This was a great final to this series. If you had told me that when we were introduced to the Malone brothers that Keane would be my favourite, I would have called you a liar. The character development for him really worked for me. I honestly liked him probably more than Nelle. Especially once he decided to just go all in with Nelle. I do feel like the last couple heroines in this series suffered from the same issue for me which was that they only really have one personality trait, ei : likes basketball, likes to be on time, like to take care of stuff for other people. So I feel like even though I liked Nelle, she definitely wasn’t the star for me. The conclusion of the over arcing storyline in this one was very satisfying while also leaving some fun loose ends for future books. I’m very excited and hoping for a full series about the “crones” overall I really enjoyed this series, if you are looking for a fun, fast paced, shifter romance with characters that will leave an impression then I highly recommend.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for a honest review.

To Kill a Badger by Shelley Laurelton is the last in the series, this is Keane and Nelle's story. I was so excited to read the conclusion of the de Medici family and how the girls would end them. I was not disappointed, it took me a few chapters to get into the remembering what has happened in previous books, so I would highly recommend reading the previous books. I had so much fun reading this book, I really tried to slow down and really enjoy everyone. It was like coming back to old friends. I would highly recommend. I am now going to go reread the previous stories so that my fun doesn't end.

To Kill A Badger by Shelly Laurenston (Honey Badger Chronicles #6) 5 stars

A continuation of the Honey Badger Chronicles following 2023 “Born to Be Badger” features another member of the basketball/strike team in the forefront. Nelle Zhao, social media maven and wealthy honey badger has her problems. First, kill her enemies before they try to kill her and second, survive having to participate in her sister’s wedding. Multiple action packed sequences taking place all over the world is the norm in this story. Her reluctant partner is Keane Malone, a tiger shifter/football player who could care less about anything or anyone else other than family and football.

What we have is Ms. Laurenston signature snark and comedic one liners that are standard for the shifter books. I will admit that the cameos of individuals from other books are like easter eggs in a movie – delightful and fun to read. Ms. Laurenston has now written books about almost all the honey badger teammates/friends; so the reader may get a different featured group in the shifter series next time. I had a blast reading this book and look forward to another book in this world. There is still one Malone sister that is a tiger/honey badger hybrid available to for a match.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Publishing for this ARC.

As always, Shelley Laurenston expertly weaves humor and excitement into her storytelling, and this book is no exception.

In "To Kill a Badger," we get better acquainted with Nelle, the quintessential take-charge girl who meticulously plans every detail to ensure smooth execution. Her counterpart, Keane, the moody Malone brother with a passion for football and an unwavering loyalty to his family, shifts dramatically when he encounters Nelle. She embodies everything he didn’t realize he needed, and their chemistry is electric.

The narrative is fast paced, filled with so much action that it leaves you breathless at times. A standout aspect of this story is the close-knit community surrounding the MacKilligan girls—friends who are fiercely loyal and will stop at nothing to protect them. As Nelle and Keane embark on a perilous journey across the country to safeguard these ladies, they encounter an array of eccentric honey badger women, each contributing their unique brand of hilarity and support.

With laugh-out-loud moments blended seamlessly into thrilling escapades, "Hot and Badgered" undoubtedly captivates from beginning to end.

If you haven't yet delved into this delightful series, I highly recommend it. It's a fantastic escape into a world filled with wit, camaraderie, and unexpected adventures.

I know that Shelly Laurenston’s honey badgers work for me and To Kill A Badger is another great additional to the series. Nelle is hysterical with her attitude and wealth and yet she’s down to earth and takes no shit. Keane is the toughest of the Malone brothers but he’s secretly a pussycat deep instead. They complement each other so well. Honestly, the only reason this isn’t a five star is because I want more time to see the relationship between Nelle and Keane develop. These books are fast moving and plot heavy and there are a lot of characters. The aunts play a big role in this one and while I want there backstories, I felt like they sometimes took over the plot too much. Despite this, To Kill a Badger was a fun and laugh out loud romp!

Nelle and Keane are a great pair! I love the honey badgers. We see a lot of character cameo's in this book. The story was a fun read, the villains were villainous, the revenge scenes were bloody good. I do wish Stevie had shifted, but everyone got some page time. I smiled a lot reading this. The badgers are hilarious. Such a fun series.

Things have finally come to a head. We get answers to questions we have been asking for awhile.

Nelle and Keane are perfect together. She is definitely the leader of her small group of friends. She keeps them out of trouble and helps them even when they don't want it. Keane has been the male figure in his family since his father died. He has been keeping on his siblings to make sure they are the best that they can be.

Lots of action and screaming between family members. I really enjoyed the story.

And we're back with the next installment of the badger series. This time the romantic focus is on Keane and Nelle. Their romance and growing closer together is interspersed between an explanation of who the badger elders are, with similarities between the elders and Nelle and her teammates being pointed out. It seems this book is a setup for the next series focused on the badger elders, Ox, Rutowski, and Yoon or the "old crones" as Max calls them.

Though the focus is on the crones, we do see more of our favorites, Charlie, and Stevie, we also are given insights to the Malone clan, specifically Mama Malone. We also learn Max has many names, my favorite being Maximus Dominus MacKilligan, per Arthur Zhao.

Beware the majority of the, "let's end this," action takes place at the end of the book. We are left with the beginning of a badger protection coalition, similar to BPC, The Group, and Katzenhaus. Happy reading.

I can’t wait for the next book by Shelly Laurenston!

Nelle Zhao is all about managing her teammates and winning the shifter women’s professional championship because honey badgers attract trouble from every side if she can get finished with her sister’s over-the-top wedding to a full human who has no idea that he’s marrying into a honey badger family.

Nelle and her teammates are trying to stave off a shifter war with the lion de Medici Coalition with a “little” help from Mads aunt Tracey Rutowski and her crazy honey badger friends. All this happens while Nelle drags tiger shifter Keane Malone off the help her save the honey badgers.

I love to read any of Shelly Laurenston’s books because they are over the top funny and little irreverent as they try to save the world with help from their friends, families and a little accidental help from a few enemies.

I can’t wait for the next book by Shelly Laurenston!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

To Kill a Badger is another fun, chaotic ride through Shelley Laurenston’s quirky shifter world. Nelle, the planner of her wild friend group, is balanced perfectly by Keane, a grumpy tiger shifter on a mission. I loved that he wasn’t fazed by her wealth, and their dynamic felt fresh and fun. There are more POV shifts than usual, but it adds depth and keeps the story moving. The mix of humor, action, and light romance (not overly spicy!) makes this a great addition to the series.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington for the chance to read an ARC of To kill a badger by Shelly Laurenston. This is the 6th book in the Honey badger chronicles (a sub series of the author's Pride series) and started reading it as soon as I received it because these books are hilarious (as well as hot and blood-thirsty!!!) You know when honey badgers are front and center the action is ridiculously snarky, bloody, and steamy!!! The plot was more complicated than some of the previous stories, but it's so hilarious I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this series (and the previous series) for those who love shifter romances with kick-ass heroines!

The honey badgers are at it again. Max, Charlie, and Stevie along with Max’s team mates have angered the lions and must race around Europe to stop them. ARC from NetGalley.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5 stars)

A satisfying, action-packed, and hilarious conclusion to the Honey Badger Chronicles!

Shelly Laurenston once again delivers with To Kill a Badger, the sixth book in the Honey Badger Chronicles. This book hits all the classic Laurenston strengths — razor-sharp, laugh-out-loud dialogue, fantastic chemistry between the leads, and a plot that balances action, humor, and heartfelt moments. It’s always a treat to revisit beloved characters from the previous books, and this finale does a great job bringing everyone together while tying up long-running storylines.

The chemistry between Nelle and Keane is electric from the start — their interactions are both hilarious and surprisingly tender. Fans of Laurenston’s snarky, over-the-top banter will not be disappointed, and the action sequences are just as wild and entertaining as expected.

My only critique (and what keeps this from being a full 5-star read) is that the story spends a bit too much time on the antics of the “crone” badgers. While funny in small doses, their scenes sometimes took the spotlight away from more meaningful development of the main characters, Nelle and Keane. A little more depth there would have made this book even stronger.

That said, To Kill a Badger is a fantastic, fast-paced ride and a great capstone to the Honey Badger series. While you could technically read it as a standalone, it’s much more rewarding if you’ve followed the full series — and even richer if you’re familiar with the “Pride” series that came before it.

Highly recommended for fans of shifter romances with a side of chaos, family mayhem, and unapologetic badass heroines!

My thanks to NetGally for making an eARC of this book available for my review.

This is one of my favorite series from the last ten years, and this book just adds to the enjoyment. The very slow burn romance balances well with the crazy pace of everything else that's happening in this book. There were many laugh-out-loud moments, and plenty of action to keep us entertained. I think that honey badgers are now officially my favorite shifter species.

That was so twisty, so funny, so wild, I really didn’t want it to ever end! The Honey Badgers of this gen tangle with the Honey Badgers of the previous gen, and the results, as expected from our oh so calm *haha* ladies. On the other hand, we have Mr Mean and Grumpy incarnate, as this Mongolian tiger, eldest of that part of the Malone family, tries to keep up with all the happenings around him, and care for those he loves. This was a reunion of sorts, and we get time with all the previous couples, and some Van Holtz’s. It takes us to the very end to get the whole story, and it’s a doozy, and promises wilder times in the future 😊

I've been reading Shelly Laurenston's books for a long time now. I know she is good and I enjoy the worlds she creates, her style, her plots, her humour, her feminism…, so when I started To Kill a Badger I was looking forward to it, I am enjoying tremendously the Honey Badger Chronicles and I couldn't wait for the next one. The book accomplishes all the expectations: badger shenanigans? check; hilarious and kooky situations? check and so on, this book proudly follows the others in this series and in all of Laurenston's shifters universe.
The surprise came (and shame on me for being surprised) with the complexity of this book. There are so many things happening at the same time, so many voices and the author is on top of it, not letting any ball drop, creating a well-timed and well-narrated complex story. The construction is very well executed and more intricate than in other books of the series, but it is well done and necessary, there are many things happening to many people in many places…
Shelly Laurenston is a very good writer.
I can't wait for the next one (I know, this is not published yet!), wherever she takes us, I will surely follow.

I love fluffy, funny gratuitous violence, components that make up the back bone of Shelly Laurenston’s Honey Badger Chronicles. To Kill a Badger, the most recent entry into the series is no different. More of a slow burn than the previous entries into the series Nelle and Keane spend most of the novel on a fool’s errand as the deal with the McGilligan family war with the de Medici lion coalition.

This novel seamlessly intertwined multiple plot points that to tell a full story. As usual the cast of secondary characters help to ensure we the readers spend the entire novel laughing. Nelle and Keane (Uncle Mean) snipe at each other as they fight their attraction. Before the two realized they had gone from force allies to being in love.
Without giving too much away the secondary stories stole the show, Charlie and Stevie knew when and how to bring out the knives to fix the problem. Finding out that the entire situation was arranged in order to ensure that Charlie would agree to be the woman in charge of the newly formed Badger Protection Organization.

I greatly appreciate having been given the opportunity to read an advanced digital copy of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another LOL romance about the honey badgers. Nelle has to help everyone... Keane is out to avenge his dad's murder and must work closely with Nelle.

Lots of LOL scenes as expected. Fun and crazy situations with the honey badgers as always. Love the larger than life characters.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

This is highly unusual for me but I can only give this latest book 4 stars and not 5 stars
as the Author usually warrants .
Why you may ask ? - well for a start I thought I would need a spreadsheet to
keep who was where, who was with whoever and what the main thread was meant
to be at anyone time !!!
There are plots within plots , within plots throughout this book so concentrate .
But my main grouse was having to put my full concentration from one paragraph
to the next to find out who was speaking and what was going on - it could go from Charlie
baking in her kitchen to Nelle and Keane fighting in Paris to the Crones trying to get access to Charlie - this
disrupted the flow to the story . I don't mind multiple POVs if the storyline warrants it
but not realising which country I was in until half way down the next paragraph was disconcerting at times.
I did love how Charlie resolved the issue of the Medici females and cubs situation
That being said there were the usual chaotic scenes in the "baking" queues and laugh out loud moments
between Nelle and Keane plus a convoluted storyline ( which I hope will lead to further books for resolution)
that makes for an entertaining read
One question was raised in my mind - so unless I have misunderstood previous storylines - I thought Charlie
had already been recruited by Imani Ako to defend all honey badgers - so why was she recruited this time - again
this could be my misreading of previous events , if so ignore my rambling !!!
I (im)patiently await for the next book from the Author who is always on my automatic pre-order list

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Love this series! And author! Gotta love the honey badgers, as they make great characters in this shifter series. Also love the bears who line up around the block to get fresh baked items. Highly recommend this series and author.
