I adored this series by Sofie Darling and this was a wonderful end to Artemis's story. A second chance love story with plenty of anger, angst, and tension, this book is perfect for fans of Regency Romance series that keep characters popping in from previous books, but technically can be read as a stand alone.

A second chance romance begins in flash back, when the second son of an earl and the young daughter of a duke, fall in love. Torn apart, they meet again ten years later. Slowly they begin to build a relationship, not as before, but as a new beginning. Many obstacles to overcome and secrets to reveal. Very heated descriptive sex.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley.

Just loved this book! Lies tore them apart. Ten years later they both have changed when they met again. The struggles are real with each believing it's too late.. Maybe they should just leave the past in the past.

Wonderful second chance romance. Bran and Artemis fell in love ten years ago. Life for both has been difficult in the years in between. They are brought together again. They learn how to connect and heal from their past to their happily ever after.

This is a cute, heartfelt second-chance romance that brings Lady Artemis and Lord Branwell back together after ten years apart. This story is full of longing, forgiveness, and chemistry, and with plenty of emotional moments along the way.
I especially enjoyed the banter and the overall theme of healing past wounds. At times, the pacing felt a little slow and Artemis’s naivety was a bit frustrating, but overall, the story was sweet and engaging. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
I haven't read the first 4 in the series so I don't think I may have missed a little because of that, but I will likely go back and read them since I did enjoy this HEA.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love Sofie Darling! As one of my favorite authors her stories never disappoint. The "Alls Fair In Love and Racing" series is one of my favorites. This adventure fits right in.
Lady Artemis Keating fell in love at 19 with Lord Branwell Mallory. When Branwell hears that she is supposed to marry his brother instead heartbroken he joins the British army. Artemis is fine with not marrying. She thinks she has learned to close her heart off from others because of past experiences. She owns and runs an animal sanctuary, which means everything to her. Now Branwell has returned and so have those hidden feelings. He was almost killed in South Africa but now returns home convinced he is of no use anymore. His scars add to his doubts. However, once again circumstances change everything. Now they need each others help. Will fate let them find each other again?
Darling's writing is always wondrous. She creates stories that grab you at the beginning all the way to the end, and you won't want it to end. Amazing characters, mystery, and passion reignited, lots of passion, all create an amazing story. As usual Darling is an amazing storyteller, with detailed characters and story.
You will love this story and trust me you need to read the whole series.
Enjoy this romantic adventure for yourself.

This book, a big chef's kiss. Bran and Artemis were just made for each other, just not at the moment they met each other and fell in love. Both their characters are so strong, and their love so deep that their path back to each other was just a roller coaster.
The writing style was so good, you can feel the pain, the love, the lust just coming through the pages. I loved this book and am looking forward to the next in the series.

Ten years ago, Bran Mallory left Lady Artemis Keating without explanation. Now he’s back—scarred, injured, and very much in her path. Working together forces them to face what really happened in the past… and decide if they can trust each other enough to build a future.
Really enjoyed this one. Also the name Artemis is excellent.

The started out well. I was intrigued with Brans background story that explained how he arrived home in the condition that he’s in. From how well the synopsis explained, I presumed that that Bran would come home as an invalid tho be on the mend and to be tended to by his long lost love. No. I didn’t get that.
I found Artemis character to most charming and wonderful. She is well suited for Bran. Living at home with her family of animals is the most glorious thing that can befit a woman who loves to give back to the injured and helpless in need of tending. The story is a like able story for a person who likes horses. I’m sorry, I really struggled with this book.
My attention was lost so many times while reading. I love a good story about a horse race and a couple enjoying the victory, but it was the details from day one at the dining room table to the day of picking the jockeys clothing. And then the day after the race there where people added to the story that I have no clue who the heck they were. Bran and Artemis are not even in the chapters. I was totally lost. I was defeated. This is a talented writer so, it could be my off day for reading. I normally am shouting to the roof tops about the book that I’ve have recently read from her. So, like I said it could be my off day for reading.
Until next time. I love to read them/ review them gal. Read on!

This book was beautifully written. I adore Sofie Darling’s writing style. Second chance is not always my favorite trope, but I felt it was done well here. I loved the focus on horse racing. I also can’t resist a scarred hero, so there was that, too. A great read and one I highly recommend.
I received an ARC from NetGalley. This is my honest review..

I wanted to weep for Bran and Artemis in this romance; however, without their losses and the grief that dominated their lives, there would have been no story. The attraction they experienced as young lovers has been somewhat tarnished, and yet there is still an undeniable attraction between them. Meeting again after 10 years, they are both filled with anger, yet they cannot help but want to reach out and touch each other once more. Unguarded words slip out, making them realize that what they believed may be flawed, and bit by bit, they piece the past together and discover that they have been manipulated, which resulted in them going their separate ways. Finally, they get their chance to clear the air, but even that comes with pain and disappointment. Despite one party manipulating them for the destruction of their relationship, there is the Sun King who once again brings them together once again gloating that he has played the major role in their union. I received a copy of this emotional and heartwarming romance as a gift through BookSprout, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Win Me, My Lord is the fifth book in Sofie Darling's All's Fair in Love and Racing series and is a beautifully written story that pulls on readers' heartstrings and doesn't let go until the last page finishes with the words The End.
Lady Artemis Keating, younger sister to the Duke of Rakesley and owner of an animal sanctuary at Endcliffe Grange in Yorkshire, fell madly and instantly in love with Lord Branwell Mallory at her come-out ball when she was 19, and he with her. But Fate was not on their side when lies and doubts pulled them apart only four months later. Believing Artemis would be marrying his older brother, the dissolute Earl of Stoke, Bran joined the British Army and left England, only to return home 10 years later a scarred shell of his former self after a near fatal injury on his horse in South Africa. But did their love die when they were torn asunder, or has it survived, dormant and just waiting to come to life and grow once more?
This book, like many of Darling's others in the series, is extremely well-written, with lyrical prose and deep insight into her two main characters, Bran and Artemis, who are complex and multi-layered. Their story of a second chance at love has supremely tender moments, hefty steamy scenes (as there is no shortage of physical attraction, desire and want, want, WANT between these two), appearances by characters we've met in previous stories as well as some unmanaged mischief from their very own matchmaker in the form of nonagenarian, Sir Abstrupus Bottomley, Bran's godfather. It also has many of my favorite tropes including a scarred military hero, as a take-off of the Beauty and the Beast trope, as well as grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity and former lovers. But it also has a secret baby twist to it, which is perhaps my least favorite trope to read, and though I enjoyed how an unplanned pregnancy was handled in Book 3, Wager with a Siren, two books with unplanned pregnancies and secret babies in one series was a bit too much for my liking. I did have some difficulty reconciling myself with some of the decisions Artemis made, both in the past and in the present, and I found it a bit unsettling that she would lie to Bran (I'm in the camp that believes a lie of omission is yet a lie), given lies and lack of honesty are what pulled them apart in their youth. I understood her rationale, but in my opinion, it took her too long to be fully open with him about events in their shared past. I'm also not a huge fan of either main character believing they are not worthy of the other person, but then not using that consideration to motivate them to better themselves or pull themselves up to a higher standard of honesty - or at least not doing so until the end.
Still, I enjoyed this book and was delighted Bran and Artemis were able to find their way back to each other. And I'm looking forward to reading the next two books in the series involving Tessa and Gabriel's younger sisters, Viveca and Saskia. Who will be Saskia's love interest, I wonder? Will it be Liam Cassidy??? Or someone else?

I received an Advanced Reader Copy for free from NetGalley, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

Ten years ago, Lady Artemis Keating met Lord Branwell Mallory, and thought they would be together forever. Suddenly, however, he was gone without so much as a goodbye. Now she spends her time rescuing animals and taking care of them on her estate. She is quite content with her life until Bran shows up, scarred from the war, at the neighboring estate. Sir Abstrupas Bottomley is Bran’s eccentric godfather. Sir Abstrupas wants him to train a horse. A love of horses is what brought Artemis and Bran together when they first met. What tore them apart? When the answer to that question finally comes to light, will they have a second chance? Is there a happy ending for them? If Sir Abstrupas succeeds in his matchmaking attempt, there certainly will be. Artemis and Bran are wonderful characters. Sir Abstrupas is awesome in his own way. The Race of the Century has finally come, and characters from the other stories in the series are here. Great addition to the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Artemis and Bran were in love ten years ago, but then Bran leaves her and becomes a Soldier. This is when they meet again. They find out things that they thought were real are not, then they find love and how to heal each other. If you read other books in this series, you will recognize some of the people at the race. I really enjoyed this book and their love story. Sofie Darling does it again.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am leaving my honest opinion.

That was quite possibly the best HistRom I've read in years. Full of feeling, great storyline, characters you alternately root for, want to tell to be brave, get irritated at, and ultimately cheer and shed a tear for at their HEA.

I love Sophie Darling’s books and this one did not disappoint. The characters are interesting and the romance is always satisfying. 5 stars.

Second chance romances are a favorite of mine, and Bran and Artemis are pure delight! They fell in love very young, but meddling relatives and a series of lies drove them apart. Now ten years later as Bran returns a physically and emotionally scarred war hero, they can now unravel the lies, and face the insecurities that they both share. Discovering the new improved, mature version of one another, they find a deeper love that was destined to be! Beautiful story!

Lord Branwell Mallory and Lady Artemis Keating have known each other for years. Years ago, something happened, and their life paths changed. Fast forward ten years and Bran is now a wounded war hero and Artemis is caring for wounded animals. Never did they expect their paths to cross and that Bran would be training a racehorse at Artemis’ stables. But can they overcome what happened to them ten years ago and who the betrayal came from?
Very well written and enjoyable story. These two were a great couple and they absolutely deserved a happy ever after. I would recommend the entire series.

The story follows Lady Sophie, who is determined to avoid marriage and scandal-proof her reputation, despite her unpredictable past. She meets Lord Branwell Mallory, the man who abandoned her ten years ago and is now a scarred ex-soldier. A man who is arrogant and utterly unsuitable. Forced to work together in training a racehorse, Bran and Artemis find themselves re-evaluating what they believed of their past.
This is a delightful Regency romance full of charm and plenty of chemistry. What I enjoyed most was Sophie’s strong-willed nature. She’s witty, intelligent, and unafraid to challenge the expectations of her time. Camden, meanwhile, is the perfect foil—gruff but vulnerable, and slowly undone by a Sophie, who he can’t put aside. The tension built beautifully throughout this story. I found the pacing to be quick with plenty of witty dialogue. A quick, satisfying read with just the right balance of flirtation, emotional stakes, and historical flair.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am always amazed by this author. Each story has such depth of emotions. The characters are so full and believable. The person working to bring Bran and Artemis together adds humor and outrageous hilarity to the story. Even the sheepdog adds a touch of caring to every part of the story. This is a story you will want to read!
