Loved. Five stars. No notes.

Jk. I have notes because this book and the audio was fantastic.

Teddy Hamilton + Savannah Peachwood = perfect duet audio

Essie and Nate are so similar, both nerdy but hot. Both love Tristan and Rix. Both are competitive AF (that limbo scene had me cackling). And they are both are so vulnerable.

I love how that sexual tension just snapped and they were like LETS DO THIS! Hells yes. I loved their banter and how competitive they were (even in bed). They were so good together

Things that made me giggle:
•Flip calling Nate Honey Bear
•The Limbo Scene
•The pants scene
•cliff jumping and Hemi’s brothers
•every time Flip hit on Essie
•the old ladies
•Kodiak’s clinginess to lavender (+ again the pants scene)

Anyways, this book was so good and i can’t wait for Helena to release the next few books!

ARC/ ALC Review I COULD BE YOURS
By HELENA HUNTING
Spicy:🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
Star:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ INFINITY

Helena, you’ve done it again! You created a story that had me laughing, swooning, and totally invested from start to finish. I loved how this book stayed grounded in the wedding setting, giving us fun cameos and more insight into the Toronto Terror crew—if you haven’t read that series yet, please do yourself a favour and dive in. It’s 100% worth it.

Now let’s talk about the audiobook! Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood absolutely nailed this duet narration. Teddy is one of my all-time favourite male narrators (right up there with Jason Clarke and Joe Arden), and together with Savannah, they brought Nate and Essie to life in the most vivid, heartfelt way. From the steamy scenes to the flirty banter to the emotional breakthroughs, they made it all feel like a movie playing in my mind. Their voices captured every nuance, making it impossible not to fall in love with these characters.

Whether you’re reading or listening, this story is a slow-burn, opposites-attract romance that delivers heart, heat, and humour in the best possible way. One of my favourite reads in the series—Helena’s storytelling just keeps getting better!

This is a standalone but interconnected to the Toronto Terror series. What I love most about this series in general is the found family and group of girlfriends better known as the
"Badass Babe Brigade" I mean come on who doesn't love strong female friendships!

Essie knows she is gorgeous and is sunshine personified but finds herself looking for more than physical connection, especially with the nuptials of her platonic love of her life and BFF Rix getting married. Knowing the best man is Nate who shared a kiss with 6 years ago and was ghosted.

Nate can't seem to stay away from Essie even though he knows she loves....love and that's the last thing he wants. Jadded by his mother leaving and his long time girlfriend cheating he's done with ever committing and giving his heart away. Even seeing his brother getting married to the love of his life doesn't sway him.

Having to "work" together as best man and maid of honor these two are 🥵🔥 when they finally give in....physically at least. But as they plan they teach each other what they have been missing. Essie showing Nate love, Nate giving Essie encouragement around her intelligence instead of looks.

We get all our favorites heading to a destination wedding and all the things going wrong that made this book a true rom-com, second chance, found family and steamy read. Throw this in the beach bag for an escape while catching some rays 🌞

Can't wait for Flip and Tally's story! IYKYK

4.7/5✨
3/5🌶️

So grateful that I was able to read and listen to this lovely book🥰. I love these narrators and had the best time while I listened to it🤭. I loved the way it was built, respecting the voice of each character, not trying to pretend to be the man or woman when it was their chapter. It's my favourite way of listening to a book, being immersed easily into the story. Many thanks to Helena and team for accepting me for these early copies🤗.

Essie and Nate were currently in a loathing relationship, after something he did when they were younger. That hurt was still affecting Essie, not making the best decisions when it came about men. But against all that, both had to be part of their friends celebration, because Rix and Tristan were getting married and they were part of the organizational team.

Serendipity made them share more time together than Essie and Nate wanted to because, can you believe it or not, their plans coincided and that meant that they would be at the same place and same period. All the time they spent together made them open their eyes and see how attracted to one another they were, even if the animosity was still very present. The constant tension threw these two in each others arms and had a funny secret romance. But could they get pass over their uncertainties and unsolved issues to explore what they had beyond those days? Nate had really strong feelings against love, because of some events from his life.

It was so much fun to follow these two sides of this story: the wedding celebration and the secret romance. On the outside everything was all joy and happiness but things weren't that pretty. Why? Because Nate was hiding so many feelings which were deeply hurting him and he tried his best to keep his siblings away from all the bad things. Essie succeeded in taming these dark thoughts of Nate and even melted his frozen heart. Even though this was a more sensitive side, the wedding celebration brought to life the joy and good vibes, especially because these events took place on a very beautiful scenery, a luxurious beach. I was super invested in the banter of Nate and Essie, being super fun and I liked the secrecy of their relationship.

I just loved the vibes of this book, being a perfect read for the summer days. It was a complex story, but it still had those good vibes of a comfy summer read. I liked that the characters had been built really well and that there wasn't any unnecessary drama. I truly recommend it, if you wanna read a summer vibes book, mixed with some fun from the wedding side and a lots of banter.

I Could Be Yours can be read as a standalone, but it’s connected to the Toronto Terror series and the Tilton University series. It might be a little confusing if you haven’t read those books because many, especially the Toronto Terror, characters are in this book.

Nate and Essie had known each other for years, and they kissed once, but Nate ghosted her after that. Six years later, they had to work together as the best man and maid-of-honor for Nate’s brother and Essie’s best friend’s wedding.

The chemistry between these two was so strong. And they were total opposites. Essie wanted a real relationship with someone, and Nate was afraid of relationships. They agreed to a FWB situation, but they couldn’t deny their feelings.

Nate was broken, and he had to work through his trauma. And even though Essie was positive, supportive, and really sunshiney, she couldn’t help him because he didn’t want that help.

This was cute, angsty, and gave off all those emotions that weddings somehow seem to bring out in people.

Audiobook notes:
Narrated by: Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton
Narration Style: Duet

The narrators did an amazing job bringing the story and characters to life! Both were perfectly matched for their respective character.

Nate and Essie’s story was everything! These two have a history—one that's full of unresolved hurt and emotions—and watching them navigate all of that while trying to be the best man and maid of honor? Pure gold.

What I loved most was how they slowly started seeing each other as the people they are now, not just the people they used to be. The bond they rebuilt felt so real and heartfelt. And the romance? Absolutely swoon-worthy. Classic Helena!

The banter was top-tier (as always), and I couldn't get enough of it. It brought so much warmth and humor to the story. The way the found family was woven in just made it even better—those side characters added so much depth and heart.

Overall, this was another must-read from Helena. The story, pacing, plot, and especially the character development were spot-on. I couldn’t stop!

Essie is fun loving, and determined to be the best Maid Of Honor to her bestie as possible. She is organized and meticulous. Nate is the grumpy best man who is forced to plan wedding festivities with Essie. Did I mention they have a history? 6 years ago Nate and Essie kissed. Then Nate ghosted her!
The witty banter and changing relationships in this book make me want to read it all over again. I also NEED to read Helena Hunting's Toronto Terror Series so I can get to know the many friends in the wedding party.
I had the privilege of getting an advanced listeners copy (ALC) from Netgalley. I HIGHLY recommend listening to this audiobook. The narrators Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton (swoon) really bring these characters to life. They also recorded it in Duet narration. This means it sounded like they were in the same room, just talking to each other. It made the witty banter so much better.

I can always count on Helena Hunting to deliver a story that simply makes you feel happy. The banter, the friendships, the found family. All of it draws me in and keeps me hooked from start to finish. Essie and Nate have known each other since high school and didn’t end on the best of notes. Their journey from resentment to love checks all the boxes you need in a good second chance romance. And last but not least….. THE NARRATORS. This audiobook was top tier. Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Peachwood did the narration duet style and made the story so much better.

The hockey world that Helena Hunting has created is my happy place. Nate and Essie’s story is so fun and spicy, and filled with heart. I really loved the way Helena Hunting built a story with these characters at the center while also bringing in people we love from her other books- Lavender (and her white bikini, IYKYK) and Kodiak!! This book had me laughing out loud at times and feeling so deeply for the characters at others. I Could Be Yours can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend at least reading the Toronto Terror series (if not the rest of her hockey world) to really get the full story.

The narration was great and really made the story feel so close to my heart. I loved the emotion that the voice actors brought to this story.

This story definitely had plenty of laughable moments, but I was drawn more to the parts dealing with past trauma and all the feelings that go with it. There are some pretty serious and inspirational moments that give this story a great depth. I thought the breakup (which I normally hate) was set up perfectly and added to the story. Can’t leave out the insane chemistry between Nate and Essie once they gave in to urges. The nerdy dirty was hilarious! Narrators nailed it.

Essie and Nate are adorable. She drives him absolutely crazy with her rainbows and sunshine personality.

Even with the baggage Nate carries you can see that he has cared for Essie since they were younger.

The two are forced to work together on his brother and her best friend’s wedding. As any good grumpy/sunshine telling the two are competitive with each other. It does bring good laughs. Great times for the friends and families.

Definitely a must read. As with and Helena Hunting book. Cannot go wrong.

Sweet and spicy, Helena Hunting’s latest in her Toronto Terror hockey series is such a treat! These two, Essie and Nate are more team adjacent. Essie is a professional makeup artist & Rix’s bestie, and Nate is an engineer & Tristan’s brother. While the whole crew is on vacation for Rix and Tristan’s (If You Hate Me) destination wedding, Nate and Essie realize that maybe a week-long fling is just what they need.

“I realize that somewhere along the way this did stop being about just the sex. What would she say if I wanted more than this week?”

Essie and Nate’s romance is the perfect summer pool or beach read! Their growing trust and vulnerability with each other was such beautiful to read. And the friend/family group is always a treat, especially the Badass Babes! Though this could work as a standalone, I recommend starting with Rix and Tristan’s to be fully up to speed on the whole crew. The audiobook is also amazing - Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton are impeccable as Essie and Nate, and it’s in Duet!
I received an advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.

“Because when this week is over, I’ll be Essie, and he’ll be Nate. But we’ll never be Nate and Essie.”

Nate and Essie have history. Undiscussed, left to fester, super hot history. Neither knows how to approach it so they’re just dance around each other pretending they don’t like one another to hide their vulnerabilities. After six years of doing this they are forced to spend time together as the maid of honor and best man at their siblings upcoming wedding (Tristan and Rix from the Toronto Terror series 🙌🏼.)
They both have emotional baggage they need to sift to but what’s unavoidable for them is that with all this time together they cannot resist each other. It’s chemical, it’s deep in their souls, and nothing can stop that pull. This story was emotional, hilarious, and had the excellent character growth that I love from a Helena Hunting book.
I love how they loved each other for who they are exactly as they are and that they both wanted to support one another to be their best selves. Plus we got tons of Rix and Tristan, who are my favs, and little snippets of the rest of the terror and Tilton gang which is always the best!

“She’s everything I’ve ever wanted, and I’ll spend the rest of my life making sure her heart is cared for in the same tender way she cares for mine. My sunshine-and-rainbows other half. The love of my life. The woman of my dreams.”

I received an ARC and started reading this book and loved what I was reading. Then I received my ALC and finished this book so fast I had to start over.
I love how Helena brings together couples who make no sense and yet flourish when they are together.

Nate and Essie are ying and yang, but there worlds come together and they become one.
When your 17 and 16 years old, love is awkward, erratic, and beautiful and cautious. A kiss can lead to more and yet Nate and Essie were not meant to be more. Years later seeing your best friends in love can bring back years of longing and a spreadsheet is Nate and Essie love song.
The tug of war these two have towards each other is true of all relationships and Nate going to therapy and Essie letting Nate figure out his heart and not giving in to wanting to fix him breathes life into how you wish all relationships should be.
Thank you for showing true love in true form.

This one was sweet, with some depth and angst, as well as spice and swoon. The characters are likeable and I definitely felt the tension and draw between them. I was fortunate to receive both an ALC and ARC, so I became fully immersed in the world of Nate and Essie.

Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite male voice actors, so I was excited to find that he was narrating. He has a quirky and distinctive tone that I enjoy, and he made Nate irresistible. Savannah Peachwood always does a wonderful job with her voices, and this was no exception. She made Essie's uptight and organized tendencies seem almost cute and definitely relatable.

I loved seeing glimpses of characters from Helena's previous stories, and how the world all ties together. I am definitely reading whatever comes next!

Thank you to the author for having me on your team and for my gifted copies. I am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

I Could Be Yours is so addictive I couldn’t stop once I started it. Nate, hot geek extraordinaire. I loved him and his entire vibe. His emotional demons and how they hold him back. Essie, beautiful ray of sunshine. She’s more than just her beauty, she’s smart and so creative, and Nate reminds her of that.

The audiobook is amazing, my guy Teddy Hamilton plays Nate perfectly and Savannah Peachwood is flawless as ever as Essie.

This song is Essie and Nate’s. Like, it’s perfect for them, no notes!

I Could Be Yours is a 5 star read IMO I’ve loved this whole series 💗

This book is one of my newest favorites! I love the Toronto Terror world and that we get to see Rix and Tristan get their dream wedding.

Nate and Essie have known each other since they were young. Essie is best friends with Rix so of course she will be the maid of honor at the wedding. Nate is Tristan’s brother and best man. This means that Nate and Essie will be very close during the festivities. It’s unfortunate for Essie because she will be forced to be around the man who ghosted her years ago.

The tension and banter between these two had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The way that Nate knew that Essie would be more than he could handle and didn’t want to hurt her made me feel for him. He let his past determine his future and it cost him until now. I love that Essie is herself no matter what. She is sunshine and everything sweet with a love of princesses. Even when Nate is being a storm cloud it doesn’t deter her. Their relationship is beautiful because of the healing before they get together.

The narrators absolutely brought this story to life and made me fall even more in love with it.

I love this series! (Even though this isn't considered part of the Toronto Terrors series, I count it) The characters are wonderful and their stories keep me reading. Nate and Essie's story was filled with different emotions. It was one of those where you aren't choosing sides because you can see the reasons why everyone feels the way they do. This one didn't make me cry but it did made me laugh....alot! I am always up for a good romcom. The ending was perfect. And the narrators did a great job! Can't wait for more Toronto Terror shenanigans. Definitely recommend this book

I have always loved a good friends to lovers situation!!!her besties almost brother-in-law who she crushed on in school but he ghosted her. Understanding his behavior is because he had a bad relationship with his mom so he assumes everyone leaves. Watching them flirt in a hostile way is just everything. Esse and Nate begin sneaking around but of course lies always come out and seeing them find their way back to each other I loved. They are the cutest and I can’t wait to see them as background characters in other stories so I can continue to watch their love grow.
