“Everything Changes But You” is the second book in the Halfmoon Quay series by Sarah Bennett. Once again I was drawn right in very early on, by the strong sense of community and belonging that the story evokes. This book is Liam’s story. The eldest Penrose boy who had so much academic potential his teacher managed to get him a place at an exclusive school and as a result he grew up away from home and ended up living and working in London, a high flying city boy.

In this story Liam returns home to discover his Great Uncle’s hotel has been gifted to him. He has to decide if being by the sea, surrounded by his loving family, in a slower way of life is what he now needs or of he should sell the hotel and continue with his life in London. Any changes to be made are of great interest to all the locals and Liam is the local hot topic. He is subjected to unsolicited advice from people making assumptions about where his priorities lie.
Meanwhile he also needs to work through his feelings for Issy. It’s been 15 years since they have spoken a civil word go each other. She was his first girlfriend, the love of his life. She broke up with him when he first left for school by never replying to any of his letters. Issy herself is also very torn because Liam was the love of her life and he broke up with her!

“Everything Changes but You” is an addictively warm and cosy story of lost love, misunderstandings, family, friendship and fun. I was thoroughly absorbed in the story. Willing Liam to make the right choice placing happiness over financial security.

Each member of the Penrose family has their own story to tell. I really want to be there to hear them all and I look forward to reading more books in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood books for the chance to read this book. It is the second in the series and it’s turning out to be a good series. Even though it is the second in the series at the front of the book you get an overview of the characters .
Set in Cornwall it follows Issy and what life has in store for her. A good easy read.

Issy runs the cafe at halfmon quay that used to belong to her parents until they tragicaly died in a boating accident.

Liam works in london and has come home for three months to recover after his relationship ended and work wore him down.

They both were school sweethearts until Liam was sent away for school and they both lost contact . Both thinking the other one didnt want anything to do with them when neither off them riecved letters that they had sent to each other.
But there both still angry how it ended until issy finds a mystery box in the cafe one day and liam recieves a key in the post

I love a small town romance and was glad to be able to catch up with the characters from half moon bay. I love a story in a series and loved catching up with the plans for the hotel. Issy and Liam’s relationship was a bit of stretch with how quick it was resolved too. I really like Maud and Davey and their relationship too. I love a family saga too.
I would like to get to the bottom of whats happening to Kat more too.
Looking forward to the next book in the series

Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange of an honest review.

This book is the second book in the Halfmoon Quay series. It can be read as a standalone novel, but I suggest that you read the previous book first, because it's a fantastic book. It also makes this book more enjoyable, as you know the characters and settings.
This book features Liam and Issy, who are lovely characters. We also catch up with the characters from the previous book, which is always nice.
I love Sarah Bennett's books, she always writes fantastic series, with great characters and gorgeous locations. Halfmoon Quay is no exception, I would love to visit there if it was a real place.
I love Autumnal books, I wish there were more of them. I read this book on a hot Summers day, but this book was well written and engaging. It evoked a cosy and warm feeling, which made me want to curl up with a Pumpkin Spice Latte. It's a heartwarming and uplifting read.
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood books for my arc.

This is the second book in the half moon quay series. I would recommend reading the previous book first to get the background of the setting and characters for full enjoyment but this isn’t essential

This instalment gives us the story of Izzy and Liam alongside catching up with the other characters lives from the first book.
.
This was a beautiful second chance romance and the perfect uplifting reading to escape with.

Looking forward to the next instalment of this series.

A lovely second chance romance ina seaside town. I enjoyed the characters and learning how they found themselves separated as teens only to reconnect in their 30s. Sweet.

Nice book, easy to read, slightly predictable but enjoyable nonetheless. I’d recommend this one for its setting, for the friendships and for the reconnection of people destined to be together.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. Unfortunately I just couldn't get into this book, so it ended up as a DNF. I couldn't connect with the characters, and this meant I felt the book was slow-going. I liked the setting and the premise was engaging, but unfortunately this book just wasn't for me. That said, as I haven't read the first in the series, that may have affected my views.

Issy loves her cafe love the village but one thing she struggle with is the sea she knows it stems from losing her beloved parents in a sailing accident.
Liam is back among the Penrose clan he’s on a sabbatical it when his uncle gifts him the hotel he’s lost, he doesn’t know where to start he’s knows his life in London is no longer fulfilling him like it did and when his relationship is over he wants to ove back to where he feels he belongs he wants to come home.
Issy and Liam have a past but is it as clear cut as they think?
Loving this series and can’t wait to go back for another visit soon.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, there is a character index at the beginning of this book as a reminder.
The story is good but a tad slow which I find unusual for this wonderful author.
As usual there’s a lovely romantic storyline and a town full of interesting people.

Second book in the half moon series but it worked as a standalone book. Loved the character overview at the start of the book- it really helped set the scene.

Issy and Liam have history. Will Issy get chance of closure when Liam returns to the bay.

Enjoyable read - perfect for my sun lounger.

This was another amazing entry in the series, it had that romance element that I was wanting and enjoyed the overall feel of this. The characters had that feel that worked and enjoyed that they had second chances in love. Sarah Bennett has a strong writing style and enjoyed how good everything was connected with each other.

Thank you, Netgallery and Boldbooks, for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had not realised that this was the second book in a series, while I don’t think you need to read the first book, I was a little lost and confused by all the characters. There is a list of the characters and their connections at the start of the book, which is essential for understanding who anyone is.
I did not finish this book because of the slower pace and confusion about who everyone is and their backstory. I’m giving this book three stars due to the fact that I did not read the first book, which I think is the main cause of my confusion and lack of interest in the main characters. The plot is lovely. I love small-town romances where everyone is connected and has funny banter with each other. You don’t need to read the first book, but I would highly recommend doing so.

Thank you for letting me read this. This is the 2nd book in the Halfmoon Quay series. It can be read as a stand alone so don’t need to read the first one, although I did. Really enjoyed the first book but this one was better. The story of Liam and Issy, their past and their future. This was a feel good story with underlying messages running through it. Also gives a promise of lots more stories to come from the village. Thoroughly recommend this book and the first one.

Whilst I did enjoy the book it was a bit of a slow burner and it felt a bit dragged out. It is the 2nd in the series but can be read as a standalone.

Thank you to Netgalley for my ARC copy of 'Everything Changes but You' by Sarah Bennett (this has not affected my review). I have read and enjoyed the previous books in the series about the Penrose clan. This instalment focuses on Izzy Kernow (who runs the cafe) and Liam Penrose - both characters appear briefly in the previous instalments. Liam is back from London, following a relationship breakdown and the loss of his home. He's taking a break from his high-stress , highly paid job as he figures out his future. Izzy works all the hours she can keeping the cafe afloat and a roof over her head. There is history between them - they were teenage sweethearts, but when Liam moved away for his education and Izzy coped with losing her parents, the bond between them severed (and each now blames the other). However, Liam suddenly has a reason to stay - following illness his uncle offers him the chance to run his hotel. What should Liam do? Hire a manager, or take up the reins himself... Set in a seaside town, this is the perfect summer read to get away from it all.

This is something of a slow burn which kept me turning the pages to follow the ins and outs of the daily lives of Issy and Liam. They were teenage sweethearts and then things went wrong. Liam is back in town and the books follows the both, along with their friends and family as to whether there is a place for Liam in the village and if so what might that look like. The nosiness of small town life, along with the impact of the water on villages by the sea is all covered in a charming and cozy way. The romance is steady and cute and a throw back to gentler times.
