If you want to read the most wholesome book of the year, this is it!

Tilly Nightingale gets a call one day, saying that there is a gift for her at her local book store, from her late husband Joe. How can it be?!

But he has left the most beautiful gift - a year of books. One book every month. And it leads Tilly on a journey of rediscovering herself, with the support of bookstore owner, Alfie.

It’s sad and heartbreaking, while also being uplifting and beautiful. It was beautifully written, with such care of a beautiful story.

10/10 cannot recommend this book enough!

Oh this will be one of the books of 2026. Libby Page has written an ace story. It is a beautiful story of books and finding your love of books again after great sadness. Lots of great characters. Loved the french part, the sister and a proper neat ending. The book shop is great. I can not recommend it enough. Absolutely brilliant

I read the description of this book and it was an immediate must-read for me! And it didn't disappoint! A husband who has arranged 12 books for his wife after his passing through a local bookshop. My book loving heart was sold

This is such a sad, heartfelt yet hopeful book. So beautifully tender in its delivery. A story of navigating life after the death of a loved one, of grieving, healing and self-discovery. Its structure is perfect with each book serving as a catalyst for Tilly's next adventure.

The author uses the cast of side characters well to show that grieving is such an individual journey but also a shared experience.

The settings were perfection - I just want to tour the bookshops of London and New York now and I loved the premise that, in spite of being such big cities, bookshops can provide the community so many of us crave.

This is a read that will stay with you days after reading. Loved it!

Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin General UK for the ARC. Book to be published 29/01/26

I loved this book, I had me feeling a whole range of emotions & tears were shed at certain points,

I loved Tilly and Alfie as well as the supporting characters, I love any book the involves book lovers/book shops within the plot,

The fact I had visited Foyles on Charing Cross earlier in the day when read this and then it was mentioned gave me a warm fuzzy feeling!

Whilst you can say the plot is somewhat predictable I didn’t care because that’s exactly what I love with these type of books!

Thank you so much for allowing me to read an ARC of this book

A 5 star read from me.

Tilly Nightingale receives a call from a local bookshop 6 months after the death of her husband, Joe, from cancer. Before his death he organised a gift of a book a month to help her move on. Tilly used to love reading but since his death has not read a book. Her first - Matilda - gives her pleasure and she starts to look forward to her monthly visit to the bookshop and her discussions with its quirky owner, Alfie, who is facing his own issues.

His book choices allow her to start to look after herself and to make decisions about her future. His financial planning allows her to give up her job, go travelling and experience some book related adventures.

It also allows her to get to know Alfie better and help him when the future of the bookshop is in doubt.

A lovely heartwarming book dealing with grief but also hope, community and friendship. And obviously the value of books and reading!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for this ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As it was my first time reading this author, I approached it with an open mind and I was pleasantly surprised.

This is a beautifully heartwarming story about navigating grief and learning to move forward. The characters are well-developed and vividly brought to life, making it easy to become emotionally invested in their journeys. While I did find Tilly a bit irritating at times, some of her words and actions felt jarring and hard to relate to it didn’t detract from the overall charm of the story.

I struggled a little with the fragmented timeline, which occasionally disrupted the narrative flow. However, I absolutely loved the premise of "a year of books," and hearing Joe’s voice through his letters to Tilly was especially poignant.

This book is perfect for book lovers and anyone looking for a gentle romance with a touch of adventure. The monthly book recommendations were a lovely addition, and I would definitely read more from this author in the future.

I loved this story. Libby's characters are so beautifully crafted, they became like a part of my family whilst I was reading! I was rooting for the protagonist and several others!

A beautiful look at grief, hope and living in the moment. I also noted down lots of book recommendations threaded throughout the story. Thank you for yet another beautiful story Libby!

My thoughts: TBMMTOY is genuinely one of the most incredible and beautiful reads I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing and I am grateful for the opportunity to have had an advance reader copy.

I wrote pages of notes for this novel as I was reading through, as there was just so much I loved and enjoyed - so I will try to narrow and simplify my thoughts below:

• I will, from this moment, always be referred to as a “library mouse”

• The recommendations throughout of books to read either by Book Lane or from Joe to Tilly - I looked up every book that was mentioned and so many were added to my TBR!

• Whilst there is some predictability to the plot, the journey the characters go through to get there is absolutely incredible. There are moments of intensity, emotional depth, resilience and vulnerability. There are tears and laughter which as a reader you feel emotionally in tune with - have tissues at the ready as there were so many heart wrenching moments.

• Every character is so loveable - from the Paris Grief group, Tilly’s sister Harper, Prudence and Blue, and even stray cat Georgette - you will become immersed in the world that Libby creates and feel like these characters are friends and family to you.

An easy 5✨ read!! ❤️

I loved this book. I have enjoyed every one of Libby Page's books but I adored this one.
A love story of so much more than Tilly and Joe, but community, connection, books, bookshops and grief.

Just wonderful and I can't wait to read more of Libby's wonderful stores.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this early 🥰

I read this book with tears streaming down my face. -
there was a particular scene in Paris that totally broke my heart! A beautiful exploration of grief, finding the strength to move through sadness and to learn how to live again. There are moments of such heartbreaking sadness, but these sit alongside times of joy and hope. The characterisation is perfection, I completely fell head over heels for Tilly & Alfie & the charming Book Lane Books which is like a character itself. Absolutely adored it, bravo Libby Page!

I fear if my dead husband pre-sent books to be delivered to me each month for a year with a note attached, I would simply perish too.

I hadn’t read a Libby Page book before reading This Book Made Me Think of You. I loved the blurb on the book and went into reading it with no baggage.

I absolutely loved everything about this book. It’s definitely a book for book lovers, but it’s also a book for everyone and I think it would be a book that would get people reading more.

The book centres on Tilly Nightingale, a recent young widow who receives a phone-call from her local independent bookshop informing her that she has a birthday gift awaiting collection. The gift is a year of books and one book to be collected each month. Before her husband Joe died, he had organised this with the bookstore owner Alfie.

I loved the way there are book recommendations from Alfie’s bookshop each month and I personally have added so many of the recommendations to my list of books to read. Tilly receives a book each month and a letter from her husband Joe. There are twelve books for Tilly to read and twelve stories on how the books impact Tilly and help her through her grief and get out of her comfort zone.

This book is such a beautiful book and such a hopeful book and a book that truly demonstrates the power of books and people who read and the community of readers. There are so many lovely stories and some funny stories of Tilly’s adventures over the year. She is supported by Alfie and his team including Georgette the cat in the bookshop, her sister Harper, her friend Rachel and her friends from the Shakespeare and Company bookshop in Paris.

I think this is a book that I will revisit and reread over the years.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, Penguin General UK, for making this e-ARC available to me in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Perfect easy read for the beach or a holiday. I liked the book recommendations scattered throughout; a nice touch. The main themes are grief and friendship, and it reminded me a bit of P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern, in that there are letters (or in this case, books) left behind by someone who's died, guiding the main character through her next steps. It’s quite a predictable story, but I didn’t mind that, and it follows the familiar feel-good arc where the main character finds her way, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. I received an advanced review copy from NetGalley and this is my honest review.

Can I say it’s perfect no notes ?

PS I Love You is an obvious comparison to this book but it’s so much more than this flippant remark. The journey of grief is never simple and you find yourself rooting for Tilly while also finding parts of your own loss and grief in the story. It’s honestly one of the best books I’ve read this year and can’t wait to read more from this author.

Thank you so much for providing me with an early copy of this book.

Libby Page has done it again. I am sobbing. This book was absolutely everything and more. Everything Libby writes feels like a hug in a book but This Book Made Me Think of You especially so. This is literally a bookish PS I Love You, WHAT MORE CAN A GAL IN HER 30S WANT?! I absolutely fell in love with Tilly’s character from the start and I was hooked on her grief journey. I love that as a reader we experienced her highs and her lows and I really felt like I was her friend helping to navigate her journey. Alfie has my absolute heart. What a bloody sweetheart. Alfie is just the perfect man, the perfect man who also had a journey for himself. I felt such connection to those characters. This book is one of those books that I finished and immediately wanted to start again. I will be revisiting these characters very soon!

I loved this book so much and I cannot wait for it to be released in the wild and to get my hands on a physical copy so I can annotate the s**t out of it.

This book… it was as wholesome and comforting as you can imagine reading the synopsis. This is ‘p.s. I love you’ vibes but for the book girlies (and guys).

I had never read a book by Page before but when I saw this cover and then read the concept I was immediately hooked and was desperate to read it. And this book lives up to the hype of that feeling. To the point where even at 15% I knew I’d love it and was recommending it to people already. Begging friends to request it so we could talk about it early.

This book is the epitome of a warm hug on an autumn day. Be that if you’re going through grief or not. I absolutely loved Tilly and Alfie and seeing their characters grow individually, showing the good, the bad and the ugly of getting over grief. Especially growing through books as I feel like we’ve all got a book that has had an impact on us and that we would recommend to anyone.

The only reason it wasn’t a five star read was because I didn’t feel the realness of the love story between the two main characters.

A huge thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this arc, this one will stay with me for a while.

This was another excellent book from Libby Page. The way it spoke of loss, grief, love, and life was gorgeous, I felt my heart break and mend all within a few chapters. The characters were excellent, the premise was beautiful, and the execution was flawless. I devoured this book, and I can’t wait to see what Page writes next.

🎇I liked so much about this book, but it wasn’t quite five stars for me ( I’d happily give it 4.5) iIts just that the romance fell a bit short, mostly because the mmc wasn’t for me and the chemistry felt a bit stilted. Luckily that wasn’t the main focal point and I adored the idea of gifting someone you love a book a month for a year. I can see this trending easily!

Overall it was a heartwarming and very enjoyable book and I am so grateful to #netgalley for the arc.
