To Kill A Badger was a fun romp of a read. Like it's predecessors it was filled with chaos, over the top goodness, shenanigans aplenty, a romance, violence, action, hilarious moments and so much more. I absolutely loved it. I am so enamored with this series and these characters. I loved the main characters, Keane and Nelle. They complemented each other in the best and grumpiest of ways. I love me a grumpy hero and let me tell you Keane is top tier grump. I loved that she was equally as grumpy as him. I loved that they were both unhinged but managed to temper each other. I loved the multiple points of view and the way chaos ensued when all these supernatural creatures came together. I loved this book so hard. I enjoyed this story immensely and so cannot wait to dive headfirst into the next book in the series. I very highly recommend this book and series.

This is book 6 in the Honey Badger Chronicles by Shelly Laurenston. I absolutely adore this series and immediately dove into this one when it downloaded. The books in this series have been consistently fabulous and this one definitely didn’t disappoint! I really enjoyed the dynamic between Nelle and Keane. And how you could actually see and feel them falling in love with each other. I found this book to be hilarious and a really fun ride! I really love the honey badgers and I am sad to be ending this series but I can’t wait to see where Shelly takes us next! Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington publications for this advanced reader copy in return for an honest review!

Nelle Zhao is a social media maven who knows what matters. And the only thing that matters right now is survival. Not easy, though, when her honey badger teammates attract trouble the way she attracts attention. She didn’t know when it became her job to protect the ones she cares about from themselves, but even she has to admit…she’s really good at it. Too bad some people don’t appreciate when she’s being helpful. Especially Keane Malone, who doesn’t know how to accept a friendly paw. But Nelle excels at helping! And at ignoring other people’s irrational demands, such as doing it all alone. Keane, poor pretty kitty, doesn’t understand the kind of assistance a shit-starting honey badger like Nelle can truly offer. Keane knows two things—he doesn’t like other people, and he is going to crush the de Medicis, an evil coalition of male lion shifters who are not only snatching innocent humans for fun and profit, but also killed his father. And for once, he may not be able to fight this fight alone, forcing him to let long-legged, jet-setting Nelle join the fight. And getting close to Nelle is suddenly bringing out his roar.

While I loved most of this story, I didn't necessarily feel like the romance between Nelle and Keane was all there. It almost felt like an afterthought? I loved seeing all the honey badger drama and everything that happens with the "Hags". But I guess I was expecting more for the last book for this part of the overall ARC and was left wanting in that respect. It was all still a great read though, and as always-I got my Charlie fix! Which I always love! I still think the badgers are my favorite out of all of this author's books, but it's mainly because of the sisters and all of their antics. I am every hopeful that they will be in more books, because this series is always such a great read!

Ohhh love these honey Badgers! Love this author, I can always go to her books for some chuckles and yes a couple laughs out loud! This is a Nelle’s story. Once again they are protecting each other and fighting amongst each other. But what families don’t fight? But when you’re a badger it just gets rougher! But they do find love or hate!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

When you read a Shelly Laurenston shifter novel you need to take off your “based on reality” hat and put on your “it’s all about fun reading” hat. Always irreverent, Laurenston’s novels combine great dialog, strange and quirky characters, and romances that shouldn’t make sense but become believable, well, if you can change into a honey badger or lion kind of believable. Interesting and kind of exhausting because there is so much going on.

After checking reality at the door I hunkered down for some fun reading with this kind of crazy honey badger group. I’ve read the majority of these novels and some were better than others with this one ranking right in the middle. Maybe it was because I took a break from them for awhile, but Nelle and Keane’s story was crazy but enjoyable. Honey badgers in real life are known for their fierce nature, taking on creatures much larger and not backing down. In this action-packed novel Laurenston takes these traits and puts them on steroids. These honey badger ladies are crafty, crazy, and fierce with a capital F. They are also fun with a capital F.

I enjoyed Nelle and Keane’s slow building romance. She kind of snuck in under his guard until he was just used to her being there and then thought, “oh she kind of smells good” or “those legs are long and luscious” then wham- they were a couple. Again, not reality based but it was well done and kept me reading. If you like a lot of action, some violence, and a break from reality in your romances this may be the perfect book for you!

I don't know about you, but it seems like I've been waiting for what seem like ever for To Kill a Badger to come out. I've reread the series over and over just to keep everything in order, plus I love this series. Waiting so long doesn't always make for great reading. Which is why this winter I will read the whole series as a whole again just to be able to enjoy it without the questions that come with waiting.

I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy the book because I really did. But at times I felt bad for the author. I'm sure she was under a lot of pressure to have a great book with all the questions being answered. Saying that one of our questions about how Nelle and Keane will be together is answered. They are perfect! She knows how to calm the beast we know as Keane. We all understand why he is the way he is. All the pressure he's been under since he was a kid which makes the fact that he now knows who killed his father such a relief for him that you can almost feel it in the way he acts and treats others

For me the biggest shock of this book in Nelle and her personality. I didn't notice before just how we knew nothing about her and who she is. We get glimpses of the real her in the prior books, but this one opens up Nelle.

I enjoyed them together and how they interact. You could almost feel them falling in love. There is so much good humor in this story and many touching moments. When Charlie gets into bed with Berg and tells him she loves him and what she wants him to do if something happens to her my heart broke for him. He even let got and didn't growl at Dutch being brought up. You also feel for Stevie who isn't used to not being able to figure something out right away. It's killing her not to be able to keep the people she cares about safe.

There are so many things I'd love to talk about in the book, but you need to read it for yourself. It will be so much better that way.

What I didn't care for is that even I felt there were too many storylines going on at once. It is such a busy book, and I was a bit disappointed that some of the past characters that might not have loved the badgers didn't come and help them. I missed the interactions which prior book characters for the prior series.

I am looking forward to the new series even if it's going back in time. I kind of wish it wasn't. I'd like it now, but it is what it is. I love the wolf husbands so I'm looking forward to getting to know them better. Them showing up in this book to help was done so well.

As you can tell by the length of this review this is a great story that does a wonderful job of tying up the story. Now I'm back to waiting for what we are getting next.

Nelle is the last of the team to get her HEA and she had to work for it! I mean, between a serum which can rob badgers of their shifting ability, planning heists, practicing for the basketball championship and dodging her sisters wedding, Nelle has a really full plate of responsibility. She also does that sneaky sorting out of her besties lives that really irritates them...which makes her stupidly happy.

Keane is the eldest of the Malone brothers (his middle brother is with Tock and Finn is with Mads). He wants nothing in life but revenge against those responsible for his fathers death and to play football. He's a complete d!ck to almost everyone, including his family, but for some reason he keeps seeking out the honey badgers. Well Nelle really. So far she's the only one he can tolerate for any length of time.

Now he and Nelle have become an odd couple of investigators as they try to uncover who has it out for the honey badgers (literally everyone including themselves!).

This series is chock full of humour, witty one liners, cutting barbs and ingenious insults! The FMCs are snarky, independent, take charge, don't need a man, always ready to battle but all have that tender spot. They'd do anything for each other but give you a hard time while saving your a$$. There are strong found family vibes in all of the books, and more so in this one as more stories are uncovered about the team as youngsters.

The men may be big, touch, gruff Alphas but they are the supporting mc in these books. Keane is such a great example. He may want to take over and defend Nelle but at the same time he is more than aware of her skills and steps aside when needed and lets her badassery shine. Keane never tries to change Nelle or tell her she needs to be less than herself - he loves her in all her nutso glory!

The secondary characters are just as fun and the Crones are like a Gen X Version of the girls. They are so cranky, complaining about getting old, moaning about their kids but still manage to take names.

The romance was slow burn really between these two but once they let loose - OMG the intense sparks. Their personalities work so well together. There were quite a few strands of the plot weaving together and there are a few very satisfying scenes when some of the hateful characters come to a suitable gruesome end! Poor Charlie also does a power of baking, the state must have run out of flour and sugar at the rate she was baking!

The book has a slew of mixed race/mixed species characters and I love the way that they just are - there's no fanfare or over-explaining of their ethnicities/species. There is no drama over a character being with another because they are "different" to them, love is love and everything else be damned.

I really hope we get more Badger books, maybe some retro 1980/90s set books with the Crones because I am not ready to leave my fave shifters behind just yet!

I love returning to this world that Ms. Laurenston has created but I found this book to be a bit chaotic. We kept jumping from character to character and issue to issue without any clear order or transition which made it hard to keep tract of what was going on.
However once I got past that I enjoyed getting to know Keane and Nelle better. Nelle looked out for her friends whether they wanted it or not. She had money and made no bones about it but she wasn't snobby about it. It just was. And Keane is bossy until he isn't. He allows Nelle liberties he would never allow others and it works. He is alpha to his core but only pushes when it matters. Which is great because Nelle is no less alpha but Keane settles something in her that allows her to just be and to lean on him. I loved their dynamic even as the worked to saved the world as we know it.

Full disclosure: I have been a longtime lover of Shelly Laurenston's writing, and even if I didn't love everything, I enjoyed myself.

So having said that, I have enjoyed the Honey Badger Chronicles, some more than but I loved this book and I'll tell you for why - cause the romance is the center that really holds this many layered cake of a books with a boatload of characters together. Not every book in this series felt like the romance was at its core, but this one? The leads spent a good amount of time together instead of building up their own separate journeys and that made all the difference to me.

I loved getting to see previous couples show up but not just to say hi and bye but actually participate when necessary. There's alot of violence and humor, and some violent humor, but all of it kept me engaged and reading.

At the end of the day, I had alot of fun with this and I'm looking forward to reading whatever Ms. Laurenston comes up with next.

This is the sixth in the honey badger series. Shelly Lawrenceton has a really created funny hilarious, entertaining shifter world. We have previously met keen, who is the half brother of Natalie, who is the half sister of the McKilligan sisters. Ken is a Siberian tiger shifter and has been rightfully angry about the fact that when his father was killed years ago, no one did anything about it. In the previous book, Max McKilligan, and her basketball teammates who are honey badger shifters, helped the brothers get revenge, but now their whole family is in danger. It’s really fun to see keen and now work together and start to fall for one another because he’s grumpy and she’s just very good at making sure everyone else will be good. It’s a fun ride from start to finish and even though the characters are slightly unhinged, it’s an entertaining book.

It's always fun to read a book with honey badger characters, and this one was no exception. There was plenty of slapstick and chaos to go around. There are a lot of characters in this book, and I struggled a bit trying to follow who was who they were, but eventually I just stopped trying to figure it out and enjoyed the ride. I do recommend making a list of the characters.

I received an e-arc from Kensington Publishing and voluntarily read and reviewed it.

If you have not started reading about the antics of Honey Badger shifters then you are truly missing out . This series started with Charlie,Stevie and Max but has steadily progressed to their team mates and this time it’s the very pampered Nelle who steps forward . Now I won’t lie I did feel that it was Keane who made the greatest progress as a character here from being generally pretty antisocial to embracing being part of a couple but there’s so much madness and general mayhem abounding that I didn’t really mind .
Is this a romance ? For me it’s a riotous journey that just happens to have a couple making a connection but again I’ve no objection to that . Why ? Well there’s an over reaching arc that concludes in this book but still plenty left for the author to revisit if she wants to and I’m looking at you Freddie ! The Crones are just bonkers with adoring husbands or do I mean long suffering ? This is just such a wholly unique and funny world that will have you laughing so much . For this reader though the star actually isn’t Nelle but the very very capable Charlie and these sisters are never to be underestimated trust me . Fun, chaotic and totally a hoot I’m already desperate for whatever this author writes next
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts are honest and I believe

This is another wonderful honey badger romp focused on Nelle and Keane Malone. The badgers are still at war with the de Midici lions and dealing with other problems as well. This also has the introduction of the OG honey badger team of Tracey, Yoon, Ox, and CeCe addressed as the Crones by Max. Nelle is busy trying to manage the chaos with Keane’s protection while dealing with the OG’s meddling and long-range plans. Clearly, there is chemistry between the wealthy honey badger and the eldest Malone brother. At the same time Charlie is trying to keep her family safe while surrounded by family. This was a very satisfying addition to this series though it does feel like a wrap up for the MacKilligan clan.

This review is based on a NetGalley version though my own copy downloaded today.

Great escapist romp across the globe.

Nelle and her fellow badgers are off to save the world, in their own special way. I love the banter between Nelle and Keane, between Nelle and the “crones”, between Charlie and everyone. Nelle has a problematic relationship with her parents and is trying to avoid her sister’s wedding. The action scenes are over-the-top in a honey badger way. I love this series. When I grow up, I want to be a honey badger.

The Queen of Shifter Slow Burn romance is back everyone with my favorite group, the honey badgers! These are no ordinary shifters by any means. They are Trouble with an emphasis on the capital T. I received an advance reader copy of this book for free from NetGalley and the author and I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts are my own.
This is the final book in the basketball group of honey badgers and picks up right at the end of the last one with last two of the group finally getting together. Nelle and Keane are definite opposites and not just in species. Nelle loves shopping, for everything and everyone. She nominated herself to be the chief organizer of her crazy friends, shopping and plotting on ways to create sanity for all (honestly she’s doing the world a favor ). Keane, well he hates everyone and almost everything except his mom, sister and niece yet his thirst for revenge against those that killed his dad is his new passion. Enter Nelle and her take charge actions ( with a little push from the OG troublemakers) as she “helps” ( or hinders depending on your viewpoint) Keane get a resolution. The romance between the two is definitely a slow burn an honestly almost like a comedy show at first, but boy once the flame is burning it is super hot indeed.
I highly recommend reading this whole series before this one. You probably (ok definitely) can enjoy this on its own but to really, really enjoy it you have to know the whole story. There is a lot of back and forth side stories going on as so many different things are happening all at once and all over the world which to some can be hard to track if you’re new to the craziness of it all, but everything ties up perfectly in the end. Also I’m happy to say it has all your favorite characters making an appearance, with all their quirkiness in abundance, plus some new ones that I’m starting to love (fingers crossed we get an 80s OG honey badgers story some day).
This is another must read book by this author. Her style of blending action, drama and romance with a helping hand of snarky humor is bar none the best. The big question is who’s more trouble, the OG honey badger girls or the younger generation? Still a perfect ending. 4.5 stars, must read.

It's Nelle's turn to get a story, and Keane is along for the ride. There is a shifter war going on, and the badgers are fighting for their continued existence. If you know anything about these honey badger shifters, they are going to survive ultimately. The question is how much collateral damage there will be. Nelle is trying to keep that down as much as possible. Even an incredibly strong badger like Charlie needs to be protected sometimes. Keane's family also has a stake in this war, so even though he thinks Nelle is a bit insane, he is willing to assist her. The two of them find that they have a lot in common as they come to trust one another. The rest of the book involves much baking, fighting, and snarking. It's a lot of fun with a distinct possibility of more about Charlie. We all need more Charlie.

ARC:
Such a fun read!! I've always enjoyed Shelly Laurenston's writing. She is funny and witty. Her characters are rarely boring, annoying, or dumb. And the plot is engaging. I was captivated from beginning to end. Can't wait to see what she does in this world next!

Ms Laurenston is always a 5 star read for me, unfortunately this book was a 4 star for me. It had the typical flair, chaos, and unadulterated fun, but something was lacking a bit. There was so many storylines, they detracted from the main story. I almost wanted to start a Venn diagram to keep track of everyone. When you have read her earlier books they were much more focused on the main couple, this was all over the place. Keane and Nelle were incredible, I just wish they had had more plot and time in this book. They had such a great connection I wish we could have had more of their relationship.

Nelle being one of the Honey Badgers we had previously met --- Charlie, Max, and Stevie and the assorted characters connected to them, played a large part in this story. There was so much going on, it lost focus in the middle of the book. I love her plots and characters - this was just a lot.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington for the ARC

Finally Nelle and Keane get their book after building their romance in the two previous books.
They’re perfect together and complement each other. They have both opinions of the other that with time they see were wrong.
Nelle is amazing. Always seen as a rich vapid girl, but there’s a lot more to her than meets the eye. Keane is the same situation, seen as a brute handsome jock, even stupid, but he’s not at all.
We get the Old Crone Reading Club, Charlie, Stevie, Max, the teammates, and other characters from The Pride series too.
The book starts with action and keep it going during the whole story. It continues with the story where the previous book ended. They’re at war and on their own, nobody to support and/or help, but still they manage to do what’s necessary and succeed. Problems and questions from previous books are fixed and answered.
Several different POV but the main ones are Nelle's and Keane's.
As always, lots of humour!
It just ends but with a really nice ending.

Details:
- Neither virgins.
- No OP drama.
- H in his thirties, h is 29.
- HEA.

To Kill a Badger is a stand alone in the Honey Badger Chronicles. Like its predecessors, it features a cast of wildly wacky characters! Nelle, our heroine, is a fixer of sorts. She has managed the crises of her teammates and saved them from themselves. She is determined to do the same for Keane, even though he doesn't want her help.

What I have always enjoyed about these books is that the characters are crazy! Hilariously, slightly unhinged, crazy. Its just so funny! Nelle and Keane were great-they have this begrudging romance that builds. Keane really doesn't want to deal with her at first, but she grows on him. There are also lots of plotlines from other stories. The shifter world Laurenston has created is VAST and it can feel a little overwhelming at times, especially if this is the only series of hers you have read (like me). But, the characters are delightful and I have enjoyed all these books because they are swoony, funny, and enjoyable and To Kill a Badger was no exception.
