This was like Shōgun meets Hell’s Paradise (lowkey).
I loved it. Such a cool, complex premise!!
This world that William built had me intrigued from the beginning— All the inner working within the mist was so interesting.

Although, I have to say I did struggled to pick up the characters at first, but after a while you find the flow.

“A question needs more than an answer, Soh’Shoro. It needs understanding and acceptance.”

And the whole book revolving around “Eternity”, I was eating this up. His obsession w/ The Princess was insane though lmfao, but hey, I’m here for it ☠️
You do you, buddy 🫵🏽
*I also have to point out the details, like in the beginning mans had a 15 person long train where people had to even crawl just to move & hold it up, I was gagged— Okay Met Gala!!

“Eternity gives us certainty and control, but it also condemns us to suffering, to the cruelest finality of all, living without those we love.”
^This quote hit hard.
Chef’s 💋

Overall, I wasn’t expecting much coming into this, but now I fear I need to read Mistborn & She Who Became The Sun— Which are both on my tbr!!
Brian Nishii did an amazing job narrating!!
