I always enjoy this author and this audiobook definitely did not disappoint! Amy does such an amazing job of giving you fun romances with some moderately heavy themes and absolutely beautiful love stories. I have read all of the main books and Novelas and will continue to read all of them! And these narrators told her story beautifully!

This book was SO fun! Amy Award's books are always so unserious and a good time. I really loved both main characters and the development of all the characters throughout the book. Tempest was really relatable and felt like a real person not just a character in a book. She had a secret life while also feeling the pressures from her family. I loved both narrators and felt like they really brought the story to life.

My favorite part of the whole book was that there was NO third act breakup! Thank the lords!

This is another great addition to the Cocky Kingman series. I highly encourage you to read the Lion in the Library before reading this book, but it isn't a requirement. It was just so fun to see those two stories intertwine. I loved this story so much. The fact that the FMC is a writer was such a fun spin on things and felt deeply personal. My favorite parts of this series will always be getting to interact with the characters from previous stories and seeing how they come together as such a supportive family. I was a little concerned that the age of the FMC and MMC would feel too immature for me (in my 30s) but I was wrong. These characters had the same mature feel as the rest of Amy's fantastically written characters. This book was another fun escape and I'm already itching to dive into the next one. I usually read and then listen to the books in this series. This audio was so immersive and I highly recommend it if you are an audio lover. Spice 2.5/5 (it's there, but this is a very plot heavy story)

Flynn's finally getting his moment, and it’s about time. Our favorite college playboy is low-key jealous of his brothers and their swoony "woken" love stories (rightfully so), but when Tempest enters the chat—mysterious, whip-smart, and not falling for his usual charm—things start to shift. And it’s delicious.

Tempest is a secret romance author (yes, queen), and Flynn? Surprisingly smart AF, even if he’s probably the least fleshed-out MMC in the series. Still, their chemistry is undeniable, and when he finds out it’s her first kiss?? UGHHHH my heart wasn’t ready.

We’ve got classic tropes: stormy night, one bed, tension for days. Also... there’s a donkey. Did the book need it? Nope. Am I mad about it? Also nope. That’s just how this series rolls—silly, slightly unrealistic, but always a good time.

Lighthearted, cute, and a little chaotic in the best way. If you’ve been loving the series, this one's another fun hit.

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape and Amy Award for an early copy of The Jack*ss in Class!

This book had me laughing, cringing, and low-key swooning the entire time! Jackass in the Class introduces us to Flynn Kingman and Tempest Navarro, two characters who start off as total enemies (despite the undeniable tension between them).

They’re forced to spend time together when they’re paired up for Shakespeare tutoring, and that’s when things start to shift. Flynn, who seems like your typical dumb jock at first, surprises Tempest by showing a much deeper side, especially when he helps her out of a very furry situation (yes, there’s a literal donkey involved and yes, it’s hilarious).

While their connection is growing, Tempest is also juggling a huge secret, she’s actually Miranda Milan, a world famous romance author on the rise. But with her parents being ultra academic and not exactly fans of her books, she’s stuck between trying to live up to their expectations and staying true to who she is.

Meanwhile, Flynn is facing pressure of his own. With the NFL draft looming, the last thing he needs is to fall for someone… but of course, that’s exactly what happens. Love never does come at the “right” time, does it?

This was my first Amy Award book, and I was pleasantly surprised! Some parts were a little cringe (in a cute, teen romcom kind of way), but overall it was a fun, lighthearted read. I loved the banter between Flynn and Tempest, the chemistry was chef’s kiss, and the Kingman family dynamic was totally adorable.

But what really surprised me was how much heart this story had. Beneath the jokes and donkeys, there’s a real story about identity, pressure, and learning to let people in.

I was lucky enough to also receive an ALC of this book, and I really enjoyed the narration by J.F. Harding and Vanessa Vasquez. They had great chemistry, and their performances made it easy to stay engaged. They also brought a surprising depth and emotion to the story, especially in the more playful moments, that I didn’t fully pick up on when I first read it!

If you’re into enemies-to-lovers, secret identities, chaotic tutoring sessions, and unexpected donkeys, this one’s worth picking up!

How does this series just keep getting better and better?

Flynn has a no girlfriend rule, and he has never been tempted to stray from this until he meets Tempest. She has him spinning, and he doesn’t know what to do to get her to see him for more than his reputation.

Tempest is more than she seems; she has a secret she is determined to keep, but outside forces are making it hard for her to be on the down low. Someone wants to out her and not for good reasons.

I enjoyed the heck out of these two, how they come together, how they stand up for one another. It’s a fantastic addition to this series, and the narrator is perfect. I need more of this world.

4 Stars The Jack*ss in Class is my new favorite book in the Cocky Kingmans series by Amy Award! These books are always fun to read--full of witty banter, kick*ss heroines, and heroes who are down bad. Plus lots of clever animal names and adorable animal antics.

Senior linebacker Flynn Kingman has had one goal for years: get into the NFL. But as soon as a mischievous baby donkey brings him straight into the path of Tempest Navarro, he has a new goal: win over the one woman seemingly immune to his charms. Tempest is hiding a lot: her anxiety, a baby donkey in her sorority house, and a flourishing career as a bestselling romance author. She can't believe that Flynn Kingman would actually be interested in her, but when they're forced into a university tutoring program together, their banter turns flirty and eventually into so much more.

I loved Tempest and Flynn! They make such a cute couple and I adored the way he supported her when her hidden identity was made public. He stood by her side as support but didn't try to fix anything for her. He let her take the lead as she learned to take up space. The overall theme of Tempest's journey was taking up space and I loved this. It was perfect for her as a curvy woman of color with a huge hidden career. The Kingmans continue to be an amazing family, protecting those they love most. I already see how Amy Award is setting up the next couple of books and the main characters in them. I especially cannot wait for Jules's book!

Thanks Amy Award and Dreamscape Media for the ARC! The audiobook of The Jack*ss in Class is out now!

I think these books are just too surface level for me. There just isn't a lot of depth to it but it's also not "light and fluffy". just a bit bland. I can understand why people enjoy the books but I don't think I need to continue the series at this point.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this title. I attest that I am leaving my review voluntarily and honestly.

Who knew a book that started out with a football player chasing a donkey, would be so dang cute. I loved this, I thought it was a fun rom com and a fun read! I loved both of the main characters. I loved their banter and insults to each other in the beginning and then you see it turn into adoration and they realize they might actually like each other!

I really loved Flynn and his family. He was so charming and sweet and really knows how to stick up for a girl! He was not your "typical jock."

Tempst is a badass. The way she knew her self worth through this whole book is inspiring!

🎧 5 Stars for The Jack*ss in Class by Amy Award
🎙 Narrated by Vanessa Vazquez & JF Harding
💌 Huge thanks to Amy Award, NetGalley, and Dreamscape Media for the ALC!

Tempest Navarro has anxiety, a bestselling secret, and a baby donkey hidden in her sorority house. Flynn Kingman has a no-girlfriends rule, a football career to protect, and a tendency to chase rogue animals across campus. Naturally, these two were destined for chaos…and for each other.

But let’s talk about the real MVP of this ALC: the narration.

Vanessa Vazquez was everything as Tempest. The raspy warmth, the fire, the sweet vulnerability, and yes, that distinctly Latina cadence that gave Tempest authenticity and soul. There’s just something special about hearing a character voiced by someone who shares her background, and Vanessa nailed every emotion. From sass to softness, Vanessa's performance comes across with beautiful nuance.

JF Harding brought that perfect mix of cocky charm and simmering sweetness to Flynn. His narration hit just right, gruff when needed, tender when Flynn started melting for Tempest. And yes, you will melt when he calls her “mi cielo.”

🎧 Audio Vibes:
Dual narration
Slow, expressive pacing
Emotional authenticity
Perfectly cast voices that match the characters’ heritage and energy

💘 Tropes You’ll Love:
Hate to love
Forced proximity
Secret identity
Plus-size Latina heroine owning her space
Found family + emotional support donkey
No third-act breakup 🙌

Amy Award once again delivers a romance that’s sassy, steamy, and sneakily profound. Tempest and Flynn’s chemistry crackles, and their emotional growth feels real and earned. Also, Tempest standing up to her ultra-judgy Latinx family? Chef’s kiss telenovela-level drama and empowerment. Something that this Latina identified with because family drama is a way of life.

Grab the audio. Trust me. These narrators bring all the heat, heart, and hilarity this story deserves. Can't wait to see which Kingman falls next. 💫

The Jack*ss in Class by Amy Award
Narrator, Vanessa Vasquez
Book Five of the Cocky Kingmans
I have to confess that I was aware of this series but have not read the earlier books but probably will now. So it was initially a little hard to get into the book for that reason. But it was a cute college age romance with a football player and a bit of a nerdy girl with a very overbearing mother.
Romantic, a little spicy, tons of secondary characters, mostly great family with a couple of glaring exceptions. I was glad in the end that the MMC turned the nickname my queen into mi reina. It sounded much better. On that note, there is a fair bit of untranslated Spanish which might be tough for some readers. A tiny bit of tear jerking but not very angsty. Some of the football talk was a bit detailed for me. Lots of female friendship and strength. Body positivity as in all this series.
Narrator was good except I did not like that several characters had nasally voices which I find grating.
PS to author, it’s menudo for hangovers traditionally.
Thanks to NetGalley

I adore all the Kingman brothers, and Flynn is no exception. His story kicks off by chasing a runaway baby donkey across campus, which leads him straight to Tempest. Though he's known for being a charming playboy who avoids commitment, their connection is undeniable. When a tutoring program and a shared class throw them together, sparks start to fly. Flynn surprises Tempest by revealing a deeper, more caring side, especially when she needs it most. Their sweet journey is filled with heart, humor, and adorable donkey antics that had me smiling the whole way through. J.F. Harding and Vanessa Vasquez were absolutely perfect as Flynn and Tempest, bringing their chemistry and also their family dynamics to life flawlessly. This book is a delightful addition to the series, and if you've fallen for the other Kingman brothers, you'll absolutely love this one too.

College sorority sister, Tempest has a secret identity as a popular romance author. Flynn is getting ready to be drafted into the NFL alongside his twin to continue his family’s American football dynasty. Throw in an adorable donkey and these two are a match-made in rom-com heaven!

I was highly entertained by this book from beginning to end! It had me laughing out loud, smiling from ear to ear and definitely blushing!

While this was a very fun rom-com, this is also a story that addresses sensitive topics like body-shaming, familial pressure, identity loss and grief to name a few. The author did a great job of weaving these subjects into the story while still keeping the story pretty light-hearted. I love a man like Flynn who breaks all his rules and proceeds to fall first and hard. Tempest is my favorite type of heroine, one that once she realizes her worth, takes absolute no 💩 from anyone!

This is my first time reading anything by Amy Award and I immediately requested the rest of the books in the series on Libby! I have awhile to wait though because they are highly requested.

J.F. Harding is one of my favorite narrators and one of the reasons I requested this ALC so fast! I say this a lot about narrators I listen to often but he is always a hit for me!

I know this is not the first time I have listened to Vanessa Vasquez but I couldn’t find titles I’ve listened to before, so not sure if this might be another pseudonym. Either way, she did a fantastic job as not just Tempest, but all the female parts in this story. I would love to listen to a story about Abuela Novella narrated by her!

Thank you to the author @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for the ALC!

This book was very fun. It had alot of great laugh out loud moments. And lots of sweet moments too. Since Tempest is a romance writer it was funny watching her almost make fun of sterotypical things that happen in romance books that were happening to her. I love watching her realize that is has great support network around her when her family was not supporting her as the should have. The Kingman's are always great at rallying around the people they care about. Overall this was a fun book.

It was cute but not my favorite. It lacked banter. The characters fell in love to quickly for a Kingmans that had a 2-week with rule with girls since high school.

Book 5 in The Cocky Kingman's series.

This book focuses on Flynn- one of the twins. When a baby donkey runs off during a pep rally, he runs into Tempest. And falls instantly. But she is immune to his charms.

I love the family. I loved book 1. But for whatever reason, I cannot love the rest. I keep reading though, because I love the family. Maybe cut out the romance and just give us family scenes? Kidding, but they are why I keep reading.

Vanessa Vasquez and J.F. Harding narrate the audiobook.

I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

My ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This was a lighthearted, funny, and fast read. MMC falls first for a FMC with a secret occupation.

This fifth installment in the Cocky Kingmans series is a funny, sweet, and heartwarming feel good romance! Flynn Kingman is focused on being drafted to play professional football at the end of his senior year of college. He doesn't have time for a relationship, until he meets the one woman who doesn't fall for his charm and who steals his heart. Tempest Navarro is sweet and innocent as a sorority sister, but she also has a secret identity as a successful steamy romance author. She only sees Flynn as an arrogant jock until they are forced together in the tutoring program, and she sees he has a heart of gold. As they become closer and their chemistry gets hotter, complications threaten her secrets while Flynn faces the hardest decision of his life. This was such a sweet, emotional, and steamy romance. I loved how confident and caring Tempest was, and Flynn was so sweet, thoughtful and swoony. They were so perfect together. I loved how much they supported each other, making each other stronger and more confident. I also loved getting to know the Kingman family better as they added so much fun and heart to this story.
Vanessa Vasquez and J.F. Harding were amazing as they brought this wonderful story to life. They nailed all the characters perfectly, making me feel every emotion they went through, and made me laugh out loud, cry, and totally swoon. They helped make this heartfelt, sweet & steamy romance even more entertaining!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for the advance listener copy of The Jack*ss in Class by Amy Award.

The next installment follows Flynn Kingman. Flynn is in his senior year when he meets, Tempest. In addition to student, Tempest is also secretly a bestselling romance writer. Tempest ends up in the same class as Flynn and both end up in the same tutoring program.

I enjoyed watching Tempest and Flynn get together; particularly Flynn’s feelings for her. I also really liked that when we got to the final act, Tempest had complete trust in Flynn. I also really liked Tempest’s roommate! This installment also brings together the Kingman family and really fun ways.
