Seed by Bri Lee is an introspective exploration of creativity, ambition, and the often paralysing pressure to achieve something meaningful. The themes are relatable, especially for anyone grappling with perfectionism or creative block, and there are moments of genuine insight throughout. Lee clearly brings a personal and thoughtful lens to the work, which gives it emotional weight.
However, I found the writing style difficult to connect with. The prose often felt dense and overly stylised, making it hard to stay engaged or fully grasp the ideas being explored. While the book raises important questions about purpose and persistence, the delivery felt more like a stream of consciousness than a cohesive narrative, which may not suit every reader. Overall, it’s a thought-provoking read, but not one that fully landed for me.
