Miscommunication 🙄
Dual narration - Gail Shalon & Stephanie Nemeth Parker
A good listen. The miscommunication trope is strong during this story. I found myself frustrated with the characters at multiple points. I enjoyed the coming of age part for Addie truly finding herself. The spice was written well.
Overall it’s a good listen with some frustrating moments.

The narrators did a good job telling Toni and Addie’s story. My issue was I was never invested in said story. It didn’t hook me in.

3.5 stars
I really wanted to like this one more but it was mostly just okay with a few moments of wow. With another round of edits I think there could have been a little more depth that would have added a lot of impact.
Our main characters were engaging and do okay at standing up on their own. Their relationship dynamics were believable and worked for the plot.
The intro to the meet cute was pretty good but could have been improved with a touch more drama. And the whole fake marriage thing isn’t as big of a plot device as is advertised. The side characters were flat and did little more than fill in for partner dialogue.
Audio production was good and narration was 4/5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for the free ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for this audiobook ARC.
I have never read anything before by Melissa Marr - an error I will soon be correcting , as I adore this story!
I have struggled in the past to find good Sapphic love stories that feel realistic and genuine but also romantic and soft. 'Toni and Addie go Viral' really found that sweet spot.
The premise of the storyline was brilliant and unique, but I adore Toni and Addie's personalities. They both brought a balance to each other, I understood both of their views so well and felt empathetic to both of their struggles.
Melissa really conveyed so much of the realistic struggles of being a women in society, and a queer women at that. There were a lot of strong female charcters in this story so many powerful statements.
Loved this story.
Narrators were brillaint too

This is a close 4 stars,
I really really enjoyed this cute chaotic lesbian romance.
Addie’s fiery attitude really stole the show for me and I even liked Toni even though she drove me nuts. I think had I read this physically I might have lost my mind. I really hate when it’s a will they, won’t they thing going on for over 90% of the book, I think it’s quite honestly annoying and a waste of a really good story but somehow I wasn’t that bothered by it.

Thank you for this arc listen!
Here’s a shortened and simplified version of that
Toni and Addie is a sweet, thoughtful romance with well-developed, realistic characters. Both women have unique backstories that really shape who they are, but lacked a little in the overall character growth. Their relationship builds slowly, which made the connection feel earned. I appreciate the story and its heart.I overall find the book well-plotted, emotionally satisfying romance!
I found the voice acting really great!

Lesbian romance between a professor and student who are also writer and actress! This combination sounded fabulous when I read the blurb and was even amazing when I listened to the audiobook!!
The characters were wonderful and the pacing of the story was perfect. I loved how the story proceeded with little bit of information in each chapters and bit by bit I was getting to know the characters which made my reading experience so much better.
Plus the viral wedding and Victorian era reference in this plot was my favourite thing.
