Every time I pick up one of the books in this series I want a grilled cheese sandwich. Do not read on an empty stomach but read. It is a good series where Carley gets embroiled in a murder investigation at the fundraiser for a new floor for the local school. It is not as if she does not have enough on her plate. Her wedding is a month off and Ari’s sister, whom she has never met, arrives unexpectedly with an adorable little girl whom she hopes to adopt. Clearly the last thing she needs is her mother to be the prime suspect because she confronted the deceased when he tried to bully Carley.
Everyone including Ari and her mother do not want her to get involved but Carley manages to get attached to the girlfriend of Brice, the victim. A good deed turns into far more and puts her in the crosshairs of a dangerous and unstable guy. I kept wondering if my suspects were the killers because there were lots of good twists. After second guessing more than once, I was vindicated. I love a book where I think I know who “dunnit” but the author has me wondering if I got it wrong.
The book is a fun read and the secondary story with the sister Leslie and Quinne, the little girl, is an added delight. Five purrs and two paws up.

Equal parts murder mystery and family/small town story, this one is light-hearted and easy to read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Edam and Weep is the next installment of "A Grilled Cheese Mystery" series. Carly is thrilled to assist with the local high school's fundraiser, especially since her help entails making her delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. Unfortunately, her neighboring booth vendor is less than friendly. When his over-the-top bullying gets to be a bit much, Carly's mom steps in with a few choice words. After the neighboring vendor leaves, the fundraiser seems to be on track. Of course, things can't go perfectly according to plan, and the vicious vendor is found murdered in the high school locker room with Carly's mom's scarf around his neck. Now, in order to prove her mother's innocence, Carly must dive into the investigation. Between her restaurant, her wedding (in less than a month), and now the investigation, Carly has her hands full!
Edam and Weep is a delightful cozy mystery with fun characters, a charming setting, and delicious recipes! I seriously can't wait to try the croque monsieur! Ari's family was an interesting and enjoyable addition to this book. They added a bit of drama and lovability. While I found the book a bit slow-paced, the mystery was intriguing and kept me guessing. I'll definitely continue with this series!

Carly and Ari are getting married in a month, but now her mom is the chief suspect in the murder of an unpleasant vendor at the local fundraiser. Add is the return of Ari's sister, now with a little girl in tow. Let the sleuthing begin! 5 star read!

Well not sure where this book went so I can't really give an honest review. But if it's anything like the others before then it's going to be amazing . Filled with action right from the start and keeps one guessing until the end. If I find this actual book in my stash I'll come back with a real review.

I love this series and the characters in it. It felt like a nice coze with a good friend. And there was a lot to catch up on. Carly was getting ready for her wedding, helping her to-be sister-in-law get a new job and finalize an adoption, and clearing her mom of murder!
This was a good mystery with plenty of twists and lots of suspects. I didn't have it all solved at the end though I was getting close. Not only were the characters engaging, Carly actually had to pay attention to what was happening to the restaurant she owned. It is a pet peeve of mine when the lead of a cozy has a business but can take off whenever they want without seeming to ever have to worrying about getting enough coverage, if their employees want to work extra, or if anyone can actually do what the lead is suppose to do in the business.
This has been a very enjoyable series and I hope there will be more. I haven't heard that the series was ending but you never now when there is a marriage. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

When Carly's mom is the top suspect in a murder, you know she will do anything to prove her innocence. Carly also has some new family in town. Then there is the wedding (her's) coming up soon. This is a fun read with some good twists to keep you guessing. I really enjoyed this book, it is a great cozy read.

This is a fun addition to the series with a well crafted sleuth that kept me guessing. Carly and her Mother are a great team and I enjoyed them working together. A high school fundraiser turns to murder and they must investigate to clear her Mother. I loved the nefarious victim , the detailed clues throughout and of course the fabulous cheese. Well done to the author.
Thank you to the publisher, Net Galley and the author. My review is my own opinion.

As this book opens, it’s just over a month until Carly’s wedding to Ari. But today, she’s focused on the 50’s diner themed fundraiser for the local high school’s gym. While she’s selling simple grilled cheese (of course), some of the other vendors are offering various other offerings. But the man selling sodas clearly doesn’t want to be there, and his rude behavior leads to a confrontation with Carly’s mom. When the man is found dead later with the scarf that her mom was wearing around his neck, Carly jumps in to figure out what really happened.
When I heard about this book, I quickly added it to my reading plans since I’ve enjoyed the earlier books in the series. Sadly, this one was disappointing. There are two dualing storylines, but they both losing steam in the second half. The mystery plot felt a bit familiar, although I didn’t have the killer pegged. Fortunately, the characters are still charming, and I enjoyed spending time with them. We get two cheese themed recipes at the end. This is one that fans will want to read to the end. But if you are new to the series, start with an earlier book.

This series just gets better and better. I loved the introduction of Ari's sister and soon to be niece. As always the characters read like old friends you get to visit from time to time. The plot was light and moved easily from scene to scene. And, the food descriptions always make me want a grilled cheeses sandwich. While the character development has been progressing over the series, this book can absolutely be read as a stand alone.
I am already excited looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Edam and Weep is the 6th book in the Grilled Cheese Mystery series by Linda Reilly. I absolutely love this series and have to say that this was my favorite book so far. It made me smile, laugh and even brought a few tears to my eyes. The love and interaction between the characters is amazing. Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop. I highly recommend Edam and Weep and the whole series..

This is the 6th installment of Reilly's "Grilled Cheese Mysteries" and I have loved them all! In this book, Carly is asked to provide grilled cheeses at the local school's fundraiser. When another vendor is found murdered, Carly's mom becomes one of the prime suspects. Carly, as usual, sets off to clear her mother's name, and in doing so puts herself right in the path of the killer. The characters and Vermont setting are all great, and you will love the recipes, too. I also appreciate that Reilly just writes a good book without all the forced political/social commentary. As a librarian, I can tell you that people do not care for an author's political/social views, if anything it is a huge turnoff, so I know this is a series I can recommend without worrying about upsetting anyone.

Thank you to NetGalley and Beyond the Page Publishing for this ARC.
Carly Hale lives in Balsam Dell, Vermont, with her fiancé Ari, an electrician, and dog Havarti (yes, after the cheese). She runs a Grilled Cheese Eatery and in her spare time solves murders in her community. This is book 6 in the Grilled Cheese Mysteries and has an established community, from Carly's family and friends to other members of this small town. Carly is friendly with everyone, be it police or the newspaper so she has many people to help her with her sleuthing.
An rude vendor at a local fundraiser is murdered and unfortunately, Carly's mum had given him a tongue lashing earlier. When he turns up dead, she is pulled in for questioning, so this time it's personal for Carly. To be honest, for me the murder case took a backseat because I liked the wedding preparations and the addition of Leslie, Ari's sister and her niece Quinne who she is trying to adopt. What starts a little contentious, develops into a heartwarming story of a woman starting over.
Friends and family come together to eat and drink a lot of mouthwatering food, which is nice, and we get a couple of recipes at the end. I liked how cosy it all feels. Little Quinne is sweetly precocious and her bond with dog Havarti is heartwarming. You might enjoy this book more if you've read the previous books with the cheesy pun titles, just for the development of the community relationships but it can be read as a standalone. I only read this book in the series and the one before, but it's growing on me and I hope there'll be a next one. For some people the tone might be a bit too traditional, what with the emphasis of wanting kids, but you can concentrate on Carly being a businesswoman.

In “Edam and Weep”, the sixth book in Linda Reilly’s tasty Grilled Cheese cozy mystery series, Carly Hale already has her hands full running her grilled cheese restaurant and planning her wedding to Ari Mitchell but becomes even busier when not only does Ari’s sister Leslie comes to visit with Quinne, the little girl she hopes to adopt, but when someone is murdered at a fundraiser Carly helps out with, her mother becomes one of the chief suspects. Carly races to clear her mother’s name before her wedding but will her efforts put her in danger?
“Edam and Weep” is a fun mystery. I love the Grilled Cheese restaurant and the description of the food served there – I’m not necessarily a grilled cheese fan but I certainly crave a grilled cheese sandwich (or two) while reading this book! I also like the characters – not only Carly and Ari but their coworkers, friends, and families. Leslie and Quinne are a nice addition to the series although Quinne is one of those cute adorable children found only in fiction. The mystery is well done with just the right amount of suspects, twists and turns, and red herrings – the book is well plotted with several clues pointing the reader to the solution – I had my suspicions at time but still didn’t quite figure it out. Well done by Reilly!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley.

I really enjoy the grilled cheese mystery series and given the ending, I think this might be the last one? Edam and Weep seems to bring everything to a close with Carly and Ari’s wedding while also giving us another mystery to solve.
When Carly participates in the school fundraiser set up to be a 50’s theme, she’s shocked encounter a rude man at the soda stand who has a harsh argument with her mother. The police zero in on Carly’s mother when that man later turns up strangled and Carly needs to solve the mystery to clear her mother’s name. We also get to meet Ari’s sister who suddenly shows up with a little girl in tow, demanding money and how they all deal with their relationships. If this is the last one, I think it ended on a high note! Read this if you enjoy comfort food, cozy settings, and mysteries.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this early arc!

This is another great entry to this amazing series! I so love the characters in this series, and the grilled cheese sandwiches all sound so yummy!! I enjoyed the mystery in this book, I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who did it! I would highly recommend this book to everyone who loves this series!

I do really enjoy this series but this one missed the mark for me. The little girl Quinne took up too much of the story. She acted older than she was and she just didn’t add enough to the story when really this should have been more about our two engaged folks being together more showing how cute they are together. I also think the twist was interesting but very little detective work done. I also don’t like the pro cop aspect. You have investigated how many murders but you’re gonna say that cops in MOST cases get it right just not any case you involve yourself in. It was weird.

This is the sixth book in the Grilled Cheese Mysteries series. I've read all the books in the series and this one is great just like all the others. It could be read even if you haven't read any of the others in the series, the author does a good job of recapping the characters. This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series. It always has a positive vibe which makes me feel good while reading it, and when I've finished. Carly, the main character, is a positive person who tries to do the right thing. All the supporting characters are great too. The mystery will keep you guessing.

Edam and Weep by Linda Reilly takes us back to Carly Hale’s Grilled Cheese Eatery in Vermont, although today finds her at a fundraiser for the local high school’s gym floor which had been damaged by water. It is a 1950’s diner theme which works perfectly with grilled cheese. The booth next to her is a soda booth but the man running it is extremely unpleasant. In fact, he is kind of a bully which is what her mother, Rhonda Hale Clark saw when she arrived and she let him have it. Naturally she was caught on any number of cell phones so when he ended up dead, the police came a’calling. Carly is beside herself that her mother is in this much trouble. And Mom is stressed about it. One can see it in her face and hear it in her voice. Carly can’t resist investigating, promising Ari, her fiance, that she won’t get involved beyond that. No one believed that, even Carly.
This is a cute cozy series. Ari and Carly are due to get married in just a month and she really doesn’t have time for this investigation, but it’s her mom! These are friendly and pleasant characters, the reoccurring ones at least. Her staff is always willing to cover for her, which too often allows her to get in trouble. The mystery was complex, involving hidden identities, which she got all wrong, by the way. It is a short, sweet novel that always makes me smile.
I was invited to read Edam and Weep by Beyond the Page Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #BeyondThePagePublishing #LindaReilly #EdamAndWeep

We return to Balsam Dells and find Grilled Cheese Restaurant owner Carly Hale working a booth at the high school fundraiser while also finishing last minute wedding details for her upcoming wedding to local electrician, Ari. Ari sister has also arrived in town with a little girl, Quinne, she is trying to adopt and with some personal difficulties. If all that wasn't enough, one of the other booth operators at the fundraiser ends up dead and Carly's mom is the prime suspect! Can Carly find the real killer and keep her mom out of jail in time for the wedding?
What a fun read. that will you with a warm feeling and a smile. I enjoy all the secondary characters and as they all have personalities that really add to the story. The staff at the restaurant are like a family and it was nice to see glimpses of what is going on with them during the story. I also felt that that showing Brice, our victim, as a fleshed-out character who besides someone having a reason (in their mind) to kill him, he also wasn't totally a villain was a nice twist. The mystery had me guessing Just when I thought I knew, then they had an alibi. There were so many things I loved about this book and really no criticisms except I want the next one tomorrow! I thought Quinne was so precious and I really hope we get to see more of her. Havarti, as always, brings the cuteness!
