The Serpent’s Bride is a dark, dramatic, and tension filled vampire romance.
The story follows Nadi, a trained assassin who’s spent her life preparing to take revenge on the vampire who murdered her parents. That vampire is Raziel Nostrom, a prince in a powerful mafia-like vampire clan. When she learns he’s about to marry a woman he’s never met, Nadi seizes the opportunity she disguises herself as his bride, planning to infiltrate his family and kill them all from the inside.
But things don’t go as planned. Raziel is magnetic, dangerous, and far more complex than Nadi expected. As she navigates the twisted dynamics of his family and the secrets they keep, she finds herself torn between her mission and the growing connection she feels with Raziel. The tension between them is intense, and the enemies-to-lovers trope is front and centre.
If you enjoy morally grey characters, revenge plots, and spicy romantasy with a bite, The Serpent’s Bride is worth a try. Just be ready for a cliffhanger and a lot of emotional chaos.

The plot follows Raziel who is taking an unseen bride. Our heroine seizes this opportunity, planning to infiltrate his vicious and beautiful family and exact her bloody revenge from within. Raziel Nostrom is everything our heroine expected—ruthless, deadly, and powerful. However, the synopsis hints at an unexpected, intoxicating magnetism.
Overall, I recommend this book to fans of enemies-to-lovers, dark fantasy romance, and stories where the lines between hero and villain blur will find this story utterly irresistible.

I really enjoyed reading "The Serpent's Bride" , the author did a good job hooking my attention early and holding it holding it throughout the story.
Enemies to Lovers is arguably my favorite trope, pairing it with a tense cat and mouse theme kept me turning pages long after I should have been sleeping. I'd categorize both of the leading characters as Morally Grey and their chemistry was palpable.
There is so much that we still don't know and I am definitely forward to continuing on in this series when book two is released.
I'll definitely be recommending this one!
Thank you Kathryn Ann Kingsley , Net Galley and Second Sky for providing me with an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

I really enjoyed this and am so eager for book 2. I just think the characters need to be fleshed out more. The world was super simple but interesting. Easy read for people who like dark romance (it's not TERRIBLY dark though...just death and vampirism).
The characters were funny and I honestly had no idea where this was going to go. I did think what happened in the end would happen, but I journey there was not one I expected.

Loved this vampire X mafia mash up. ❤️ Binged it in one sitting.
It was a dark romance with some spice but heaps of tension and will they/won't they
I particularly loved the FMC and her mission to avenge the murder of her family. Also loved that she shifted into something different than your usual fantasy creature ✨
The ending was brilliant and I can't wait to read the sequel!!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
Raziel Nostrom, a vampire mafia prince, slaughtered Nadi’s family when she was just a child. Since that day, she’s lived for one thing: revenge. So when she learns Raziel is entering an arranged marriage with a human he’s never met, and only recognizes by a blurry photo. Nadi sees her chance. As a shapeshifter, slipping into the bride’s identity is easy. The plan? Infiltrate his home, earn his trust, and destroy his world from the inside out just like he did to hers.
There’s only one problem: the undeniable, maddening attraction between them!!!
I loved this!

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this outstanding book in exchange for an honest review.
I could barely put it down once I started reading. The characters actually had depth! I always love a strong female lead and Nadi didn't disappoint, i would have enjoyed if she'd taken Raziel up on his challenge to dominate him.... hopefully in the next book. I would have like a bit more world building, I'm hoping for a bit more history on the wilds and the war between the different races. Why was Nadis blood so amazing? Why do the humans and vampires hate the wilds, it's it because the magic isn't accessible to them? I have so many questions! I really need them to talk to Raziels grandmother because I bet she has some of that history.
I really loved the pace of the book, it didn't feel rushed even though it all took place so quickly. I really hated that cliff hanger though, I NEED to know what happens next for these two.

I would rate this book 3.5/4 stars. It was a good time. I enjoyed the vampire/fae mafia type vibes. With the audiobook and the e-book, I read together for an immersive experience. It did not have plot heavy world building, so if you are looking for more of that, this would not be the book for you. It had some spice. The ending really peaked my interest for book two. With the audiobook I enjoyed the female voices, but the male voices were off. It didn’t match up well and fell flat for me. Other than that this was a good book!

I loved this book so much!! I’m such a sucker for morally grey vampires. The writing was great, and the whole concept of the Wilds and the fae felt super unique.
I really liked Nadia’s character and her plan to avenge her murdered family. She was so badass, and I loved her banter with Raziel.
I always fall for morally grey characters, and Raziel was no different. I loved him from the start, even if he definitely has some questionable past times.
The cliffhanger though!! Gimme more please!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this arc!

“I will disguise myself as the vampire’s bride. I will win over his family. And then I will murder every last one of them.”
…And that’s how you know you’re in for a good time.
This book had me from the very first line.
The Serpent’s Bride is a dark, intoxicating mix of revenge, forbidden desire, and enemies to lovers that feels like The Godfather crashed into The Vampire Diaries and sprinkled in a little From Blood and Ash chaos for good measure.
Our FMC has spent her entire life training for one thing: to destroy Raziel Nostrom, the ruthless mafia prince responsible for her parents’ deaths. When she hears he’s set to marry a stranger, she slips into the role of the bride, a perfect disguise to get close, infiltrate, and kill them all. Easy, right?
Except… Raziel is a problem. A big, ruby-eyed, deadly, magnetic problem. He’s every bit as dangerous as she imagined, but he’s also charming in a way that makes it impossible to breathe around him. And the closer she gets to his family, the more blurred the line between vengeance and desire becomes.
I devoured this in a sitting! It’s lush with mafia glamour, dripping with tension, and full of razor sharp moments where love and hate intertwine.
The chemistry? Electric.
The stakes? Sky high. And yes, the spice delivers exactly what the cover promises.
If you’re a fan of true enemies to lovers (none of that mild rivalry nonsense), arranged/marriage of convenience tropes, and vampires with a dangerous edge, this one will sink its fangs right into you.
My only complaint? I need book two immediately.

I enjoyed this book! I love Kathryn’s books and they are normally a 5 star for me, this was a slow start. I felt that the story didn’t get going until at least half way through.
But that ending !!! How did he know!! I definitely cannot wait to see where it goes and what is going to happen.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review!
4⭐️!
This was surprisingly good! I went into this book not having read anything else by this author but intrigued by the premise. I’m not usually one for mafia but I really loved the twist this had of vampire romance with the mafia so it made me like the mafia aspect a whole lot more than I usually do. I also really enjoyed the FMC and her story, though I do wish there was a little more true enemies to lovers and not as much insta-lust. Overall though, I really solid read, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quick dark vampire mafia romance read.

Thank you to Second Sky & NetGalley for a chance to read this ARC!
This was really fun! Loved both MCs (which might say a lot about me personally 😖) and can't wait to see their dynamic continue. This was a great intro for whatever comes next for Raziel & Nadi. I genuinely did NOT expect that last chapter - KEEP IT COMIN!!!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
This was okay, didn't get interesting till 50%. I truly didn't like and of the characters till about 75%. There is also a lot of world building that I think needs to happen there is "the wilds" but l'm not sure if it's normal wilderness or something more?
The last chapter carried this book and gave interest for the second. I hope the second will improve the world building.

Thank you Second Sky, NetGalley and Katheryn Ann Kingsley for this eARC.
The Serpent’s Bride was such a fun, thrilling ride! My first urban fantasy with fae, humans and vampires but not like I’d read about before.
From the first few pages this book gripped me and kept me coming back for me. The pacing was fast and kept you ok your toes, always wanting to know more.
Nadia is the perfect FMC for me. She’s skilled, formidable but not without doubts and woes.
The ending was truly not expected and has made me desperate for book 2!

💭 Thoughts-
-ˋˏ✄┈┈I wanted way more world building becasue I was left wanting more and wanting to know more about the world and the people in it.
-ˋˏ✄┈┈I needed some more dept to some of the characters because I felt like sometimes they felt shallow. Not all of the characters though because I was obsessed with some of them.
-ˋˏ✄┈┈With that though I will say I was very much in love with the morally gray characters and the slow burn was actually slow burning if you know what I mean.

Feelings after turning the last page: WHAAAAAA?!?!? Ms. Kathryn that is diabolical!
10-second synopsis: Raziel aka The Serpent is a vampire who killed Nadi’s parents many years ago. She has vowed to get her revenge so she, a shape-shifting fae, poses as his human bride and plans to take him and his family down from the inside.
Thank you to Second Sky, Bookouture Audio, the author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and listen prior to release!!
Review: WOW this was a fun ride. The premise felt unique and I really enjoyed it. Nadi is a vicious FMC and I love her so much. Girlfriend knows what she wants and goes for it….she just can’t help but be into the hot vampire? Nadi is all of us, honestly. Speaking of….my guy Raz. I love cruel vamps and he certainly fits the bill. Nothing could possibly be his downfall - except perhaps Nadi. The little back and forth between them was delicious. Raziel’s family was incredibly entertaining! And the ending? THE ENDING?! I think my jaw dropped more than once. Amazing cliffhanger, can’t wait for book 2.
The narrator did a wonderful job. I do wish it had had two narrators, whether in duet or dual narration, but she did a fantastic job distinguishing between the two POVs and 10/10 would listen to her again!

Well now, I had such a fun time reading this.
This wasn't heavy on the world building but still set the scene and the tone beautifully, was such an easy flowing read and was a joy.
With a marriage of convenience,
mafia,
warring clans,
enemies to lovers,
Just the right amount of spice (wasn't heavy which was a nice change),
Vampire x Fae.
Both the main characters i adored, the both know what they want, yet he's not fooled, both curious and inquisitive of each other, drawn to each other, his addiction to her was beautiful to read and yet he he's dangerous and has all the red flags going lol and that ending, now I have to wait *cries in my coffee*
Thank you Bookature, Second Sky, Noelle at second sky, netgalley and the author for this awesome opportunity to yet again read another fab book in exchange for my honest review

Thank you to Netgalley and Second Sky for an early copy of this book.
When I first read the blurb, I was excited. Who doesn't love fae, vampires, assassins and sneaky plot lines. I loved the world and that the fmc has unique... Fae features. The enemies to lovers vibe is definitely there but I wish there was more chemistry between the mains. The fury and hatred that Nadi supposedly had for Raziel felt surface deep, despite it being meant to be her whole driving force. The action was good but I wish the surroundings were a little more fleshed out. Overall, this is an easy read with light world building, some action, some open door spice and minimal fmc x mmc conflict.

•• “𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘕𝘢𝘥𝘪. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘭”
Ahhh, this book was such a breath of fresh air. A cunning and ruthless fmc, a brutal and mysterious mmc, and a story that kept me on my toes - this one had me gripped right from the start.
Everytime I thought I knew where this was headed, Nadi would find herself faced with a new conflict and it would send the story in a different direction. There is some repetition in our character’s inner monologues, but the storyline never felt predictable. I also loved how Nadi adapted for herself out of some tight situations - she’s actually a pretty amazing assassin and I found myself quite impressed by her.
But as a result, Nadi and Raziel never fully shift into the lovers phase while never seeming to stay in the enemies category either. They walk a fine line of hate and lust that slowly binds them together no matter how hard they fight it. It makes for a few surprisingly sweet moments in the midst of a lot of darkness.
Oh yeah, and our boy Raziel, he purrs.

Girl, same. I’d fold too, there’s no judgement here. There’s just something about a big scary vampire showing his softer side that makes me melt, and Raziel had me in a puddle. I’ll admit he gave me quite the shock at the end and now I’m counting the days til book 2.
