Trigger warnings Alternate Ending include: multiple mentions of underage drinking, homophobia, drug dealing & drug use, alcoholism & recovery, violence, divorce & family trauma, explicit language, physical & mental abuse, harassment, child abuse & neglect, suicide mention and suicide of a character.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series. But when it came to reading this one, I just could not get into it. I wasn't feeling any attachment to the characters or the events.

I don't think my lack of enjoyment actually has anything to do with the book itself, seeing as I really liked the first book in this series. I think it was just that I didn't get on with the characters.

Thank you to author Quinn Coleman for sending me an e-copy of this book.

Alternate Ending is a heartfelt and relatable YA story following Russell Matthews as he navigates senior year, family drama, and writing competitions. The characters are well-developed and engaging, and while the book is a bit long, it balances humor and emotional depth nicely, making it a satisfying standalone even if you haven’t read the first installment.

Thank you Netgalley and to the author for an early copy of this book!
The cover was super cute, which is what caught my eye! I enjoyed reading this book, though it was quite long. While it is a standalone, because I didn't read the first book, I feel like maybe I would understand some of the details better, but overall, it did not affect my reading of this book. I liked the characters and their development as well!
