Dance, music, sports and theatre are the subjects of this little series, and this book covers the latter – although with mention of dancers being on the stage at times (in variety shows and musicals, at least) and the orchestra being in their pit. This is a suitable early reader about theatre, guiding us to some of the terms used by the actors and their audiences, and very pictorially taking on the job of an introduction to it all. We get some of its history, and even trivia related to it. On this limited evidence this is a four star series – certainly these pages have nothing on them to prevent these getting that rating.

This is a great non-fiction book for readers who like to perform or are interested in performing. The book has a glossary, table or contents, and index. Throughout the book, readers are introduced to key concepts in modern theater, the history of theater, and some of the roles that people play in a stage production. I highly recommend this concise, helpful book for schools, art guilds, and libraries.
