I was given a copy of " To kill a badger" by Shelly Laurenston from NetGalley to read. Love the author and love the book! The only reason this review took a while was I reread the first five books. Won't give any spoilers but it has almost every gendre in it shifters, family, love adventure, friendship, horror and mystery. Every book can be read alone but so much better as a series. Shelly Laurenston is a must read author. "To kill a badger" is a must read book.

I did enjoy this "romance" though I should have researched a bit note before digging in in the middle of a series. I went in expecting shifter romance. I got a while lot more action, adventure, and mystery. Once I accepted my get fun and entertaining fate I was all in. The romance is definitely an aside in this book despite being open door. I adored the MMC and loved-despised the F mC which was by design and wonderfully done.
My only issue is now my TBR is even longer BECAUSE I HAVE to go back and read the prior books.
You've been warned.

Thank you for the arc. We delve into the world of honey-badgers. And what a chaotic world it is. And I enjoy chaos. I was dissatisfied when it comes to the romance and felt like this instalment had so many side characters and their POVs, that it felt like the story was not about Gong and Keane. I did however enjoy this read. Shelly Laurenston never disappoints

Offbeat, hilarious, and packed with action, romance, and the kind of family drama Shelly Laurenston nails every time. The moment I finished, I wanted to start over — it’s that good. I’ve missed the Badgers, and I’m hoping we’ll see more of them, especially mixed in with the younger generation from the “Chrones.”
This book also teases the chance to catch up with favorites from previous series, and maybe even see them get future stories. Her other shifter series were my first introduction to Shelly Laurenston, so those characters will always be special to me.
A mix of shifters from across her worlds would be perfect — because no one brings “a little crazy” to action and romance like the Badgers. They’re chaotic, hilarious, and completely unforgettable.

I love Shelly Laurenston's bantering style between her characters. However, I might be finished with this series. There are just so many characters to keep track of. I also like my romance to be more of a focus than it was in this book. I give To Kill a Badger 3.5/5 stars. But I suggest people give it a try since my issues are not the same as others.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for providing an ARC of To Kill A Badger by Shelly Laurenston. All opinions are my own

I love Shelly Laurenston books, all of them every single time. I'm still not enjoying the Badger ones as much as some of the others, but that may be the fault of the world as built, that it keeps getting deeper and more complicated. I still love them and re-read them, they're just a lot darker than the rest of the shifter books.

Shelly Laurenston wrote this perfectly and I was invested in what was going on.this was a strong sixth entry in the Honey Badger Chronicles series, it had that element that I was looking for from the previous five entries in this series. The characters were everything that I wanted and enjoyed the overall package of this. The characters continued to feel like they belonged in this world and using the shape-shifting element perfectly.

This was wild and crazy and absolutely hilarious and I expected nothing less. In my opinion, the Honey Badger series is one of Laurenston’s best and To Kill a Badger was no exception.
I loved Nelle and Keane’s relationship. They were clearly done with everyone’s drama and, despite being opposites, meshed so well together and were weirdly cute.
I was always curious about Keane as an MMC. He was such a grumpy cat throughout the whole series but such a loner that you didn’t really learn much about him. I loved that he embodied a typical angry house-cat and some of my favourite scenes were the ones when he got bored with the situation like him knocking over the water bottles over and over again 😂
The entire honey badger cast never fails to make me cackle. From the MacKilligan sisters and Nelle’s besties/teammates to the old crones, they are pure chaos personified.
I was so sad to finish this book. It’s such an easy, fun comfort read and a welcome escape. I can’t wait to see who’s up next in the team!

Shelley Laurenston continues her hilarious, honey badger, shape-shifting series with her latest release, To Kill a Badger. Nelle Zhao is a wealthy fashionista honey badger who is girly, flirty, and down for a good time; she also deals in sensitive and confidential information on a global scale. Keane Malone is a grumpy amur tiger shifter who has little patience for Nelle’s vapid selfie taking and ostentatious family wealth. However, Nelle and Keane must work together because there is a psychotic family of lion shifts, the de Medici Coalition, who are trying to cause the extinction of all honey badgers.
Shelley Laurenston’s Honey Badger Chronicles series is laugh-out-loud funny, quirky, and strange in the best way and Nelle’s book is a welcome addition. To me, the really great thing about the series is that you know all the characters and you get to follow them from book to book. Laurenston doesn’t just tell the story from the hero/heroine’s point of view, but she also revisits past characters points-of-view as well. So, if you have a favorite character, you get to read about them time and time again. I didn’t realize the full extent of Nelle’s role in the group but seeing her manage everyone around her was eye-opening. Keane was a fun surprise as well; he had a lot more depth than in the previous books. Overall, another great addition to the Honey Badger Chronicles series!
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for sharing this advanced review copy with me in exchange for my honest feedback!

Lions and tigers and honey badgers...OH MY! The queen of paranormal strikes again with a delicious romance that is egged on with ridiculous humor, world ending action scenes, and a storyline that you'll be sad to see end. Bring on the next book!

Shelly has done it again. With literal laugh out loud moments, the adventures of Nelle and Keane had me laughing and turning the page well past my bedtime. I love how well chosen family is portrayed in this series. With Charlie, Stevie and Max being in the center of this series and the subsequent books giving us glimpses of the characters’ past all while continuing the future.
Nelle shows why she is a true honey badger-ready to stir up drama as long as it’s not related to her sister or her mother. She knows her girls on the basketball team and makes things easier for them, of course in her own way whether they want the help or not.
Keane trying so hard to be the big brother and man of his home all with having issues related to his father’s death. (I loved his mom in this book.). He tries to come across as a brute but as we had seen in the previous books, he is loyal to what he considers his family and that quickly involves Charlie and her sisters and Nelle and the rest of the basketball team.
I loved this book. I love this series! They are always preordered from the start and I reread the entire series multiple times a year. It is always bittersweet to finish the books because then I have to wait so long for the next one.

I've been reading everything Shelly Laurenston writes for quite a while and I'm pretty attached to the characters. I love that she finally united Keane and Nell. They make a great couple but there is just as much action as there is romance. The honey badgers are outrageous, hilarious, loyal and never boring. I'm already anticipating who will fall in love next!

I already need, want, will beg for another Shelly Laurenston badger book! This was an absolutely fantastic addition to the honey badger series and gave us even more crazy characters to laugh about. Nell and Keane were a pair we’ve all been waiting for and we knew the stakes were going to be high after the craziness of the last couple of books so it was great to see how it all concluded.
Nell and Keane get thrown together to help out with the crisis against all the badgers. Nell thinks she’s spearheading it all but is actually being maneuvered by someone else and has to deal with the crones (who seriously steal the show in this book!). The action, romance, and cast of characters made this such a fun and fast read. I never wanted it to end. I need more!

3.5 stars.
Absolute insanity. Another fun, wild, violent, and exciting entry into the Honey Badger Chronicles. Here we wrap up the overarching plot from the past two novels. We get Keane and Nelle as the new couple, though I'm not sure you could call them the main characters. This book, like the others in the series, has a LOT of different POVs. I'm personally not a super big fan of this. While it does make for a deeper story exploration, it can also be quite confusing at times. Though if you're reading this one, you will have read the other books in the series, so you know what you're in for.
I did really enjoy seeing more of Keane, who is really just a grumpy and overbearing older brother in the background in the other books. And Nelle's character is super fun. I like that she's not quite as unhinged as the other badgers, but when she gets pushed over the edge you can see those insane characters traits.
Unfortunately, I found the older honey badger characters to be incredibly annoying, and I would have preferred if they weren't so central to the story.
Overall, if you've read the other books in the series, you won't be disappointed by this last instalment. If you haven't, definitely go back and start at "Hot and Badgered"!

Excellent read as usual. With a cameo from Blaine, Dee-Ann, & Cella for the nostalgic /happy feeling. I did miss Miles and Rick, but we had Dee-Ann for Ric as a consolation. This was the conclusion of the honey badger chronicles, with the start of work for an organisation for badgers headed by Charlie. As for the romance, Nelle & Keane are the last of their group. Nelle for the honey badger, Keane for the Malone. Keane as the eldest of the Malones, has an elder-sib mance with Charlie that is adorable, & Nelle is the manager/fixer in the group to the eternal annoyance of Madd. That makes her uncially suited for Keane, & the time that it is Nelle flipping her switch, well Keane is big & fast enough to catch & hold her. That got them working seamlessly & from there, sex happens😂, & they discovered they fit.

Reliable fun!
I love MacKilligan's Honey Badger family and extended family. The sixth installment in the series was once again full of fun, action, a little romance, and plenty of banter between friends.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the early review copy!

I have not speeded my way through a book this fast in a while. I went in blind, not having heard of the author or this series. The only thing I knew was that this book could be read as a standalone so jumped in. My god was I taken by a train to crack-town. My stomach still hurts after all the surprising laughing. I do not normally read gore, but here the humour made it all better and shielded me like a Terry Pratchett bubble. Let me tell you: I read this book in 2 days and then I bought all the other 5 books immediately. This was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much the publisher and NetGalley for giving my emotions a run for its money.

Loved every minute of this book laugh out funny love all the multiple point of view new characters I just couldn’t put it down

Wow a lot was happening in this book. A lot of it was pointless. It seemed like the characters were chasing their own butts for no reason.
I think the reason is though, that the author is using this book to set up the storyline for a new interconnected series, wooohooo!
Great book, the usual butt kicking, great quirky characters and plently off blood guts and baking.
