I honestly couldn't put this book down. I don’t want to spoil too much because everyone deserves to experience this story fresh, but I have to get my thoughts out.

The plot had me hooked from page one. I loved the characters, the sharp banter, and the found family element (so good!). There was drama—just the right amount—and none of it felt forced or frustrating. Honestly, that’s rare for me.

And the yearning?! THE. YEARNING. It was everything. Oh, and the spice? Yeah... the spice was spicing. 🥵🥵🥵

From start to finish, this book was perfection in my eyes. Now I need a physical copy to sit pretty on my shelf because this one deserves to be shown off. 💅

I was not expecting to like The Heir by Sophia Travers as much as I did. It was not the normal type of book I gravitate towards, even so I was still intrigued by it. I had my doubts when it started out because of the slow pace, but it only got better. The two main characters figuring out their feelings for one another had me invested. A really enjoyable book. I would recommend it to anyone who really likes "enemies to lover’s” books.

This was a genuine, glued to my kindle read and I can’t be more thankful to both Author Sophia Travers and NetGalley.

The story is based around our FMC, Emory who marries for convenience while trying to repair her status within an ostentatious society. I loved following her journey and getting to know her softer side.

The banter between Emory and our MMC Aiden had me giggling!!! Aiden is broody and confident but there are layers that we get to slowly unravel through the story.

This was such a swoon worthy read and I now want to be sailing away on a yacht somewhere. It was fun, romantic, captivating and HOT. The tension could be cut with a knife and the spice is utter perfection!

The whole book was perfectly paced and found myself swept away by the romance and lust. Such a fun read, I loved every bit of it.

I absolutely adore this book, i couldn't put it down. Enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience; immediately im hooked. I love how both our MC's are falling for eachother at the same time, the witty banter, mutual flirting, dual pov😍
They're both so vulnerable in different ways, but help eachother become stronger. I LOVED this book and stayed up until nearly 3am just to finish it

I ready so many books a year and I always find a few that will stay with me. This is one of those books. The love and hate relationship that will melt your heart and make you fall in love with the Prince family. I love all of the quirky imperfections of Aiden and Emory. I couldn’t put this book down and now I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

This was my first book by Sophia Travers, but won't be the last - I'm definitely intrigued for the rest of this series and the other siblings! I enjoyed the enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience tropes, and thought the banter between Aiden Emory was well done. I liked watching their relationship develop, and enjoyed the side characters (siblings and bodyguard). The writing style didn't work 100% for me, but I'll still be reading the next book to see what happens!

This was my first Sophia Travers book, and I really liked it. Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope, so I was hooked right away.

Aiden and Emory come from rival families and agree to get married to settle a land issue. The chemistry between them was great, and I loved how their relationship slowly turned into something real. Emory is smart and guarded, and Aiden is sweet, thoughtful, and secretly a big romantic.

There were so many cute moments, like daily facts and crossword games. The side characters, especially the Prince siblings and Dusty the dog, added so much charm.

The pacing was a little slow in parts, but overall it was a sweet, fun romance that I’d recommend for a cozy summer read.

The Heir is an enemies to lovers romance with feuding families. Emory and Aiden are willing to do anything to get their hands on a certain piece of land, but does anything include marriage to your sworn enemy? I loved Aiden and Emory’s characters so much. They had me laughing, crying, and rolling my eyes the whole time. The chemistry between Aiden and Emory leapt right off the page. The banter between the two of them was everything. If banter was an Olympic sport Emory and Aiden would get the gold. This romance was full of relatable characters that you will love or love to hate. One of the best contemporary romances that I have read in a while. I can’t wait to read Tristan’s story.

I had some doubts when the book started as I didn’t love the set up of the story but boy did that marriage of convenience delivered. Putting aside that I wasn’t convinced by the family rivalry and the dispute around the land, the rest of the story was pretty amazing. The apparent hatred between Emery and Aiden, only used to hide their attraction for many years, and then the slowly getting to know each other and turning it into feelings by realising the other person is nothing like they thought - so well done. The book turned emotional as they learnt more and started falling for each other, but still funny with their little competition and constant back and forth between them so entertaining. I really love a book where she’s mean to him and he likes it.

The Heir is a marriage of convenience billionaire romance between a couple from opposing families. The setting within a luxurious estate with a polo field and a secret garden was a highlight. I really liked both main characters, Aiden and Emory, and their backstories. The flirty banter between them was wonderful and their initial dislike of each other was very believable. Aiden’s siblings, Katie and Leo were great side characters.

I found the first 25% of the book quite slow and it took me a while to get invested in the story although I started to enjoy it more towards the middle. It took a frustrating amount of time for Aiden and Emory to admit their feelings though which made parts of the story feel repetitive, but there were also lots of sweet moments that made me emotional. Emory’s letter made me tear up and the ending was very sweet.

While it’s not a new personal favourite, I think The Heir could be worth a read if you’re looking for a cosy billionaire romance.

I’m speechless, this book made me feel everything, right from the beginning I was hooked, I mean if you love angst, enemies to lovers and found family this is for you I promise you there is never a dull moment and you’ll be swooning over the characters in no time 🙂‍↕️💕
As I started this book I didn’t realize there was going to be such depth to the story, but there was and I couldn’t help but feel so seen and mirrored in EmAiden’s story because sometimes what you need is to be seen, to be loved just by who you are and know that that is more than enough, and I think all of us yearn to have a support system that will be with you no matter what and to be surrounded by people who uplift you ♥️

And can I just say I can’t wait to read Tristan and Katie’s story and to get to know more of this universe I’m officially impatiently waiting and so ready for 2026 🫶🏼

Tropes: Lost connection, old crush, rich hero, not-that-rich? heroine, angst, pining

Honestly this book deserved 5 stars. IF ONLY it had stopped when the going was good. Unfortunately, it just couldn't recognize a good thing and kept going on and on and on.... (you get the idea).

This is a book full of GOOD ANGST. You know the kind...? it makes your heart stop? The kind where you are IN IT. The only problem is... it doesn't STOP.

The story was just too long. I think a good 1/3 of it could have been edited out, and the outcome would have literally been the same. Both the MMC and the MFC are crazy about each other, had decades long crush ON EACH OTHER. TELL EACH OTHER THAT THE OTHER PERSON IS THE REASON FOR THEIR HAPPINESS AND PROGRESS. EVERYONE (including the readers!) CAN ALSO SEE THIS. And yet they distrust each other SO much that they literally act like young adults in their 20s rather than people who are 30. Also, the Hero is like The Heir and Super rich and yet the heroine DONATES 100K to the local high school. And apparently has done so many times before....SO IS SHE NOT RICH?

Also, there was no mention of the MMC and MFC going to work...? Like, Ok the MMC is a rich bastard and yet in all interactions, he's home chilling reading romance books ( I mean, no shade, because same, but I got a day job yo, so I have to manage the addiction, ya know?), hasn't left the house in a year??? I mean there is literally no mention of the winery (is that what it's called, the place where their family made whiskey?) And what happened to MMC's MOM? Did she run away? Abandon the kids - die? (Inquiring minds want to know!)

The MFC's parents are also just a means to an end. There is literally barely any interaction between her and her parents, but when the big conflict happens, they are suddenly there. And everything is ok? Also, yes, we know that the MMC and MFC love each other. That's what the whole book was about. We did not need two different Epilogues about it ( I think?)

Thank you for the eARC! This was my first book by Sophia Travers and I LOVED it! I read this book in a day and had the best time doing so- it is so fun, easy to follow and gave the perfect amount of plot, dialogue, and slow burn/yearning to spice. The book follows Emory Hunter and Aiden Prince, who come from families that hate each other. Based on this, they have been rivals/enemies their whole lives with a lot of tension between them. Now as adults, they are entering a marriage of convenience for mutual benefit. From there they have to consider whether they really hate each other or if it is something else. I really enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Emory and Aiden-it was done SO well. The dual POV was great because we got to see both of their perspectives and how ultimately they were both down so bad for one another. I loved how we got to see the different layers to Aiden and Emory, the side characters who were endearing, and also the descriptions of the estate and New England vibe. This was a perfect summer read and I CANT WAIT for the series to continue! I will be requesting the next one as soon as its available. highly recommend!

I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s a rivals to lovers from opposing families and the banter between the mc’s is my favorite. It was nice to see the fmc as someone strong and independent. Emory as the only daughter was trying to prove that she fit into her father’s work life like her brothers. I also enjoyed seeing the friendship between her and Aiden’s siblings. Aiden was a great character and you could really see his love for his family was big. I loved that he fought for him and Emory to stay together despite his grandfathers interferences. Aiden and Emory were very cute and it felt like a long wait for them to get together but it was worth it. They were able to prove that despite them being from rival families who didn’t want them together their love was bigger. Thank you Netgalley for the arc, I really appreciate it.

This is a bingeable, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance that hits all the right notes. With echoes of a modern Romeo and Juliet, the story follows two fiercely competitive characters caught in a web of family expectations, rivalry, and undeniable chemistry.

The dual POV format makes it easy to fall into both characters’ perspectives, especially as their dynamic shifts from animosity to obsession. Their constant back-and-forth, always trying to outdo the other, fuels the tension throughout.

And yes — the spice is definitely there. At 3.5 chili peppers, this book doesn’t hold back when it matters 👀.

If you love hate-to-love tension, academic rivals, or just romances that are impossible to put down, this one is a must-read.

This was such a fun read! I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was hilarious, the banter between Aiden and Emory was brilliant, the back and forth between them had you on the edge of your seat. The spice? Let's just say, it was very steamy and on point.
Emory is a fierce FMC who is trying to prove her worth, well I don't know how she didn't know her worth from the get go but still, Aiden is a swoon worth character, kind of reminds me of the relationship between the viscount and kate in Bridgerton.

Highly recommend!

Absolutely ate this the hell up. Enemies to lovers is my absolute jam and it is SO well done here. I’m a sucker for bickering and top tier banter and this has it in spades. OMG. I couldn’t get enough of Emory and Aiden. Their chemistry was off the charts and the spice was so, so good I was over here fanning myself. The author wrote such an immersive story with an amazing cast of characters. I need more of this series ASAP.

This was my first book by Sophia Travers, and I really enjoyed it! Why? The answer’s simple—Enemies to lovers? I didn’t even think twice before requesting it. This is hands down my favourite trope! Add in some spice? It’s absolutely swoon-worthy.

Aiden and Emory come from two very different worlds, with a long-standing rivalry between their families. But in an unexpected twist, they agree to settle a land dispute by getting married.

Right from the first page, the chemistry and tension between Aiden and Emory could be seen. Emory Hunter is one of the most intelligent and bold FMCs I’ve read —black-cat energy, fiercely independent, guarded, but once she opens up, she’s incredibly warm and lovable.And Aiden? He’s a total heart-stealer. The way he takes care of Emory? Chef’s kiss. He reads her favourite romance novels (from her list!), buys them for her, and wears glasses while reading. Excuse me while I melt 😭. He's charming, confident (yes, he looks good in a polo), but also thoughtful and emotionally grounded.

Aiden is the eldest sibling in his family and has always carried the weight of responsibility. He grew up believing he couldn't show emotions. But after marrying Emory, he finally learns what it means to live, to love, and to laugh freely.

They heal each other in such a natural, heartwarming way that you don’t even realise when they fall in love—it just happens. The little details—like competing in the morning crossword puzzle or writing one fact about themselves daily to get to know each other—absolutely made me smile.

And how could I forget the adorable, Dusty? He deserves a mention! Also, a shoutout to the Prince siblings—what a chaotic yet lovable bunch. Their banter, warmth, and the way they embrace Emory made me want to be part of their family, too.

If you're looking for a summer read featuring rival families, old money vibes, a man who is always their for his "wife", FMC with black cat energy, and loads of banter, then The Heir is definitely for you.
