Lady Artemis Keating and Bran Mallory meet again after 10 years apart and they realize quickly that their feelings for each other haven’t changed. Bran is back in England after years fighting for his country but returns wounded and not wanting to accept assistance from anyone. Artemis has never married and still has issues with the way she and Bran parted 10 years ago. After working together to train a thoroughbred for a race, they confront their feelings and the secrets that kept them apart. A great addition to the All’s Fair in love and racing series.❤️🔥. I received an ARC from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was extremely fortunate to receive an ARC of Win Me, My Lord written by the amazing Sofie Darling from Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Ten years ago, two people thought their love for each other was temporary and nothing permanent. They thought of the other abandoning them for money or titles. But now, when Lady Artemis Keating amd wat hero, Lord Branwell Mallory meet again, itbis as if they were never apart. Sadly, those old unfinished hurts still exist and in order to move forward, those old misunderstandings have to come to light in the clear dawn of day. An amazing story of resilience and fortitude.

This novel was the story of Bran and Artemis who fell in love at first sight, circumstances beyond their control tore them apart. They spent ten years apart thinking the worst of one another. They were reunited and discovered the truth and built a friendship that revealed that their love never died. I did enjoy the characters and the banter between some of them. The reconnection felt genuine and believable. Bran was a caring hero and Artemis was a loving heroine, but her naïveté did become annoying. It took too long for to realize how she was being treated by her mother. The story did a seem a bit wordy and long. There were parts that went on about the scenery and little details that I could have done without. This steamy story of second chances had supportive family, romance, humor, good characters with a good friendship group, manipulative, selfish family, people with eccentricities, and a HEA.

’ve been excited to learn more about Artemis, & her story definitely didn’t disappoint. I think this might be my favorite of the series. That’s no small feat, as I truly like them all.
I’m a sucker for a second chance romance, & this one really pulled @ my heartstrings. Artemis has been a likable character from the start. Her appearances in the other books in the series establish her as a strong, smart, loyal, & kind woman who has channeled heartbreak into a labor of love. She uses her estate as an animal rescue & rehab facility. It’s hinted @ in another book that Artemis once had a special gentleman court her, but things come much more into focus when her history w/Bran is revealed. It isn’t just the loss of her beloved horse that has torn apart her heart.
Bran has mostly found his worth as an excellent soldier. When he loses that to injury, he struggles to find his place. His older brother may be an Earl, but he’s a complete wastrel. Bran wants very badly to help give his younger sister the proper introduction to society that she deserves. To seek the funds, he agrees to train his eccentric godfather’s race horse. This brings him back into an orbit w/Artemis once again.
As eager as I was to get the scoop, it’s perfect that the history of their relationship is revealed a bit @ a time, as they get to know & trust one another again. There’s plenty of banter, wit, & steam to offset the angst brought on by revelations & details of their past.
Thanks to the author for allowing me to read an advance copy via NetGalley.

The story of Bran and Artemis is a powerful one wrapped around two people who lost and opportunity only to be presented with it again after major disasters have impacted their lives. Sir Abstrupus, is a hoot as a 90+ year old crumdgen who has a plan and eccentric behaviors. Lively, entertaining and very enjoyable.

The story itself was really good but I JUST KNOW I would’ve enjoyed it more if I had read the first four books *tear tear*

Very good story between Artemis and Bran. A story of love and loss, heartbreak and hope. These two characters have had their fill of up and downs in life, together and apart. Very good through to the end!
I received a free copy of this book from the author. The thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley. This story started years ago when Artemis and Bran fell in love but her mother, the Duchess put herself in the middle of their lives. Artemis should have gone to her brother to get permission to marry instead he knew nothing about what was going on. Bran went off to the war and in an accident he was injured. He is back to train a horse for racing. they feel their love is there again but there are things from the past must be resolved before they ca go on. There are still many ups and downs to settle. Will they make? They have some who are wanting it to be their time and then those who are against them.

What a heartwarming, emotional, well developed and exceptionally well written story of a second chance at love, despite the obstacles already in the way, and those that life itself provided in the ten years of separation.
Artemis and Bran met and fell in love, but were separated. They get together again, after they both have suffered much loss, and this time they will not let this chance go to waste. Artemis is a kind-hearted, intelligent heroine, who tends to believe in the best in everyone. Bran is a disillusioned wounded soldier, who bears injuries and scars (apparent, but also invisible) and yet he remains strong, and acts nobly and honorably at all times. If you like a wounded hero trope (and I very much do), Bran is a wonderful one.
Sophie Darling is a new to me author and I really enjoyed her style of writing. The plot developed quickly, every chapter was adding to the enjoyment of the storyline and the romance was steamy. I very much enjoyed the supporting characters and will need to go back to read their stories. Finally, the nonagenarian’s name was so awesome and fitting - Sir Abstrupus.
I very highly recommend this novel, the advance copy of which was provided to me by NetGalley and Oliver Heber books. These opinions are my own.

This is a beautiful second chance romance that will keep you entertained until the end.
Ten years ago, Bran and Artemis thought they had a future together until there was a huge misunderstanding.
When Artemis' neighbor hires Bran to train his horse for a race they meet again. She is running an animal sanctuary, and he is trying to earn money to give his sister a season.
I loved the story of heartbreak, betrayal, and loss between them, and how they overcame the adversity.
There were also interesting secondary characters, animals, and lots of steamy scenes.

Two of my favorite storylines – the scarred hero and second chance. This devastating story of misunderstandings, machinations and longing was heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. Bran and Artemis were so sweet and their love transcended time to end up with undying love. So sweet.
Sofie, I need a story about Blaze. The name and his personality would make an amazing story.

I truly enjoyed this story, even though I do struggle with the lost love and loss of time especially due to misunderstandings or others interference. All of the what could have beens are hard to think about, but this story was written really well to bring out the main characters choices and heartaches and return of true love and support. I also really loved that the old meddling fool was a male instead of a female. Got a love em they come in all types. Thank you for this opportunity to read Bran and Artemis’s story.

Sofie Darling is a master. I will certainly read more of her work in the future. An absolute delight.

Win me, My Lord was a great addition to the series. Although it was not on of my favorite of the series -- subject matter was difficult to connect with- the story itself was great and we got to see another couple have a HHE. Free ARC for honest review from NetGalley.

A historical romance full of longing and yearning, “Win Me, My Lord”, by Sofie Darling, features a wounded hero lost in sorrow and pain and an independend, vibrant heroine.
I loved the second-chance Bran and Artemis try and explore after a long separation riddled with lies by third parties and misunderstandings.
It was a hard, emotional journey for Bran to regain the zest for life after severe physical and psychological wounds acquired in battle.
I liked watching the guarded hero thaw when urged to help his family, work with horses and, above all, meet again his long lost love, Artemis.
Artemis is an intelligent, confident, energetic heroine.
I liked the passion, desire, lust, deep connection between Bran and Artemis.
I also liked the secondary characters and the setting. The interactions involving horses and animals were interesting.
I felt the story dragged in the middle and the sexual encounters seemed drawn out. Sometimes the relationships and interactions seemed too modern.

A beautifully written and heart felt romance. Bran and Artemis regain their love, a love they thought abandoned. A passionate reconnection where lies and misunderstandings come to light. A forever happy ending this time where two hearts were always meant to be.

Ten years ago, Lord Branwell Mallory and Lady Artemis Keating had a beautiful future ahead of them. Now Bran is a scarred former-soldier looking for direction...until he is offered an opportunity that might change his fortunes and allow him to provide a dowry for his sister. Over the years, Artemis has discovered a knack for helping injured creatures...but she never expected Bran would be one of them. Forced to work together, they reignite a connection that never died.
This is the fifth book in the All's Fair in Love and Racing series. The final horse race that the series has been building towards happens in this story, so I would recommend reading in order. I don't think the stakes would matter as much to a new reader who hadn't experienced the other stories.
Artemis has experienced many losses in her young life but, finding Bran again lets them both learn the truth about their separation and begin to heal. Sometimes second chance plots with a large time gap separation tend to focus too heavily on lies and misunderstandings. While there's a little bit of that here, I didn't feel like it took over or dragged on too long. Both characters made acknowledgements early on, and then leaned into their chemistry, which I appreciated. It was an enjoyable read with emotionally rich characters, good heart, and plenty of feels. 4.5 stars rounded to 5.

* I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Lady Artemis Keating, sister of the Duke of Rakesley, has found solace in the countryside after the heartbreaking loss of her cherished Thoroughbred, Dido. In her grief, she’s created a sanctuary for injured and abandoned animals that offers second chances not only to them, but to herself. She has heard talk of Lord Branwell "Bran" Mallory's visit to Sir Abstrupus Bottomley's estate, who is Bran's godfather and her next-door neighbor. This brings up memories of her heartbreak over the love of Bran, who abandoned her ten years ago, without a word, not even a "good-bye".
Bran, has returned a war hero and brother to a wastrel earl, carries physical and emotional wounds from a brutal military patrol attack. His eccentric godfather has offered him a lifeline and it's one he can't refuse. He is to train his godfather's Thoroughbred, Radish, to win a horse race, and if he succeeds, Bran will earn the entire winning purse and a perhaps a chance to pursue a new career in training horses for the titled lords. The only catch in the horse training is he must include Artemis in the process of training Radish.
Reluctant and wary, Bran fears Artemis will see him as just another creature in need of rescue, and he still harbors resentment over her betrayal in the past. But Artemis sees a different man now, one forged by loss and pain. As Radish’s training brings them closer, old wounds resurface, buried truths emerge, and they begin to rediscover what they once shared. Can they overcome the lies and betrayal that kept them apart by outside sources? Can Bran finally accept his body's physical limitations and conquer his mental fears and ride again?
Sofie Darling delivers another emotionally rich, beautifully written installment in her horse-racing Regency series. Her characters shine with depth and vulnerability, and the romance gallops forward with heart and heat. I highly recommend reading the series in order to appreciate the journey leading up to The Race of the Century. From delightful secondary characters to a pitch-perfect blend of humor and passion, this story is a winner. And fingers crossed, we need a happily-ever-after for Blaze Jagger!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

A breathtaking end to a great series! (Or is it? The race is over, but…)
As I said time and time again, second chance is my least favorite trope and especially when the couple is separated by lies spread by a third person. But I couldn’t not ADORE this book, because Darling is an astounding writer: the plot is gorgeously written and the characters, both main and side ones, wonderfully fleshed out. The copious angst is perfectly counterbalanced by some light moments and I loved that the couple started their relationship anew as two different persons from those who fell in love all those years ago (when they probably were much too young to know their minds). I also loved seeing all the characters of the previous book together and I really hope the series will continue with a couple of characters (well, at least four, really) who are very, very intriguing…
