I would like to thank the publisher for sending me and audio-arc in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley.

Flynn is in his senior year of college, and all he wants to do is graduate and get drafted to play pro football -- hopefully with his brothers. What he hadn't planned on was falling in love. But then he meets Tempest in his Shakespeare class. So he signs up for tutoring (even though he doesn't need it) in order to spend more time with her. Tempest has a lot of secrets -- between her career as an extremely popular romance writer, something that no one knows, and the miniature donkey that she is hiding in her sorority house, there's a lot on the line for her. What she doesn't need is to fall for Flynn. As the two of them spend time together, they begin to realize that there might not be any fighting of this attraction between them, and Tempest will have to finally write her own happily ever after.

Okay this is exactly what I was missing from the last book. You have an actual plot between Tempest and Flynn with their romance. We have Tempest who is hiding from the world that she's a famous romance author -- including from her own family. There's Flynn who doesn't want to admit that he is scared of being separated from both his twin brother and the rest of his family... honestly it is just absolute perfection. I loved the dynamic between Flynn and Tempest as they navigate their senior year of college, I loved watching Tempest as she stood up to her family and follow her own dreams, but what I really loved about this was getting to see Tempest's family because the drama really did feel like a telenovela at times as see figures out how to come clean about her writing career knowing that her mother will 100% be against it. Seeing how the two of them actually have each other's back was also fantastic. And the best thing? There was no third act break up (yay!!) and it stayed away from a lot of the things that I didn't like about the previous book. The spice was nice and well written, and I loved all the moments between the two of them. The drama made a lot of sense in this book -- unlike the last one. (I think I'm just still angry at the whole Penelope thing, but again, maybe that was just me.) I also like that the next two relationships were hinted at here and I'll be curious to see who will come first. Not only did I absolutely enjoy everything about this book, but the audiobook is also well produced with incredible voice actors doing an amazing job bringing these characters to life. Honestly, I am loving this series and I can't wait for the next one.

I love this series and this latest book did not disappoint! I love Flynn and Tempest and thought they were so well suited for each other. I really likes Tempest and thought that she was a perfect example of following your heart even when it goes against what you know. I think my favorite part of the whole book was at the party after graduation. The entire scene with her family felt very raw and genuine.

The narrators did a great job of bringing this story to life and really getting me into the story.

Another sweet book in the Kingman lineup from Amy Award - Tempest and Flynn have fun chemistry and I also loved her friends and sorority sisters. It was also a fun storyline! Career success, hidden identities, faithful friendships, wise elders, funny siblings… a fun, light read!

And! A lot less cheese than in books past - this one let the jokes, winks and nods land without over-explaining them. Amy Award really nailed the balance on this one!

Sweet and funny, with a bit of spice. Maybe a little too cute, but definitely a great rom-com! Esay to enjoy and worked very well as an audiobook. I havent read other books in this series, but I'll be in the look out- can be read as a standalone.

3,5 stars and a thanks to NetGalley for the audiobook ARC.

It took me a few chapters to settle into The Jackass in Class, but once I did, I was hooked. What starts with a chaotic baby donkey chase quickly unfolds into a heartwarming, funny, and refreshingly body-positive college sports romance.

Tempest Navarro is the kind of heroine I rarely see but always want more of! Curvy, anxious, talented, and quietly powerful. She’s secretly a bestselling romance author and just trying to keep her emotional support donkey hidden from her sorority sisters. Enter Flynn Kingman: campus royalty, football star, and self-declared no-relationships guy… until he meets Tempest.

Their chemistry grows through forced proximity thanks to a tutoring program, and the banter between them absolutely shines. I also appreciated the contrast in family dynamics. Tempest’s more judgmental family vs. Flynn’s big, chaotic, deeply loving crew. It added a layer of warmth and emotional resonance I wasn’t expecting.

The narration by Vanessa Vasquez and J.F. Harding was spot-on. Both narrators brought energy and nuance to their roles, making this a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience from start to finish.

This was another great read in the Cocky Kingman series. I have really enjoyed all of them and this was no different. I thought the characters were very cute and the story was sweet, I wasn't fully satisfied with the conclusion to the family drama but enjoyed the book all the same. A really nice, sweet, fun, spicy read, great for those who like cotton candy books or need a palate cleanser. The narration and production is also well done.

Thank you so much to Dreamscape for this ALC! Really enjoyed myself and look forward to the next Cocky Kingman!

I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I loved every second of it. Flynn and Tempest are freaking adorable. This whole Kingmans family is adorable. I loved the humor in this story, the romance and chemistry between Flynn and Tempest, the spicy scenes, the secondary characters, Burrito Petito, the plot. Everything about this book was amazing but nothing compared to the feeling of seeing a Latina FMC who spoke Spanish perfectly, plus size, and a writer. I loved Tempest!! The narration by JF Harding and Vanessa Vasquez was outstanding. They brought the perfect mix of voices for these characters and the Spanish was perfect. I'd give it more stars if I could!

This book was everything! I absolutely adored Flynn and Tempest! Amy has done an excellent job building the kingsman universe and this was no exception. The donkey in this book was an incredible side character. Her comedy is top tier. The story also does a fantastic job of tackling how often the romance genre is looked down upon and not seen as real works of literature. The subject is handled beautifully. There is no third act breakup which I loved. I enjoyed that the conflict was something outside of the relationship and Flynn was supportive of her. Their banter was great, the spice was great. The way he supports her with her family is amazing. I just loved it.
I listened to the audiobook and i loved the narration!

Tempest's life is complicated enough. Between classes, her secret career as a romance novelist, and hiding a donkey in her sorority house she doesn't have time for anything else. And that includes handsome linebackers from her Shakespear class who challenges her at every turn. But when they get grouped together, she just might find out Flynn is exactly who and what she needed.

-Sorority Shenanigans

I loved The Jack*ass in Class! It was so much fun. Tempest's sorority sisters tried to steal the show, but Flynn held his own against them. I loved that she had a secret career as a romance novelist, because don't we all want the same for ourselves? This was the first book I read in The Cocky Kingmans series, so now I'm going to have to go back and read the rest. Instant fan!

Overall, 3.5 stars. This was my first book in The Cocky Kingmans series, and it was easy to pick up as a standalone book, I didn't feel like I was missing anything starting in the middle of this series. The part I loved most about this book was Tempest finding her voice and a sense of belonging. I found it to be super relatable, especially of finding comfort and belonging within someone else's family and never feeling good enough for your own. The humor and college shenanigans gave me such a sense of nostalgia. I loved that Flynn ended up being such a gummy bear, he was so sweet and protective. What I didn't like about this book is just a matter of personal preference. The book felt choppy at times and the story just seemed so farfetched.

*Dual POV
*College athlete/Romance author
*Forced proximity
*Family drama
*Found family

Format: audiobook - Vanessa Vasquez and J.F. Harding did a great job!

What fun! Number 5 of the Cocky Kingmans and my favourite so far. Also my first audiobook in the series and it's just excellent. A ridiculous and well-executed plot has college footballer Flynn preparing for the combine, Tempest – a best-selling romance writer, a baby donkey, Shakespeare in class, and all the college shenanigans you'd expect. Tempest has more than one secret and she's slow to trust, but Flynn is intrigued until he falls hard and then he's all in. Unlikely as it seems, it all feels both fun and somehow believable. It's a super slow burn, and more tender than I expected.

Narrators Vanessa Vasquez and JF Harding are terrific. Vanessa creates a sassy and vulnerable Tempest, and made me wish I speak Spanish. JF Harding is totally scrumptious as an alpha football player hiding a very soft core. As it's dual narration, they are both busy with all the girl squad, siblings and extended family, not to mention the donkey. It's funny and silly, like the rest of the series, but the vulnerability of these two really sold me. Recommended!

Thank you Amy Award, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ALC. Opinions are my own.

The Jackass in Class is book 5 in the Cocky Kingmans series. I must say I am loving this series. I enjoy the curvy girl representation, and how they are all comfortable in their own skin and also showing other women they are. The character development is also top tier. Can't wait for the next book.

Tempest was a very relatable and likeable character. The fact that she is a romance writer with a secret identity was done very well in this story and I really enjoyed it. Her family was a little iffy in the beginning but came around in the end.

Flynn! That's all, that's it.

The audiobook is dual narrated by Vanessa Vasquez and J.F. Harding. They both did a good job telling the story and giving the characters depth. They were easy to listen to and also understand. Listened at 2x speed.

Thank you, NetGalley, and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

The Jack*ss in Class by Amy Award was a deliciously satisfying college sports romance that had me grinning from start to finish. I can always count on Amy’s books to leave my heart feeling so happy and so full! I loved everything about Tempest and Flynn’s donkey meet-cute to forever romance. These Kingmans sure do have my heart!

Vanessa Vasquez and JF Harding perform this audiobook in dual narration, and both fully embodied their characters. Vanessa’s sensual voice added the perfect touch of vulnerability and determination to portray Tempest’s persona. JF’s mellow, comforting timbre conveyed the right amount of strength and reassurance for Flynn to show his full support for Tempest, and I was here for it. Plus, both narrators were spot on with Tempest and Flynn’s undeniable chemistry.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and always look forward to more from Amy Award.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape media for the free ALC. My opinions are being left voluntarily. I r3ally loved this one., and is my favourite book in the series so far. I loved the Mexican family members who kept isn't fresh and authentic. I loved he was down baddddd. The narrators both did an excellent job for this audiobook their voices matched what I thought they would going it. I loved the seroiety sisters helping out to glam her and look after the viral goat. What a fun fun book.

Suggest giving it a try if you read open door romances.

5/5☆

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes:
* Opposites attract
* College romance
* Jock x Bookworm
* She’s a secret romance author
* Meddling mischievous donkey
* He falls first
* He likes the challenge 😏
* She’s a virgin

Thanks to NetGalley, Amy Award, and Dreamscape Media for this eALC! I have loved every book in this series, and this was a first for me to read it in audio version. I enjoyed it so much! The dual POV narrators were so good, very emotive and great pacing (and the steamy scenes were especially good! 🤭).

As always for this series, it’s super funny and fun, and the animals hijinx were hilarious! I was especially excited to read Flynn’s story, as he was the bigger playboy in the series and in college still, somewhat different from the last books. He definitely likes the chase and the challenge with Tempest, so he’s hard to resist no matter how much she tries. Their banter and jabs at each other are funny and flirty.

Slight spoiler: they are SO OPPOSITE in their experience, which really added to the sweetness of this relationship that builds between them. And I LOVED that! Because otherwise, their backgrounds and interests are (mostly) similar, and they compliment each other so well! His care and understanding of how much this matters to her shows he’s actually a romantic at heart when he finds “the one” for him.

Tempest is my fave of the FMC’s in this series so far! As always, Award always does well with plus size rep and appreciation, and Tempest especially exemplifies the intricacies of her mixed feelings about herself and her steamy romance books. I felt I could relate on both accounts, so thank you for making this such a big part of her story! Her hidden identity made this story even more interesting and I loved how the Kingmans pulled through for her, like they always do. I really love their family and how much they quickly welcome anyone new that matters to them. And her abuela’s wise wisdom and guidance was beautiful-especially about romance books! All of this makes their HEA so lovely!

I was so GIDDY when I got approved for this ALC. The Cocky Kingman series is one of my favorites and it was a no-brainer that I NEEDED the 5th book in my little raccoon hands.

In The Jack*ss in Class, Flynn Kingman has finally met his match in Tempest Navarro. She is unimpressed by the footballer, knowing all about his reputation and his infamous 2 week rule. But when they get paired for a class project together, neither can deny the chemistry that sparks between them through slated study sessions over Shakespeare, witty banter that is enough to make your cheeks blush, and donkey babysitting hijinx.

First, I'd like to say that this narration was A++ Vanessa Vasquez and J.F. Harding bring Tempest x Flynn to life with emotion you can FEEL, vibrant humor, and knowing tonal cadence that sets scenes. Their chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥

What I loved about this book is how the love story between Flynn x Tempest slowly evolves from friendship to romance. They truly get to be IN one another's lives, which includes meeting the family. As always, I adore seeing how the rest of the Kingman brothers are doing with the LOTL, seeing Jules be the voice of reason when it comes to her brother's love lives, and Bridger being the BEST father to his kids brought me to tears in this one. I also adored Abuela Novela, Tempest's grandma who offered much needed love and support when her family did not approve of our girl's career choices. Which reminds me, the Spanish inclusion sprinkled through the novel is *chef's kiss*, highlighting the effortless inclusion of culture not seen in previous Cocky Kingman books.

Lastly, the conversation regarding the romance genres was phenomenal and speaks volumes to readers. Again, by the end of the book, I was in tears because of how important it is to see yourself within the pages of a book, which includes centering plus size women in romance novels with joy and positivity. Through Tempest, you can see the effect this has on readers just as Amy Award is challenging the status quo in romance books for us. It's a beautiful full circle moment ⭐

My theory for the next book? It's going to be Griff's 😉 and I'm going to need that STAT.

I can't recommend this series enough. I love the Kingmans' and their delightfully witty, strong plus size love interests that make these men weak and full on golden retrievers.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Jack*as in Class by Amy Award is another adorable addition to this fun and fluffy series, and I’m once again smitten with the Kingman chaos. Huge thanks to NetGalley for the ALC!

If you’re in the mood for a low-spice, high-steam, slow-burn college romance that makes you smile like an idiot, this one delivers. It’s got all the tropes I love: grumpy/sunshine, no-strings jock meets secret soft girl, academic rivals with undeniable tension—and oh yeah, a baby donkey named Beatrice who absolutely steals the show.

Flynn Kingman is your classic protective golden retriever athlete with hidden emotional depth and surprisingly poetic insights (because of course he shines in Shakespeare class). Tempest is smart, sassy, secretly a bestselling romance author, and doing her best to balance anxiety, a chaotic sorority, and a very opinionated donkey. Their banter is chef’s kiss and their chemistry sizzles despite the low heat rating—it’s the kind of tension you feel in your bones.

Narrators Vanessa Vasquez and JF Harding brought Tempest and Flynn to life beautifully. Their performance added an extra layer of charm to an already endearing story, nailing the banter, vulnerability, and swoony moments.

If you’re looking for something light, charming, and filled with lovable weirdos (and even more lovable livestock), this is the book for you. It’s not super deep or drama-filled, but honestly? That’s what makes it so enjoyable. Just pure serotonin in audiobook form.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to petition my HOA for an emotional support donkey.

I loved this book, it not only is a great sports romance but addresses more on the mental health side of things which is really good to see the representation. Flynn and Tempest are a fantastic couple. I love how Flynn is just so accepting and supportive of Tempest straight away and will do his all the help her. An Burrito is just so cute, a baby donkey who could pass that up. I can't say just how much I appreciate the different types of representation in this series, it is so good to see so much inclusivity. This has to be one of my favorite of the series.

I was very excited to be gifted an advance copy of this book and excited to start with - it did not disappoint :)

This book is a part of a larger series but you can follow along pretty easy without reading the previous stories.

The story was really cute and while it wasn’t the spiciest of books, it included some wonderful wholesome story lines as well.

A great summer listen that kept me giggling, intrigued and looking to see if we could house a baby donkey of my own 😉

I have not read any of the other books in this series but after listening to this...i have added them all to my kindle wishlist. I will say i was a little disappointed at the lack of spicy scenes with this though. I was expecting so much more on that front. I loved the banter between the characters and the self acceptance portrayed in the book. Tempest's character was phenomenal. The donkey added great humor throughout. i don't do audiobooks but I stepped outside of my comfort zone with this one and i'm so glad i did.
