to get through and made the book less appealing. I will try to read this one in print because the storyline has so much potential.
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape media for the early audible arc.

I thoroughly enjoyed Copy Kill Repeat! If this is Steve Cornwell’s debut, he’s off to a really strong start. The story was fast-paced, engaging, and had a chillingly clever twist with the serial killer element—especially the idea of one manipulative mastermind orchestrating others to do his bidding. It kept me hooked from beginning to end.
The pacing was strong, and the plot moved quickly without dragging, which made for an addictive read. I’m really hoping this turns into a series—or at least that his next book is somehow connected, because I’d love to explore more in this world or see some characters return.
My only critique is the ending. The resolution around catching the leader of the group felt a bit rushed and anticlimactic. I would’ve loved a little more tension, dialogue, or psychological sparring during that final confrontation. It was over too quickly, which slightly dulled the payoff. Still, this was a great thriller and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for Steve Cornwell’s future books. Highly recommend for fans of fast, twisty thrillers with a dark edge.

This is a fast paced, high energy, psychological thriller; very similar to the Dr. Evan Wilding series (which I adore). You have a brilliant criminologist, a headstrong female detective with something to prove, and a mastermind villain hiding in plain sight.
The story itself is gripping, and feels like you’re watching an episode of your favorite crime procedural. The chapters are short, so you genuinely feel like you are flying through the book and you could easily read this in one sitting.
As I was listening to the audiobook, I will say I became confused every so often with regards to whose POV I was in. I think the narrator did a wonderful job, but it definitely requires a bit of concentration to differentiate when you’re in the thick of it.
My only real gripe with the book is the alluding to a romantic connection. It felt simultaneously forced and out of nowhere. These people just met, but they’re already infatuated with each other?
Overall, I’d definitely recommend this as a quick read and I hope there’s more to come!
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was super addictive!! It takes a really talented author to be able to give the culprit away early on in a novel and still manage to keep the readers attention the rest of the way through the book. This author is clearly very talented and has a strong knack for that particular writing style! Definitely an author id like to read more of in the future!

Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.
While I was genuinely looking forward to this one, especially as a fan of thrillers and mysteries, I unfortunately found it difficult to connect with the story. The pacing and plot felt somewhat predictable for me, and I had a hard time staying fully engaged.
Additionally, I struggled with the narration, primarily due to the thick accent, which made it hard for me personally to follow along and stay immersed. That said, I truly appreciate the effort put into both the writing and the performance. I know not every book will be the right fit for every listener, and this one simply didn’t quite land for me.
I’m still very grateful for the chance to listen, and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for

Wish the narrator was better. The narration was off for me so it made the book seem very blah even if by the end it was a good book.

I really could not get into this one for the life of me. The narrator really did not work for me at all and it just made it hard to truly focus on the storyline.
