“This is all that I am… A half-breed. An assassin. I’ll fight any battle by your side. I’ll hunt anyone you wish. I’m yours, if you want me. That is my vow.” - Kasdeja

Let's see if I have everything in order.

Hot angel half-breed? Check.

Super geeky, with sarcasm and crappy jokes to boot? Check.

Computer genius who has a kink for strong women? Check.

Sooooo much hidden potential for more power than he actually knows himself and lets on? Check!

Really, it's no wonder that Kas was my favorite in the series from the previous book, and he continues to be so, the lovable goof with the dark-nature issues~

Kas is the one the evil angel organization is targeting in this book, sending Mariel, a fallen angel herself, to seduce him and tempt him into joining their forces. He's more connected with the bad guys than the others in his team know - we're talking DNA connections here! - and his... connection believes he will be a good addition to the dark side. But what many don't suspect, is that Mariel is a double agent - and Kas is willing to become one, too, if it means ending his creator and protecting his brothers.

I loved this book as much as I loved the first one - maybe even more! Kas was a marvel to read, and even when he was being cornered or questioned by the bad guys, he kept his wits and that sharp as knife sarcasm that we so love him for. Not to mention, that sense of honor and responsibility and self-sacrifice is really sexy on a man, let me tell you!

Mariel was also a wonderful heroine. Unlike Kate, I didn't feel angry at her for keeping her secrets, seeing as she was always watched and had her mission to consider. It was a bit rough when she put Heaven and its representatives above everything else, and how in her eyes the angelic higher-ups could do no wrong, but I foresaw that things would lead right where they did lead in the end concerning that aspect of the story and it sort of made sense - though I felt terrible for being correct on the matter, my heart felt broken for the poor woman...

As a team, and a couple, Kas and Mariel had tons of chemistry! Working together came naturally to them, even if they disagreed on many things, being two very different personalities, but the best part? Their readiness to sacrifice everything each of them held dear, just so the other would be safe and happy. Their goals, their dreams, everything around them, meant nothing if the one they gave their heart to was miserable. And they did it all while respecting each other as warriors and partners.

I'm still waiting for the next book to come out - and I've no doubt it's gonna be as awesome as what I've read so far from this author!

This book includes a lot action, drama, romance, action (yup…already said it, but it's got a lot of action), and a big bombshell. There's even a scene that could bring tears to your eyes. Heck, I'll admit it I cried...dang it. I'm not ashamed.

I give this book 4.5 stars, and highly recommend it to paranormal romance readers out there that enjoy a different take on Angels and Fallen Angels. Let's just say you can't trust any of them, unless you are apart of the Angel Assassins. (The Nephilims who are there to learn the truth)
