What’s Yours is Mine is a super juicy, fun popcorn read with characters you love to hate. I could not get enough of this story of ambition, lies, and control. Narration was excellent and engaging. Such an entertaining listen.

ALC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I found this character driven suspense novel to be completely addicting. The multi POVs really aided in the character development. I highly recommend this one.

This was my first book by this author, and I was thoroughly impressed!

The audio production was stellar. I thought it made the story even better.

This one is deeply unsettling on an emotional and psychological level, as it immerses us in the high-stakes world of competitive dance — complete with fierce rivalries among dance moms and a gripping exploration of complex mother-daughter relationships.

The tension crackles throughout; jealousy simmers just beneath the surface, while manipulation, obsession, and sabotage unfold in truly shocking ways.

I especially appreciated the rich characterization and the use of multiple POVs, which offer nuanced insights from both the daughters and their parents.

With all its messy drama, this story is as addictive as it is unpredictable — pulling you in and keeping you hooked right up to the final page.

This is a story about mothers and daughters, and the price that dreams and ambitions can extract from the dreamers.

Kate and Colette are best friends and gifted dancers, who both aspire to reach great heights. But only Collette has a determined and ambitious mother (who Kate also adores), who will do anything to see her succeed. So, when Kate unexpectedly outshines Collette, sparks are bound to fly...

A perceptive and absorbing story, this one is worth reading. The narrator also does an excellent job with the audiobook. My only gripe was the strange pronunciation of Colette's name!

The writer ties up loose ends with impressive skill and delivers a final twist that is guaranteed to please readers.

“She had been a mother for fifteen years and this is what she knew about parenting: nothing…”

Valerie is a hardworking single mother who will do anything for her daughter, Kate. Kate and her best friend, Colette, both have big dreams of dancing. Kate has a special bond with Colette’s mom, Elise, who is a former ballerina. Though Valerie appreciates this, it’s also frustrating. Especially because Elise is also married to the man Valerie is secretly longing for. When Kate outshines Colette onstage, tensions go from high to wild!

When this book came to us at The Pulse, the storyline immediately spoke to me.I may not know much about ballet, but I do know about intense moms! LOL, add in a mystery and I was sold. Simply put, this book was a wild, entertaining ride. I wasn't sure how any of it was going to play out but I was absolutely gripped by Kate and Colette, and especially their mothers. The jealousy, the tension and the comparison were all leaping off the pages and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. This was the first book I read by Jennifer Jabaley but I can’t wait to see what she does next.

”What’s Yours is Mine” is out NOW! This review will be shared to my instagram blog (@books_by_the_bottle) shortly :)

This was a propulsive blend of dance mom drama, competition among friends with jealousy, and some downright crazy behavior.

There is so much tension woven into these pages. Whether it is between mother and daughter, best friends, husband and wife, everyone is at odds at some point, all driven by the fervent need to succeed in the dance world.

The desire and ambition to be the best becomes an obsession, leading some to take extreme actions. We're talking about pulling a Tonya Harding (if you know, you know). The author takes us on a roller coaster ride of dance rivalry and domestic turmoil that is as unpredictable as it is thrilling.

Controlling mothers, best friends-now-rivals, suspense, and a look at the dark side of the demanding dance world - this story will keep you on your toes!

🎧 The audiobook is a great companion to the physical book. Narrated by Ann Marie Gideon, she captured all the characters so well, with the varying tones and emotions, adding an extra layer of suspense and tension.

This slow-burn thriller/drama really ate! I was hooked from start to finish!

It follows two families of two girls gunning for the best dance spot - leading to scholarships, dance schools, etc. However, this also showed how dirty these competitions can really get!

ummm... Dance Moms, who?! Whew!
This is a book where a parent is trying to live vicariously through children in an unhealthy way.
We have two dancers and best friends. We also have two Moms - one who is completely unhinged in that Dance Moms sort of way, and another who is just trying to have a relationship with her child.
There are 4 POVs: Valerie, Kate, Colette, and Elise.
You get to see how toxic these environments can be for both the parents and the dancers in this book! It's so crazy!
I wanted to smack Elise for most of the book. I loved Kate - working hard for what she wanted. Felt bad for Colette trying to please her Mother (Elise). I also felt a bit sad for Valerie, trying to connect with Kate and understand why she loved dance as much as she did in the book.
The book is wild and chaotic from start to finish! It was my first book that featured dance so prominently, and I didn't mind it!
The plot is well structured, and the pace is good. I do think the conclusion of the book is a bit rushed, but I still enjoyed it.
The characters are developed and engaging.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity read and review this ARC!
Happy Reading!

This was a fun twisty thriller, heavier on the drama less on the thriller aspect. It starts with friendly competition and spirals into obsession and rivalry…

I got confused sometimes keeping up with all the female characters but the female narrator was very enjoyable ! Wasn’t my fave but did like some aspects of the story for sure

Wow! This book was so enjoyable! I listened to it and I did not want to stop listening! The end I did not see coming at all! Set in the cut throat world of dance this book had it all, friendship, ambition, rivalry, and dance mamas that will do anything to help their daughter succeed. It explores relationships, the role of social media, jealousy, sabotage, and what happens when a lie from the past is revealed in a gripping story. It also explores privacy and if your private thoughts and feelings written in your diary can be used to determine guilt. Colette and Kate are dancers on the brink of a break that could make their careers. Best friends for years Kate spends a lot of time with Colette’s family, is dating Trey, Colette’s brother, and idolizes Elise, Colette’s mother who is a former dancer. Valerie, Kate’s mom, is a single mother who has been keeping a secret. She is a nurse that is trying to provide Kate with the best future, does not understand the dance world, and is jealous of Kate’s relationship with Elise. Elise is determined to do whatever it takes for Colette to be successful in dance but how far will she go? With Colette and Kate’s future at stake will their friendship survive the rivalry? I highly recommend this to readers that enjoy a story of what happens when friendship turns to rivalry.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #BrillancePublishing for the book #WhatsYoursIsMine by #JenniferJabaley. Loved this competitive and engaging book about two girls who just want to dance. Kate and Collette are best friends who are competitive dancers. Their mothers are another story; jealousy, pettiness and sabotaging are all they are about. You have no idea how bad things can get when it’s all on the line.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. What’s Yours is Mine explores the cutthroat world of young, female dancers - and the notorious “dance moms” - and the lengths they will go to in order to ensure their success. It was a decent read with lots of character building.

What’s Yours is Mine
Jennifer Jabaley

In WHAT'S YOURS IS MINE, we are following Valerie. Valerie is jealous of Elise for many reasons. Her daughter Kate adores her; she basically runs the dance school, and she’s married to Andrew who Valerie secretly has a crush on.

There is an upcoming dance competition where Kate is pitted against her best friend, Colette, Elise’s daughter. Suddenly, things at the dance school become very, very serious.

Valerie is messy. There were times while reading that I thought her viewpoint was significant but unnecessary. Being in her head took me out of the story. There was a distance between me and the action. Everything felt second-hand.

Sitting at 395 pages, the book is long, and it felt like it. Take Valerie out and you have a rivals gone reckless young adult novel. I believe it would have been more successful that way.

I'm a big fan of the show "Dance Moms," as well as a big fan of psychological thrillers, so when I saw this audiobook, I knew I had to give it a listen.

I was hooked from the beginning. Somehow, none of the characters are the "good guy," and I liked that. They were all deeply flawed, lying and keeping secrets from one another. Their relationships were poisoned with jealousy and deceit.

If you've spent time in the competitive dance world, you know how catty and vindictive it can be. ESPECIALLY from the mothers- they are often meaner and more cutthroat than their daughters.

I highly enjoyed this audiobook.

Book Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars)
What's Yours Is Mine by Jennifer Jabaley
🎧 Narrated by Ann Marie Gideon

Pop in those earbuds and prepare to be entertained. This is “Dance Moms” meets “Big Little Lies” with a side of “suburban meltdown.” “What’s Yours Is Mine” is deliciously twisted. It’s like I was eavesdropping at a PTA meeting gone rogue. Messy, mean, and full of drama!

Valerie, a single mom and underdog, dreams of her daughter Kate's dance future. She’s got grit, hustle, and a Costco card, but no designer yoga sets or connections in the elite dance world. Then there’s Elise, a former ballerina, who is always stylish. She’s the mom who makes you feel underdressed in your own house.

Valerie does her best to keep it together, but Kate is obsessed with Elise, and things go off the rails quickly. Elise isn’t just intimidating, she’s the master of quiet, passive-aggressive power moves. As the big competition approaches, tensions skyrocket. Colette, Elise’s daughter, starts to fall apart, secrets slip out, and one shocking incident sends everything into chaos.

This book totally channels Tonya Harding vs. Nancy Kerrigan energy. Nobody’s innocent, and you can’t trust a single character.

Ann Marie Gideon absolutely nails the narration, switching between frazzled daughters, ambitious moms, and shady side characters. I could feel the desperation, the drama, and the jaw-dropping moments. I’m excited to check out the next book from this author.

Listen to this if you're into:
* Women behaving badly
* Suburban ambition with a dark twist
* Competitive parenting gone rogue
* Unraveling relationships and high-stakes secrets

WOW. I had the chance to both read and listen to What’s Yours Is Mine, and let me tell you, this story is a total rollercoaster you won’t want to get off. If you’re into drama, obsession, secrets, and fierce mama bear energy... buckle up. This one delivers.
From the very first chapter, this book grabs you and pulls you into the high-stakes, emotionally intense world of competitive dance. It’s about ambition, identity, toxic love, and the pressure to be perfect, all wrapped in a suspense-filled story that constantly kept me guessing. I thought I had it figured out… I didn’t. That ending? Jaw. Dropped.

The drama is REAL. Rivalries, jealousy, hidden pasts, it’s all here. And the way it dives into the complicated dynamics between mothers and daughters? So good. The story unfolds through multiple POVs (Elise, Valerie, and Colette), and every voice adds a layer to the suspense. You’ll love how fleshed-out and real these characters feel flawed, fierce, and unforgettable.

And let’s talk about the audiobook: the narrators nailed it. They brought the intensity, emotion, and tension to life so well that I was literally yelling at my headphones like I was part of the story. 😂 It felt like I was right there, caught in all the chaos and secrets.

What really stood out to me was how the book showed the dark side of ambition—not just for the girls dancing, but for their moms too. It’s about how passion can become obsession, and how the past always finds a way to show up.

This was my first book by @jabaleyjennifer, and now I need to read more. If you love fast-paced, twisty stories with complicated characters and serious drama, What’s Yours Is Mine should be at the top of your list. Highly recommend!

✨What it is about:
A dance rivalry between two mothers and their daughters turns dangerous when jealousy leads to a shocking attack.✨

💭My thoughts:
This was Dance Moms gone wild! Elise is an over the top mom who’s totally obsessed with her daughter’s dance career. She can’t think about anything else except turning her into a star. But that obsession is messing up her relationships with her husband, her son, and even her daughter. Colette, the daughter, feels completely suffocated and starts leaning on her best friend Kate, who dances and trains with her nonstop.
Kate’s mom Valerie is a single parent, and she’s not thrilled about how close Kate is getting to Elise. A lot goes down, and then someone gets attacked…but who’s really to blame?
I couldn’t stand Elise from the start. I’ve never been in the competitive dance world, but I’ve definitely heard how intense it can be, and this book totally captures that energy.
🎧 The audiobook runs a little over 11 hours and is narrated by Ann Marie Gideon. She does an awesome job bringing out the desperation of Kate’s mom, the absolute craziness of Elise, Colette’s inner struggles, and Kate’s fierce determination to chase her dreams. The narration was super clear and kept me hooked the whole time. Definitely a fun listen.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC opportunity!

Honestly, in the beginning, i wasnt sure where it was going or if id like it. It had a slow start. But once the drama started, and things were unraveling, i couldnt stop. It had my attention completely.

I love an unhinged sports story, and this one gave exactly that. Elise is absolutely insane and willing to take her family down with her if she has to. There were times i visibly cringed at her actions. While Andrew and Valerie were in the wrong, she took it so far. And to go after a minor like that? Wild.

What’s Yours is Mine is an emotionally layered domestic suspense that taps into every parent’s worst fear while delivering a compelling story of obsession, identity, and what it means to be truly seen. What makes this novel so effective is the way Jabaley explores the psychology of mothers and daughters. There’s an authenticity to these womens inner worlds, there’s vulnerability, guilt, and desperate need to protect their daughters and that grounds the more chilling elements of the plot. The suspense feels rooted in emotional truth rather than just plot mechanics. This is a slow burn with a payoff, perfect for fans of You by Caroline Kepnes or The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine.

With sharp writing, an escalating sense of dread, and a chilling exploration of rivalry, What’s Yours is Mine is a standout in the psych suspense genre as it explores how far mothers will go for their children.

Didn’t expect it to mess with my head like that. The whole thing has this pressure running underneath — not loud, not dramatic, but steady. If you’re the type who gets a kick out of competition, you'd probably sink right into it. I just kept feeling bad for the girls. That threw me off more than I thought it would.

There were moments where I felt like I was supposed to pick sides or root for someone, but instead I was just… uncomfortable? Not in a bad way, but I couldn’t detach. It felt a bit too real at times, which I guess is the point. But for someone like me who can’t really shut that off, it hit different.

I get why people are into it. It’s tight, it moves fast, and it doesn’t really give you time to coast. I just wish I had been in a different headspace — or a little more ruthless — maybe I would’ve enjoyed it more
