I did not finish this book. I was not expecting the explicit language and sex. I am not saying it was a bad book, just not what I expected. Because I did not finish it, I did not leave a review anywhere as I do not think that is fair to the author.

My FAVORITE two books of 2016! Told absolutely everyone to read it and Her!

My library DID purchase a copy of this book. It was horrible. Caroline Kepnes lost sight of what made You so great in the first place. The name dropping and pop culture references were out of control. It was all very eye rolly.

Unfortunately, the theme, tone and writing style of this book are not for me. Abandoned after 4 chapters. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.

You was a book I read last year and loved. It really stuck with me for a while and I couldn't wait to follow Joe again in Hidden Bodies. I enjoyed this book but not at much as You. I think the shock of reading You and getting to know Joe as a creepy character really made the first book. He kept surprising me as the story developed more and he dug himself into this hole. I was interested to see how Kepnes was going to pick up where the story left off and still make it interesting. To me Joe didn't have the same creepy passion in Hidden Bodies as he did in the You. He also made some silly mistakes that weren't the careful Joe that we knew. Especially since he constantly tortured himself with the mug of piss that was continually mentioned throughout. the plot was ok, but I didn't feel the same connection to the side characters as I did with Beck and Peach. I do love the close look we have with Joe's inner monologue and his voice. I gave it a 4 star rating because I still really enjoyed it, but I just didn't love it as much as the first book.

You was a great read so naturally I had high expectations for Hidden Bodies, unfortunately, they were not met. It would have been best if Caroline Kepnes kept You a standalone. . .

Hidden Bodies is not interesting enough to hold my attention. It's the same as You but much less exciting and original. It reminded me a bit of American Psycho, but that resemblance was very short-lived. I don't feel like reading this anymore, so I am just going to stop reading it and never pick it up again.

I received an ARC of this novel thanks to the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review. My thanks for the opportunity.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE Joe so much. Caroline's writing is some of my very favorite writing, ever. Highly recommend this one!

Caroline Kepnes just has a way with words. This book is beautifully written. The characters are people you love to hate (or love to love?!). The tone is dark and hysterically funny at times. Kepnes has done it again. I can only hope there will be more books from her, I will read everything she writes. I received a copy of the book in exchange for my honest and fair review. All views are my own.
