Wild Rose by Roxanne Tully @roxtully.author is the first book in the Blue River Springs Series. Wilder is running his families ranch by himself while his brother deals with grief. The tasks keep piling up and he needs help. Enter Rose, Wilder’s best friends’ little sister that needs out of New York City for the summer. Wilder reluctantly gives her a job and a place to stay. Rose is not happy about leaving New York but after a traumatizing event maybe a new location will help her heal.
I loved the scenery in this book. I felt transported to a ranch in Colorado. This was your typical grumpy cowboy, fish out of water book. I liked Wilder. I felt like he had a level head on his shoulders. I was frustrated with Rose several times throughout the book. I know she was younger but the decisions she made me want to scream! I am very intrigued by the older brother’s story and will keep reading the series.
Overall, this was a good first book in a series. I think the series has potential. Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy.

Small town ranch? Cowboy? Grumpy boss x employee plot? Loved it!! Great summer beach read. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

If you love small town country romances this is the book for you. The characters and plot are great. There is definitely a lot going on, and this book sets up nicely for the ones that will follow. It is a standalone but it hooks you to where reading the next book is a must!

This really was if Lyla Sage and Elsie Silver had a baby. Rose is fun and lovable and as much as you want to smack Wilder for being hot and cold he was still fun to watch evolve. My only complaint is it feels awfully close to Chestnut Springs it feels a little predictable but so are Hallmark movies and I still love those. I am looking forward to the continuation of the rest of the universe! Great for anyone who loves a good cowboy romance! I think the next couple is going to be fun!

First Person Dual POV 4.0/5.0 stars
This was the perfect cozy read to scratch that small-town, grumpy x sunshine itch.
Rose checks all the boxes for an outgoing, sassy and confident FMC. She shows amazing growth through the story while coming to terms with some previous personal trauma.
Wilder is your classic slightly older and way more grumpy cowboy. He's both her boss and brothers best friend which causes problems in all the right places.
As with most small towns we get some found family with the added bonus of repairing some old family bonds.
Overall, an enjoyable read and I look forward to book 2 in the series
Thanks to the Author, Publisher and NetGalley for providing this free eArc. All opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley and to Embla Books as well as the author for providing me with this ARC, in exchange for my honest review.
OMGG this book was soo good I devoured it. But..to be fair, I love all things cowboy, ranch, farm. Blue River Ranch sounded like a cute place to be in and I was imagining myself in the small town the whole time. This was my first book by Roxanne and I will definitely have to check out more. Also very excited for Fallen Willow!
This book follows Wilder and his best friend's sister Rose. It was very interesting reading the story of Rose and her brother, how protective and annoyed he was with her and would not listen. Having an older brother I could relate. There were so many scenes between Rose and Wilder, especially in the beginning that I loved. The development of their relationship. How caring her was about her, the locks her installed. And I also loved that when the brief breakup happened, she went ahead and decided to better her future instead of sulking in the sadness. Definite 5 stars!

I enjoyed both the main characters in this book equally and their chemistry was sizzling from the start.
Rose is the younger sister and comes to town, in theory, for a short period. There she is to help out Wilder on the ranch and her older brother is also working on the ranch, although he isn't a big main character, so I wouldn't go expecting a lot of brothers' best friend drama.
It is more about how Wilder and Rose evolve and develop individually, especially Rose's growth as well as their relationship.
Cowboy / small town romance / brothers best friend is definitely familiar territory if you like Elsie Silver or Lyla Sage etc and I don't think you will be disappointed, I wasn't and I look forward to the next in the series!
I received this book as an ARC and provide an honest review

I’m sure some people will enjoy this, unfortunately it wasn’t for me.
This book was a slog. The dialogue felt forced and unnatural, which is a pet peeve for me. The characterisation felt wildly erratic; there were several times when I felt like one or more characters were behaving in a way which made no sense. As for the plot, it felt like there was too much happening and things went from zero to one hundred almost instantly then were resolved just as quickly so there wasn’t really any building of tension. It felt like too much of the book was setting up future books in the series. The same could be said for the romance, the pacing felt all off. At points it felt like the relationship was rushed, and for the most part I just can’t see any good reason why Wilder and Rose would love each other.
There’s definitely an audience for this book, but I’m not it. If you’re looking for a small town, cowboy romance with light drama you might enjoy this.
Thanks to Netgalley and Embla Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love a good cowboy romance and this one is no different! wilder and Rose were everything. Their banter was written so well and I could not put the book down. The character development was well written and it was enchanting to read their HEA. This is a slower burn but so worth the wait.
I am excited for book 2!
Thank you so much to Embla books for the ARC.

Such a emotional book! The fmc has a history that is revealed slowly throughout the story. I really enjoyed the way the MMC uses actions to help the fmc to feel safe. Quite a different take on a cowboy romance.

I love a good broody cowboy romance and this book delivered! It follows Wilder and Rose, two complete opposites working together on the Thorne farm.
This book checked all the boxes- slow burn, banter, grumpy x sunshine and brother’s best friend. I loved the dynamics of the MCs and how they developed throughout the story, right until the end.
If you are a fan of Elsie Silver or Maggie Gates, I’d highly suggest reading this book!
A special thanks to NetGalley, Embla Books, and Roxanne Tully for providing me with a digital ARC copy in exchange for my honest thoughts on this novel.

3.5 ⭐️
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this e-ARC🫶
Rose’s brother asks his best friend, Wilder, to let his sister work on the ranch for 6 weeks.
Rose is an artist and a bit impulsive. She struggles at first to adjust to ranch life. Once she and Wilder grow closer, their attraction takes over.
Wilder has been burned before and is hesitant to have any relationship with Rose. Rose opens up to Wilder and shares truths she hasn’t even told her brother. Wilder’s reluctance to open up truly strains their relationship and trust. What happens when it’s time for Rose to head back to the city? Will they overcome their past for a future together?
There was a lot happening with the side characters that distracted me from the plot. Dallas’ character in particular had a lot of page-time. His book is next but I don’t think it’ll be on my TBR.

I requested this arc because I love cowboy books and I thought the cover was SO cute!! It’s city girl x cowboy AND grumpy x sunshine sooooooo right up my alley. 😌 I thought Rose and Wilder were cute but I did think sometimes it was hard to feel the connection between them, I think part of the issue was the story felt a bit stretched out. I did like the dual POV so I could understand both sides when they had a miscommunication. Thank you NetGalley, Roxanne Tully and Embla Books publishing for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

BLUE RIVER SPRINGS, book 1, and I am already dying for the next one. I won't lie, I have never read a Roxanne Tully book before, but you can guarantee that that will all change from now on. Adore Wilder and Rose, and I am a complete sucker for a cowboy romance.

Wild Rose had so many elements and tropes I love — a cowboy romance set in a small town, brother’s best friend, age gap, and that classic city girl meets rugged rancher dynamic. I was so excited to receive an ARC because this book checked so many of my favorite trope boxes, and I did enjoy the story overall!
The premise was great: Rose, in need of a break from her city life, ends up working on a ranch thanks to her older brother... whose best friend just happens to be the grumpy but endearing cowboy and ranch owner Wilder.
The way she finds herself on that quiet ranch away from all her problems in New York was really touching and opposites clearly attracted with her and Wilder! I loved the honesty and vulnerability between them and how their relationship helped them heal in quiet, meaningful ways. The push and pull and will they won’t they was so fun and you couldn’t help but want them to get together!
That said, I did struggle a bit to fully connect with the characters. I would have liked more depth in both their individual arcs and their relationship — things moved quickly, and at times the romance felt slightly rushed and less believable as a result. The third act breakup also felt a little unnecessary and came so late in the book that the resolution didn’t fully land for me emotionally.
Still, the setting was definitely a highlight! The ranch atmosphere was great, and I was actually really intrigued by some of the side characters as well — especially the feuding neighbors and Wilder’s recently widowed brother, who is now navigating life as a single dad. I’d love to return to this world in future books and get to know some of those characters better!
I think Wild Rose will be a great read for fans of cowboy romances who enjoy heartfelt moments, vulnerable characters, and some classic tropes.

I really loved this. This was a fast paced grumpy sunshine cowboy romance and I was hooked from the first page. Wilder and Rose really worked with each other with him helping her open up about her past trauma and her helping him open his heart. I enjoyed watching them slowly fall for each other. This was full of witty banter and small town cosy vibes and this was a strong start to the series and I'm already invested in the other characters and how their stories will go. This deals with some heavy topics that I'm hoping will be expanded on during the rest of the series. Highly recommend if you're a fan of cosy small town cowboy romance.

Wild Rose is a charming small-town cowboy romance that delivers all the classic tropes fans of the genre adore—grumpy/sunshine, slow burn, forced proximity, and a whole lot of tension. Rose, chaotic and full of heart, finds herself working at Blue River Ranch for the summer, where she clashes with Wilder, her brother’s broody best friend, trying to save his family’s ranch.
The chemistry between Rose and Wilder is undeniable, and their journey from butting heads to giving in to their feelings is packed with emotional growth, steamy moments, and plenty of banter. While some moments of miscommunication may frustrate readers, they feel true to the characters, especially considering Rose’s youth and need to grow.
From bar fights and family feuds to vulnerable emotional beats and slow-building intimacy, this book is equal parts heartwarming and spicy. The narration by Ada Sinclair and Davis Brooks also adds a fun and engaging layer to the story.
If small-town, cowboy romance is your thing, Wild Rose is a must-read. It’s a strong start to a promising series, and I’m already counting down the days for Willow and Dallas’s story.
Tropes:
🤠 Cowboy Romance
🌾 Small Town
💥 Grumpy/Sunshine
🔥 Slow Burn
💘 Brother’s Best Friend
👨👩👧 Found Family

What's up with an increase in "cowboy" romances in the romance genre when he's not doing anything cowboy related other than it being on a ranch. Not to mention in this one at least both the hero and heroine got on my nerves.

I loved this. My favourite type of romance is the small town, cowboy romance and this really hit the mark. The characters were really well written and I loved the tension between the MMC and FMC and the relationship with the other characters well.
Definitely one I will be recommending!

This story was so freaking cute!! If life hadn’t been so crazy I would have finished it in one day! I loved the peak into book two and can’t wait for Willow and Dallas’s story. This series will have all my favorite tropes and I am so ready! Rose and Wilder were so precious together and I loved watching them grow close and loved Rose’s approach to breaking down Wilder’s walls. Ada Sinclair and Davis Brooks did a good job narrating this story. It’s my first time listening to them and look forward to listening to them again.
