This was hilarious! a really unique plot, with loveable characters. I think the virgin trope was handled really well, and i’m glad we got a fully fleshed out main characters.

This is a sweet and sexy romance novel! I thought that the spice was really well done, and plentiful. It was nice to see sex scenes that were a bit different from the norm-- it kept it from feeling repetitive, which was good since there were quite a lot of them.

I really enjoyed both Scout and Hudson, and really believed them as a couple. I was rooting for them from the beginning, and felt that they really grew together in a nice way. However, my one main critique is that the book is perhaps too low conflict. I'm not a huge cozy reader, so others may like that more, but for me, I was hoping for a little more angst and drama adding to the push-pull between the two of them. It felt pretty destined from the beginning that they'd be together, and there weren't many obstacles in the way of that.

Still, altogether, a light, fun, sexy read!

3.5 stars. The exploits of inexperienced sex toy engineer Scout and consultant Hudson were a lot of fun to read. And frequently very steamy. The work sabotage plot was less compelling and left some loose ends.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

Such a fresh idea with a really refreshing approach to the conversation of sex. This really reminded me of The Kiss Quotient (dynamic wise) and I very much enjoyed it!

First of all, LOVE THIS COVER. It’s so fun and definitely matches the humorous vibe of the book.

This started off so strong! I enjoyed the funny writing style and the chapter title puns were a joy. I liked Scout and Hudson together and thought it was shaping up to be a fun little journey. However, it went downhill for me after about 30%. I grew increasingly tired of Scout’s inner monologue, especially once she started to realize her feelings for Hudson but refused to act on them and made it seem like he was the bad guy for not communicating when SHE WASN’T COMMUNICATING?? Just waiting for him to do all the vulnerable stuff and acting like it was his fault when he didn’t? Acting as if he never showed ANY SIGN that he loved her when that’s literally all he did, while she reminded him at every opportunity that they wouldn’t be together after his contract was up??? She seriously annoyed me by the end, and I couldn’t even really be happy about them finally getting together for real because of how dumb it was to get there. I’m getting mad at her all over again just typing this out. I honestly skimmed a majority of the ending because I couldn’t handle her anymore.

I wont lie to you, I stayed up until nearly one in the morning finishing this book! I really enjoyed myself and I enjoyed our main characters! Both are horrific people pleasers with heartbreaking pasts, but together they create a beautiful relationship. This book could've easily been 100 pages longer for me!

Wow, this was so fun and SO HOT! This book follows Scout, a sex-toy engineer who is quite rigid when we first meet her but damn, did she come out of her shell. I really loved her character growth and her inner monologue was funny and refreshing!! And Hudson, the sweet, sweet man that he is 🥹 These two were perfect for each other and really had great chemistry.

This book is extremely sex positive, very educational (in my honest opinion), and hot as hell. I really don’t think I’ve read something that educated one paragraph and then could turn you on in the same chapter. 🥵🔥

Thanks NetGalley and Berkley for an ARC!

A Little Buzzed by Alys Murray is super fun and seriously spicy in all the best ways. The chemistry between the main characters is off the charts. The steamy scenes are 🔥 but there’s also a lot of heart, which makes it feel more than just a sexy read. I loved how natural and fun the whole *vibe* was. Easy to get into and hard to put down. If you're into playful romance with a lot of heat, this one’s it.

This was ok. Fell a little flat for me but it stayed quite on theme throughout. Didn't think first person was a good choice given the topic, I'd have preferred getting Hudson's POV as well for additional sex-positivity themes from a masculine perspective.

I loved this book!! I loved how it started off strong right out of the gate, I was hooked from chapter one. The setting at a sex toy company is so fun and unique and lends itself to great scenes of exploration for both of the main charactesr. I loved the character dynamics and how he helped her see that she deserves love and success and to believe in herself.

So I may genuinely use this for a sex-ed bookclub I am running! The sex positivity and exploration is EPIC and I laughed and know that folks will also find comfort in seeing another explore! Well done.

Scout is a brilliant sex toy engineer, but her personal life is non-existent. She's a workaholic prodigy who has never experienced love, friendship, or sex. When her company hires a new tech guy, Hudson—a computer nerd who knows nothing about pleasure products—she's initially annoyed, then reluctantly takes him under her wing.

But their top-secret project gets a new rival: a company helmed by her ex-boyfriend, Lloyd Exeter. The competition forces Scout to re-evaluate her life. She decides to lose her virginity, and a night with Hudson blurs the lines between professional and personal. As she navigates this new world of intimacy, she must also confront her feelings for the one person who challenges her to finally experience life beyond her work.

A body, sex, and pleasure positive read that I enjoyed far more than I thought I would. I may be a librarian now but at one time, I worked at an adult "bookstore". It was one of the bets jobs I have ever had. I feel that the author really understands the reader and explores something many books shy away from: sex and pleasure are healthy! 4.5 stars. Loved it!

Dr. Scout Porter is an engineering prodigy, with two advanced degrees, working at a sexual wellness company after her career as a rocket scientist literally exploded. She’s in the home stretch of the creation of The Fantasy, a sex toy that will revolutionize the industry. If only consultant Hudson Bailey would stop hanging around.

Hudson is a programmer with absolutely no sex toy experience. And he’s interested in Scout. When he finds out that she’s a virgin, they negotiate a trade: sex toy lessons for him in exchange for sex for her.

But one night opens the door to all kinds of exploration and broadens Scout’s horizons in ways she never dreamed.

Super sexy read.
