YA angels are a must-read for me! Unfortunately, this one fell flat. I can't handle all the complaining, without doing anything to fix it. I think I could have enjoyed the plot if I liked Camille at all- I just didn't connect or care about her.

This book was one of the first advanced copies that I ever got and that meant a lot to me. However as time went on and I kept trying and trying to get further in this book, this meant that I wanted to keep trying because it meant so much. But that couldn't save me from eventually DNF'ing this book. The concept sounded really interesting, especially with the high society element and that is what drew me in. What drew me away however, was a combination of the chapter lengths and writing. The chapters felt extremely long and even with the speed reading feature, were 10+ minutes long. The writing part came in with the fact that it just felt very middle grade/childish. Maybe it's because I grew out of middle grade right around the time that I tried to read the book, I don't know. I greatly appreciate the publisher and author giving me a chance as a fledging blogger and wish the book and author all the best.

Well, this book was good, until the sudden onset of 'developing supernatural abilities'.
The writing style wasn't for me, it seemed to be telling you everything, not leaving any room for my imagination to run wild.
The protagonist, I found her to be rather naive and quite wingey? Upset that her new abilities will ruin her life, when really, her life is only just beginning.

Such an interesting concept. Totally something I'd recommend to my students.

Flight was a great introduction to a series. I loved Camille and thought she was a strong character. She was really coming into her own towards the end there. Speaking of the ending, I LOVED it. Oooh I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. My only critique is that Graves' disease appeared to be running rampant in this group. Various characters' eyes widened a whopping 98 times through the course of this story (yes, I did a search in my Kindle app and counted). It bugged me a bit by the middle of the story, but it was not as distracting towards the end when everything was going down. Great story though, and I will definitely read the next one!
