Secrets You Can’t Keep will keep you guessing. I did not predict this ending!

This reviewer looked forward to reading Secrets You Can't Keep, book three in the Vera Boyett series, and the novel did not disappoint. I think it's the best of the series so far and hope there are more books planned. Every aspect of the novel is riveting, the characters are well drawn, and the writing is flawless. The plotlines involving multiple murders create especially difficult crimes for Vera and Sheriff Gray Benton to solve, but the pair are relentless in their pursuit of justice. I couldn't put the book down.

For those of us who enjoy a touch of romance in our stories, Vera and Bent's personal relationship grows deeper in this novel, and I absolutely loved that. Author Debra Webb has written many romantic suspense novels, which probably explains the addition of an emotional connection between the protagonists in her standalones.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Secrets You Can't Keep. Recommended.

I have loved all of the Boyett sisters from the beginning of this series, and I am sad to know that there will not be any additional installments in this series.

Bent and Vera find themselves at the center of multiple investigations again, one at a local billionaire's farm and the other at Vera's baby sister Luna's home.

While the suspense and mystery is a great part of this series (Vera is a consultant to law enforcement), my favorite part of this series is the bond that is shared by the Boyett sisters and the lengths that they will go to so that they may protect each other.

This is the last book in the Vera Boyett series, and as always, I loved it. I haven’t read a Debra Webb book yet that I didn’t enjoy, and this one was no different. I really liked getting to see more of Vera’s life, and honestly, I’d love for there to be another book in the series. The side stories added a nice touch too and made the world feel even more real.

Another great read from Debra Webb!

Thank you to netgalley for this ARC copy of this book. I was thrilled to be able to read and book about Vera Boyett. It was just as good as the other two. It was a good story. The twists kept me guessing

I read the first book in the series and enjoyed it, so I had high hopes for this one and it didn’t disappoint. The writing style is easy to follow and I loved how realistic events were. I have a pet peeve when characters are about to do something dangerous and don’t tell/text anyone, but in this book characters updated others on what they are doing or where/with whom they are. I loved that while it was clear from the beginning that characters are involved in the events, it was twisted and wasn’t easy to guess who did what. Definitely one of the better books I’ve read this year.

Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this was the 3rd book in the series!! Now I have to pick up the other 2. Other than that, it was a really good crime thriller read! It was kind of like a closed door murder mystery trope of WHO DUN IT? 2 cases simultaneously happening, it was a crazy ride.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC! 🫶🏽

Fast-paced and full of twists! Webb delivers a gripping small-town mystery where long-buried secrets finally surface. Suspenseful, emotional, and hard to put down.

This was my first Vera book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

This police procedural from Debra Webb ticks all the boxes for a pretty solid read. There are not one, but two independent murders that the police are investigating, so there is definitely a lot going on, but I didn't have trouble keeping it all straight. I do think we could have cut several of the murder victims and this would have been a cleaner, tighter book overall, but what's a mystery without a red herring or seven? I definitely would have preferred to have read the rest of the series, as there is a *lot* of referring back to past events. I appreciate Webb not rehashing past books, as I hate that as a reader that's stuck with a series, but as a new reader I could tell I was missing quite a bit of back-story. So while this is a stand-alone, I would recommend starting at the beginning.

This is by far one of the best mystery thrillers I’ve read. Sometimes I find the investigators unbearable but I absolutely adore Bent and Vera. I didn’t know this was part of a series so I look forward to reading the first two.
It was not that fast-paced, but I didn’t mind it at all. The investigation was very thoroughly but enjoyable to follow all the way through. I liked the fact that there were two mysteries to be solved at the same time.
It was very well-written. At some point I thought I figured it out but there were more and more new stories coming in. I really liked the fact that not everything seemed clear. You thought that certain people had to be the murderers but there were a lot of twists that I didn’t see coming.

This was my first Debra Webb novel and I absolutely loved it. The set up of each character in this crazy mystery had my creating my own suspect list. I will say I was only half right about some of the scenarios but that’s good enough for me. Vera is strong and amazing and I can’t wait to read more of her stories. Especially see how her love story.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

And boy are there secrets! This is another tightly woven webb of a plot. Vera and Bent double timing it to get to the bottom of that vat of secrets. Her characters are taking on a life of their own and growing even more fleshed in book 3 of Vera. This is one very polished author with maybe a scary mind. Just go with the flow and enjoy the ride.

Debra Webb is back with the thrilling third installment in her Vera Boyett series. Its absolutely fantastic! Layered in suspense, secrets keep arising to keep Vera and the Sheriff (Bent) focused. While Bent is called to a triple homicide of a high-profile man, Vera is called to her half-sister's (Luna) home where Luna's mother-in-law is dead at the bottom of the stairs. Pregnant, Luna has no idea how this happened as she was shopping for paint. To complicate matters, Luna's mother-in-law was very unkind and Vera is set on showing the town that Luna had nothing to do with the death. Vera, a crime analyst, is also helping Bent work the triple homicide, and hoping the one surviving victim comes out of her coma to tell the story. Incredibly well-written, with many twists and turns that will keep the pages turning well after bedtime. Debra Webb is a masterful author. A big thanks to Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for an advanced reader of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
