A fun continuation of the series, following the relationship between vengeful growly Keane Malone and wealthy meticulous Gong "Nelle" Zhao, as they navigate the dangers of the imminent conflict between the honey badgers and the de Medici coalition. The story is multi-narrative, prominently featuring perspectives including the main couple, the MacKilligan sisters, Mads' aunt and her friends, and a handful of limited-appearance side characters.
Good blend of humour and action through the story (including brief laughter at a couple of points), but given the previous books and existing relationship between Keane and Nelle, it was surprising it took so much of the book for them to act despite Keane's growing awareness of his feelings. (Though I admit to not being the best at subtle cues of attraction/feelings, so this assessment may be flawed.) Also felt even more "well, you're here, attractive, and we usually get on" than previous installments in the series. An enjoyable read, but not my favourite of the series, and read more for other characters and ongiong plot than interest in the actual romance. As always, Charlie brought me great joy in her handling of any situation.
A varied pace. hits different emotional notes, a great cast of characters. Minor trigger warning for domestic abuse (implied) and its side-effects. Worth continuing the series with this book, and would recommend to paranormal romance readers who like stories with ensemble casts and more plot to them.

I have been anxiously awaiting this book but it took me forever to read it. I kept getting distracted and confused by how the dialogue runs together. Which drives me crazy! It wasn’t as funny as some of the others but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Lots of point of views. A little steamy. Bears, tigers, badgers, and dogs.
Nelle Zhoa is a honey badger shifter and comes from a very rich family. Keane Malone is a tiger shifter and football player. Keane wants the de Medici family wiped out because they killed his father. The de Medici family wants Nelle and her friends destroyed because they killed their father and left him in their mansion. Nelle wants to keep Charlie calm so she goes after the de Medici’s. But some older badgers are sticking their nose into their business.

Nelle Zhao has been best friends and teammates with the craziest honey badgers since junior high. Recently, they have been targeted and attacked by some territorial human trafficking lions. And the idiot lions are threatening to escalate to an entire species war. So Noelle steps into to contain this disaster and ropes Keane Malone into her project. He's mean, cranky and perfect. He just has to admit that she's perfect too.

Why I started this book: Laurenston's honey badgers find joy in taking what they want, are unapologetic about their weird interests and find joy in annoying others. I need that crazy energy in my fiction...

Why I finished it: Noelle and Keane are learning just how tricksy honey badger friends can be as Mads' aunt is determined to "help." Honestly, Noelle will handle this, plus as a bonus, she can avoid her sisters rabid wedding planning. Fun addition to the whole crazy series.
