This book was so heartwarming and charming! I loved the entire thing. Melissa Grace has written romances in the past and I do appreciate that there was a romance, but the heart of the story is the relationship between Marjorie and Kat. Both pushed each other throughout the story to become better versions of themselves. I adore both. The book is filled with magic, humor, emotion and heart. I highly recommend to those looking for a feel-good read - especially in the fall for those mood readers. I feisty spirit is on the loose!

Marjorie & Me was an unexpected delight that climbed to the top of my favorite books of 2025! The relationship between Kat and Marjorie showed how important women friendships are, and I loved how each of them learned from each other to become better versions of themselves. While the main relationship focus was between Marjorie and Kat, the book had many supporting characters who I wanted to be friends with in real life. As far as the story goes, I loved how it made me laugh one chapter and tear up the next. It was a wonderful reading experience all around!

I love the characters in this book. Each one stood out and created the perfect, unforgettable cast. It had the perfect balance of humor and heart, romance and friendship. This is such a special story I will recommend to every reader!

Kat Simon is a radio show host who has had trouble getting past the 3rd date. After getting dumped rather brutally on-air during her segment, her cohost friends set up dates for her with some listeners.
Meanwhile, Kat goes to her friend’s antique store and brings home a glamorous urn which she discovers is…occupied… by the ghost of a rather feisty Emily Gilmore-esque southern woman named Marjorie Lockwood. At first glance, Kat and Marjorie don’t seem to have much in common, but they become fast (if somewhat reluctant) friends and realize they can help each other.
The intergenerational friendship that blossoms between Kat and Marjorie is so beautiful. This book had me laughing and crying multiple times (sometimes at the same time) and generally feeling all the feels. Aside from the paranormal experiences, Kat and Marjorie are so relatable in their own ways.
Kat helps Marjorie discover her unfinished business and shows her what love and friendship can be like, while Marjorie helps Kat discover her worth and see what’s been in front of her all along.
As a mostly romance-reader, I thought the romance storyline was so sweet and it really rounded out the book, and it did so without detracting from the importance of Marjorie and Kat’s journey together. This is one of my new favorite books.
In other words: don’t walk, RUN to get this book!!!

This was a fun and cute read, but I was disappointed because this sounded like a paranormal age gap Sapphic romance, and it's definitely not that. I liked it fine anyway. Fun banter, an Emily Gilmore-esque ghost, and a sweet romance.
Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review.

This was the author's first book after finishing her beloved Midnight in Dallas series and I thoroughly enjoyed all the paranormal shenanigans as FMC, Kat, a morning talk show host buys an urn and discovers she can see the dead woman's spirit that's attached to it.
As Kat tries to find love with the help of her friends (old and new) she discovers the love of a man who's been a friend for years might just be what she's been waiting for all along, if only she can learn to believe she's worthy of being loved and that not everyone is going to leave her.
I loved the quirky mix of romance and women’s fiction with an Emily Gilmore style ghost, an enviable intergenerational (dimensional) female friendship and tons of self-discovery/growth. My only complaint was that the third-act break up made me want to shake both the MCs and felt unnecessary. However the ending ultimately made up for it.
Highly recommended for fans of closed door love stories, the movie Ghost or books like First time caller by BK Borrison and definitely a new fav by Melissa Grace. Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

This book completely caught me by surprise. It was funny and charming and gave me all those wonderful feels. Marjorie definitely has Emily Gilmore’s fantastic sarcasm. I loved everything minute! There were so many funny lines in this book. I couldn’t get enough. This book was well written with a unique storyline and great, well developed characters. The emotion jumped off the page. This book captured my heart! I loved the paranormal mixed in with real life. I’m definitely keeping my eye on Melissa Grace. I’m looking forward to reading more books by her. I received this book from Melissa Grace and Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

This was such a fun, fall vibes read! There was snark and humor and an entertaining plot. This is one I can picture myself reading when that Halloween mood hits.

I loved every page of this book! The friendship between Kat and Marjorie was simply perfect. I wasn't a fan of Jude at first but he grew on me by the end.

Friends-to-lovers is always very difficult to plan and execute. And worse... for me to like. Authors always confuse this trope with someone who was ALWAYS interested in the other person and now they've become lovers. This book made me truly feel the friendship, companionship, peacefulness, and true love. It was one of the best I've read.
Thank you NetGalley and the author for the eARC.

Thank you to Melissa and NetGalley for the arc.
This was an enjoyable book! All of the characters were lovable and meshed well together. I had a few issues with Kat herself, but nothing that made me want to stop reading the book. I love a found family and this book had a few top tier ones. 🩵

Marjorie & Me completely surprised me in the best way. A reluctant friendship between a self doubting radio host and a bold, bossy Southern spirit?? I was instantly hooked.
I devoured this in less than 24 hours. Kat and Marjorie’s dynamic was hilarious and heartfelt. It gave First-Time Caller vibes with a paranormal twist, and I caught myself laughing out loud more than once. I also highlighted so many lines I loved. This book celebrates all kinds of love, not just romantic, and the found family aspect made it even more special.
“But love doesn’t always happen like an epic fairy tale. Sometimes it happens one page at a time.” 🥹

I wasn't expecting to be absolutely blown away by the ending of this book! I think the advertising as a romance isn't quite right because I feel like the defining features of this plot are definitely the strong familial relationships built between the characters. Majorie and Kat really made me laugh and I loved how they slowly got to know and understand each other. I wasn't sold on Jude at the start and I felt like the Kat/Jude romance was very rushed, but as it develops alongside the reveal of Majories past I really enjoyed it. Becca, Dennis and Eddie were incredibly well written side characters that I'd love to hear more from!
The writing was beautiful and so expressive- it really felt like you were there with them. I loved the cozy plot and gorgeous character development.

So heartwarming and gives you faith in humanity again because, while some people can be not too great, it is possible to surround ourselves with lovely people (alive or dead in this case) and found family can be just as important as blood related family if not more sometimes.

how does one get away with carrying an urn everywhere they go? well with this book id happily do so. if it meant i could be in the world of these two woman for a moment longer. this was an endearing and lovable book that seemed to love you right back. a book with the best kind of friendship. one that reaches right out the pages and pulls at the reader own heart and gives us tingly toes of feel good too.
i did indeed fall in love with this book.
this book gave me so much of what i want in a book and all the things i never experienced in other of the same ilk. Melissa has topped this class here. she has done this book with a sprinkle of her own magic and made a spell of loveliness fall across us all.
there is love of all kinds in all parts in this book. romance yes. but also the love between friednships too.
Kat is brilliant. we come to her living her life until one day she buys an urn at an antique shop. but errrrrm there appears to still be someone ashes inside! oh and yeh, also her ghost...
and so Marjorie is now here in Kat's life and she isn't quiet about being so.
but its here our two form a fast friendship. Kat is on a finding her match dating spree. and Marjorie is now going to help her do so. and in return Kat is going to help Marjorie find out what it is that must be left unfinished for her to still be here and not off passed the pearly gates.
if you do one thing today choose this book. you wont regret a second of it. you wont want to put it down and you will feel so much better in heart and soul once you've read it.

This is a fun and sweet story centered around both romantic and friendship love!
Radio personality Kat Simon buys an urn at an antique shop, only to discover that it still contains a woman's ashes... and her ghost. Now, Kat is haunted by Marjorie, a judgmental Southern socialite. At the same time, after being dumped on-air, Kat is embarking on a public journey to find love with a series of blind dates. Kat and Marjorie strike up a friendship as Marjorie helps Kat prepare for dates and try to find Mr. Right, while Kat helps Marjorie investigate what unfinished business is preventing her from moving on.
This book has a wonderful intergenerational friendship, ghost dating coach, and found family! I enjoyed this one a lot!
Thank you so much to Melissa Grace and NetGalley for the free ebook in exchange for my honest review!

Five bright shining stars!!
This book took me apart and sewed me back together again. I really have no bad things to say about this book. The friends to lovers were perfect, the growth we see in both Kat and Marjorie is so well done. Jude is just the perfect friend turned lover. I finished this book in one day! I was in such a reading slump, and it pulled me right out. It's such a cozy good read, I will be telling all my girlfriends to pick this one up and give it a try.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC.
This was a very sweet book. I really loved the Marjorie & Kat parts of the book and the found family vibes of the whole thing.
I really loved how much they helped each other grow and blossom. All of Kat's friends were lovable.
I was only kinda meh about Jude, but he wasn't really the important part of this story.
Telling people your cat died when she's very much alive is diabolical.
