Dame Beatrice Butler has rubbed shoulders on stage and screen with other celebrity actors. Her late husband bought her a theatre, which she named after herself, and she is staging a final pantomime production in her husband’s memory. Beatrice rules the production with an iron fist and intentionally goads an upsets the cast and theatre staff. Not surprisingly she is murdered just before the opening night performance. Conveniently the detecting trio from the Bad Girls Detective Agency, comprising Amber, Clio and Jeanie, are on the scene and determined to solve the case before the police can.
This is a fun story with a diverse mix a of characters although I didn’t particularly take to any of them. In the course of identifying the murderer the sleuthing trio get into some rather unlikely scenarios. The ending felt a little rushed and some storylines were left unfinished.

I could not get into this book. I found it to be very boring; it never actually grabbed my attention. I didn’t really want to pick it back up when I put it down. I didn’t particularly like any of the characters either. There was something about the writing style that did not connect with me. The whole thing was a miss.

Because murder is much more festive with tinsel and mistletoe! This was my first reading with Clio and the rest of the Bad Girls Detective Agency, but that didn't affect the story in my opinion. There is enough background provided to fill us in on the character. The relationship between Clio Amber, Jeanie and Melissa is so warm and loving. Fingers crossed Melissa gets Amber into a Christmas jumper soon!

What a fun and festive read! I wasn’t aware this was the fourth in the series but it wasn’t paramount to enjoying this book.
Really loved the writing, really draws you in, fun characters and relationships and I had such a great time uncovering the mystery! Definitely recommend for a different and festive read!

The Bad Girl Detectives are back, this time in a Christmassy setting. I enjoyed The Mistletoe Murder Club, and easy to read, cosy festive read.

Loved the setting of this book! It’s different to the types of books I normally read. I loved the FC and the way the author represented her. The mixer itself was interesting and the Christmassy features was a good treat to read. I really enjoyed it and felt glued to the book.

The Bad Girls Detectives (Clio, Amber and Jeanie) are back and this time it's festive. Clio has a part in the local panto, where the director is a national treasure actress. But it turns that she's pretty ghastly to everyone, so when she winds up dead, there's no shortage of suspects!
In steps the trio to investigate, with the usual twists, turns and tumbles along the way - plus the pantomime cow! The festive setting gave the story a fresh twist, and the developing storyline with Amber and her half-sister is really engaging.
Another great edition to the series!

The cover and the name made me want to read this book. I also liked how the name was invented ( you find if in the story).
This is a cosy murder mystery that takes place before Christmas. We have Clio, former actress and now a private investigator, that toghether with her best friends, Amber and Jeanie, have to solve a new case of murder.
The murder of the director happens on the opening night of the Christmas pantomime, so all the persons presents became suspects. More so, some of them seems to have motive to do it, because they really hated the director.
This story is a mix of funny moments, real friendship and mystery and secrets.
I liked the writting style and really enjoyed the book from start to end.
Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read the book in advance. This is my honest and only opinion.

really fun and propulsive read, that for much of it I thought would be a 5 star read, but the way the ending fourth or fifth played out was kinda exhausting and slowed it down a lot. 4 stars. tysm for the arc.

What a fun read! I went into this not realizing it was the 4th installment of the Bad Girls Detective Agency, but you didn’t need the first three to enjoy this one! A fun little holiday themed whodunnit that definitely kept me guessing on who actually did it.
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC.

The Mistletoe Murder Club was such a fun and festive cozy mystery. Katie Marsh delivers the perfect mix of humor, friendship, small-town charm, and of course—a little holiday murder.
Our main character, Clio, is a former actress whose new career as a private investigator keeps her in the middle of mischief. When she lands a part in the town’s Christmas pantomime, she expects cheesy lines and glitter—not a murder on opening night. Suddenly, she’s juggling the stage with sleuthing, and she pulls her best friends Amber and Jeanie into the chaos. Their loyalty and antics (yes, there’s a pantomime cow costume involved 🐄✨) had me laughing out loud.
What I really loved was how this book balanced its tones—it’s lighthearted and funny, but the mystery is genuinely clever too. The clues kept me guessing, and while I thought I had it solved more than once, the reveal still surprised me. At the same time, the warmth of the friendships and the cozy holiday setting made it the kind of story you just sink into with a smile.
This book is more than just a Christmas caper—it’s about finding your confidence, leaning on your people, and knowing when to step into the spotlight. Between the quirky cast, the clever twists, and the sparkling holiday vibe, it’s the kind of cozy mystery that leaves you both entertained and comforted.
If you enjoy The Thursday Murder Club or Only Murders in the Building but wish they came with tinsel and twinkle lights, you’ll love this one. 🎄🔍
Thank you NetGalley, Boldwood Books Ltd and Katie Marsh for the ARC.

Thank you Netgally and Boldwood books for the chance to read this book . I loved it , this is book 4 in the series and it is a good series . I love the way Katie writes and draws you in.
Obviously it’s a Christmas read but this is set at panto and the plot is as twisty as panto.
Loved the characters it was like you’re in the theatre yourself. Can’t wait for the next one . So worth a read.

The Mistletoe Murder Club is book four in a murder mystery series following three forty-something friends who run their own detective agency. This festive edition is set just before Christmas, centred around one of my favourite holiday traditions – the pantomime!
There’s a fun, Christie-like mix of murder attempts and suspects, though a few moments did pull me out of the story. The pace is lively, and I really enjoyed seeing the friends’ teamwork and camaraderie in action.
If you’re looking for a festive whodunit and can lean into the playful, over-the-top spirit of a pantomime, this is a charming, entertaining read.
Thank you to Katie Marsh, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the advance review copy.

A riotously fun cozy crime capped with festive flair—The Mistletoe Murder Club by Katie Marsh is the kind of mystery that sneaks up on you with laughter and keeps you hooked until the final “Who did it?” Clio, a former actress turned reluctant sleuth, finds herself center stage in her town’s Christmas pantomime… until the director is found dead on opening night. Rallying her friends (yes, even in a pantomime cow costume), she dives headfirst into a charming, twisty whodunit that feels like a cozy Thursday Murder Club with an extra dose of holiday cheer. Sharp-witted, unpredictable, and delightfully bonkers—this one’s a guaranteed page-turner for fans of lighthearted suspense.

At first, I wasn’t sure about this, I felt like there wasn’t enough emotion, and it seemed like no one cared that someone had just died on stage. I kept reading, though, and I’m glad I did. As the story unfolded and I learned the backstory behind each character, everything started to make sense. It completely changed how I saw the beginning. Definitely worth a read!

The Mistletoe Murder Club is a sparkling gem of festive crime fiction—equal parts cozy, clever, and delightfully theatrical. With a setting as charming as a snow-dusted village and a plot as twisty as a pantomime script, Marsh delivers a murder mystery that dances between hilarity and suspense with effortless grace.
At the heart of the story is Clio, a former actress turned struggling private detective, whose chance to shine in the town’s Christmas pantomime quickly turns dark when the director is found dead on opening night. What follows is a riotous investigation, complete with disguises, secrets, and a pantomime cow costume that deserves its own standing ovation.
Marsh’s writing is brisk and witty, her characters vividly drawn and irresistibly quirky. Clio, Amber, and Jeanie form a trio that’s as endearing as they are resourceful, and their sleuthing is laced with laugh-out-loud moments and genuine heart. The mystery itself is satisfyingly layered, with red herrings and revelations that keep the reader guessing until the final curtain call.
Fans of Richard Osman and Agatha Christie will find much to adore here, but Marsh’s voice is distinctly her own—warm, mischievous, and brimming with festive flair. The Mistletoe Murder Club is a joyful whodunit that proves murder can be merry, and sleuthing is best done with friends by your side.
A perfect stocking stuffer for lovers of cozy crime and Christmas cheer!
With thanks to Katie Marsh, the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

From start to finish I seriously enjoyed myself and to think I jumped right into book 4!! I definitely need to go back and read more of these ladies. This book was covered in drama and that ending I couldn't have imagined all of that and I was definitely surprised at the end after all the twist and turns

An easy read cosy crime I thoroughly enjoyed. Light, easy reading that doesn't get gruesome - just what we like!

This is a fun, read. Full of twists and turns and you're never sure of whom the murderer is right until the very end; nope, I didn't guess it either. Though the 4th book in the series, it can easily be read as a stand alone, though I suspect reading the others in order would help with figuring out the relationships. In fact, I've just gone and bought the first two, that tells you how much I enjoyed it. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the reading copy.
