The Silent Guest by Sally Rigby was a thrilling read, I was hooked from the start and I was so eager to work out what had happened. There were so many twists in the story and some were really shocking.
A fast-paced and suspenseful read; the authors have created realistic and complex characters and the plot is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing.
This immediately caught my attention and I didn't want to stop reading.
I liked the development of the characters and didnt feel anyone was lacking in development.
The story itself was very well put together and the style of writing was perfect.
The build up to the reveal of this information was so exciting and the pace increased. I couldn’t stop reading the ending until I had finished it. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it.
Thank You NetGalley and Storm Publishing for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Wow a really wonderful book woven with intrigue and filled with interesting complex characters, lots of twists and turns and mayhem. Vivienne hires a housekeeper to stay the weekend to take care of her dog. Many strange incidents occur afterwards making her uncomfortable in her own home. I was on the edge of my seat to the very end! A real page turner and a must must read!

This one’s chilling, sneaky, and totally addictive, with gaslighting, revenge, and secrets buried deep. It’s psychological suspense at its twisty best.

Vivienne is recommended a dog sitter from her husbands colleague so she can go away for the weekend. Amelia aka Milly is not what she appears and Vivienne feels it in her gut. She ignores her feelings and strange things start to happen where she feels she’s losing her mind.
You don’t find out what happened in the past for all this to come about until 75% in. I found that part to cause a slow burn for this book. I will say that I did not see the twist coming. I kept thinking was Tom a kid she gave up for adoption. Did she call DCFS on a family and that’s why Tom was in foster care. I was far off on all my guesses.
Overall I rated it average due to it being repetitive. I enjoyed the sabotage part of the book and the characters. A few loopholes for me but overall it was worth the read. Thank you to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this advance copy.

THE SILENT GUEST BY SALLY RIGBY.
Released today.
This book is so twisty and keeps you on your toes throughout.
Multiple POVs.
There's a twist I didn't see coming at all.
Highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a twisty suspenseful psychological thriller

The Silent Guest is a character-driven psychological thriller. The novel is packaged as a revenge-laced game of proximity, perception, and pressure that asks how easily a happy life can be pushed off balance. The first half for me was a slow burn, immersing you in both women’s lives; then the twist hits and the wrap-up comes fast. It is a quick read told in dual POV along a singular timeline with a few flashbacks.
I predicted a couple turns (not all the details), but I thoroughly enjoyed the crisp chapters, clean prose, smart structure, and well-drawn characters. I enjoyed Rigby’s writing style; it’s straightforward and confident, with just enough texture to make scenes pop.
The novel uses a tight two-person point of view (Vivienne and Amelia) which I quite like. The structure lets you live inside both women’s heads: one spiraling, one orchestrating which adds to the suspense. The near-alternating chapters create a cat-and-mouse rhythm that sustains tension even before the big reveal. The book leans into deception, obsession, and the idea of a “perfect” life.
After the twist, the resolution ties off quickly; I wanted a few more pages to live in the fallout.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the electronic advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. Publication is scheduled for August 14, 2025.

They say revenge is a dish better served cold right - choosing the optimal time to strike to lead to a more satisfying outcome...
Well this dish was served COLD 🥶 Im mean how far would you go to seek revenge?
This was definitely an addictive bingeworthy thriller that I devoured in one sitting. Told over duel POVs, Vivienne requires a dog sitter cue Amelia a complete stranger who now has access to your life...!
A gripping thriller that will definitely mess with your head.. That shocking end twist 😳
This was my first taste of a Sally Rigby.. cannot wait to delve more, thanking you to Storm Publishing & Netgally for an ARC in return for my honest thoughts
I

Holy smokes! I was HOOKED from Amelia’s very first step into Vivienne’s life and home. As Vivienne began to question everything around her, so did I — What is the motive behind everything? What secrets are being kept, and who can I really trust? And just when I felt like it was all coming together and I’d figured it out, Sally Rigby pulled the rug from beneath my feet and knocked the breath out of me with another twist! Five stars! I could NOT stop reading!

Oh wow, this was so good it read very similar to other authors I've read and this one had me intrigued from the first page right until the last. Twisty and clever I really didn't know how this would end but, I loved it. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I love a book that grabs me and I just don’t want to put down.
This is a definite binge worthy book!
Thrillers are definitely my favourite genre and I would recommend this novel!

The Silent Guest is a unique thriller that you won't see coming. I devoured in one sitting. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Vivienne Campbell is a good mother, a great wife, and loves her home and dog Willow so much. Vivienne and her daughter Lola must travel. Therefore, a sitter is needed for Willow. In comes Amelia, who comes highly recommended by an acquaintance of her husband's. Vivienne likes Amelia, but she tends to overthink and fret a lot. Amelia isn't who she claims to be and has her own hidden agenda. To drive Vivienne insane and make her pay for an incident in her past.
The angst and build-up to Vivienne's insanity and odd behavior was great and intense. Both women eventually find out the dark secret they both share and must come to terms with surviving or letting the enemy they share win. Loved this thriller, and the twist was insane just like the book!
Thank you, Netgalley and Storm Publishing, for this ARC. All opinions are entirely my own.

I have read other books by Sally Rigby but this was very different in its tone.
There was intrigue, murder, and manipulation in a very well written book with many twists and turns. It’s certainly a page turner and kept gripped right to the end which was a surprise in itself.
It’s one of those books which is really difficult to write a review for as there would be so many opportunities to give away spoilers.
If you love psychological thrillers then give this book a try, it’s creepy but not really over dark but very, very clever.

This book basically centers around our two main character Vivian and Amelia. Vivian is looking for a housekeeper to help her out with a few things and take care of her dog while she is away for a few days. After a great interview and a glowing recommendation from her friend she has found the perfect woman in Amelia. Or has she really? When her once charming and glowing demener starts to fade Vivian is left spiraling with her sanity over the whole situation. When tiny things are change around her house Vivian is left questioning herself however Amelia has an agenda for being in Vivians life and it isn't to help her that's for sure. This was a really quick thriller that grabbed me from the very beginning. I always love when thriller book center around mysterious and devious character and this one is the perfect example. There were a few perspective changes but they were easily marked so it made it very smooth for the reader to follow along with. I really liked the multiple points of view because it gave so much my more depth and information to the reader. I loved Amelia's character, she was so diabolical that it really made for a nice contrast to the rest of the story. This thriller really kept me on my toes and guessing the whole way through. I couldn't get enough of this story and found myself running back to it every chance I got. It's been a while since I've read a really devious thriller and this was unlike anything I could have inagined. Really great read. If you don't mind a thriller that is on the darker side than I highly suggest this one. The ending of this book left me completely shell-shocked. My mouth fell to the floor and I was completely stunned. That doesn't happen too often where I'm completely thrown for a loop however this one really did just that. Great book to begin with however the ending took it right over the top in the most fantastic way. I'm so glad I got the chance to check it out since it was everything I imagined and then some. I can't wait to read more by this author because of this is how she writes her plots and characters I know that I will devour every word. I wish there was a rating higher than five however a perfect score and then some is what this will get.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this advanced copy. Riveting from the beginning, i had to keep reading to see what was going to happen. A great mystery with great writing!

I found this book had twists and turns of a woman that wanted revenge, that turned into a living nightmare for them. At least her daughter was not affected by what had happened. I enjoy reading her books, plot flow, and the mystery of what happened is finally revealed.
Thanks to Net Galley and Storm Publisher for my arc copy..

When your house sitter sets out to destroy your life and you have absolutely no idea why. This is what happens to Vivienne Campbell when she hires Amelia to house sit for her for the weekend. When she gets home everything changes. She actually thinks she’s losing her mind. But why??
This was an amazing unputdownable book for me. Had my full attention from the first page to the very last. And the twist!!! WHOA!
I 100% recommend this book.

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Amelia is here to a job done, whether or not that job is pet sitting is another thing. Lies, secrecy and mind blowing plot twists, The Silent Guest has it all.
This thriller has two point of views, Vivienne and Emlia and both will leave you on the edge of your seat, desperate to have your questions answered.
Lola is Vivienne's daughter and from the very start right until the end I adored her bubbly and playful personality. Amelia on the other hand immediately gives off red flags but in an intriguing way where you don't know her motive.
If you're a fan of thrillers that keep you in the dark and leave you guessing, such as the work of Freida McFadden then The Silent Guest is definitely worth a read.

Sally Rigby delivers another sharp and addictive psychological thriller that proves just how well she can hook a reader, even when the premise treads into territory I’m usually not drawn to. One of the main characters has that catastrophizing, overprotective mindset—not just about her child, but about everything—which is often a turn-off for me. Still, Rigby’s precise, compelling writing quickly pulled me in and made it work.
The pacing is brisk, the tension builds steadily, and there are a few major twists that flip the story on its head. Those shifts not only kept me engaged, but also moved the focus away from the aspects I wasn’t as keen on, straight into more intriguing, high-stakes territory.
It’s a fast, fluid, and entertaining read—perfect for a light summer binge. Not mushy, not meandering, but sharp, tight, and driven by a sense of purpose from page one. Rigby knows how to keep the pages turning and the reader guessing until the very end.
