I’d never thought I’d use the word quirky for a psychopathic stalker, but here I am.
Julie’s character, in a nutshell, is like most people; she has a good job and a lovely house. Maybe she just comes across a bit odd. The thing is, Julie is convinced the love of her life is Sean, but he doesn’t realize it. In fact, Sean is in love with someone else. But Julie will see to that.
Julie is delusional, obsessive, unhinged, a stalker, and a k*ller; you will understand this as you get to spend a lot of time in her head! Although there are moments of dark humor, the narrative becomes repetitive and bogged down in detail. I would have loved more character development for Julie. While we do get a glimpse of her fixation behavior in the past and its results, but why is she like this? What’s her real story? I needed something to push the pace along a bit quicker.
That said, it is a unique thriller with a main character I won’t soon forget.
🎧I loved having the audiobook to tandem read/listen to this book. Clare Corbett's vivid narration perfectly amplified Julie's quirkiness - an excellent choice in narrators!

Thank you @tantoraudio for the gifted audiobook via NetGalley.

I had a really good time with this. Sometimes it’s just nice to sit back and not have to try to feel empathy for the characters. Julie is scary af and at no point in this book did I feel like I was sympathetic to her… That being said, this was FUN!

Twisted and unpredictable in the best way possible, this story will make you question just how realistically we see ourselves and our life choices.

What a wild ride! This book is exactly what it promises: the unhinged inner world of a middle-aged woman with Olympic level delusions and a casual approach to murder. Julie Tudor isn’t a stalker... she’s just passionately committed to whoever she’s decided is the love of her life that week. An actor on TV? Soulmate. Her sister’s boyfriend? Obviously. The coworker she trained last Tuesday? Meant to be.
If you’ve ever been called "crazy" by a man, this book will have you cackling and wishing he had enough brain cells to read it. Because spoiler alert: Julie Tudor is absolutely a psychopath.

The Narrator, Clare Corbett, was a perfect fit for this audiobook! She sounded exactly how I would expect the FMC to sound. Even when speaking for other character throughout the book, she nailed their tones. This book was humorous and quickly paced. Overall, a fantastic audiobook that you can easily immerse yourself in!

This was a good story but the way it was written just kinda made it a little drawn out for me. Wanted to like it just a bit better! Still enjoyed!

I was entertained, Although a dark topic, the humour with which it was written and reading it from Julie's point of view was just pure fun. This is a great quick escape into the mind of a psychopath. Because there were no other perspectives, there were moments where I wondered what people were really seeing and thinking when it came to Julie, but I appreciated that it was just narrowed down to her point of view to show just how skewed her vision truly was despite what was happening in the real world around her. Enjoyable and great narration by Clare Corbett.
Thank you NetGalley and Tantor Audio for the arc.

Thanks to NetGalley and RBMedia for providing me with an ALC.
Spoiler: Julie Tudor is a psychopath. This was crazier and darker than I expected. Julie is the definition of delusional --- literally way off the scales. That ending was pretty smooth too. I liked the way the timelines were handled, really gave context to the story. The story was so off the rails that I'm rounding up my rating. Julie was extremely unlikeable and frequently made me want to punch her in the face (I think that was the desired outcome) but also made for a great unreliable narrator and character study. I also liked that she was middle-aged. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking for something dark with an unreliable narrator.
The narrator did a great job of expressing Julie's expressions and thoughts. It definitely made the story darker and more thrilling.

Thank you to NetGalley, Tantor Audio, and Jennifer Holdich for the gifted audiobook copy.
I’m rating this book 3.75/5.
This book arrived at the perfect time, as I’ve been going through a tough couple of weeks. It made me laugh out loud more than once and helped keep my mind occupied. I will always have love for dark humor and stories featuring unhinged women.
I think we’ve all met a Julie at some point in our lives (minus the murdering).
If you are looking for a quirky dark humour type of book, this is for you.
The narrator did a great job portraying Julie. I initially had a bit of trouble with the accent (I’m Canadian), but about 10% into the book, it started to feel completely natural.
Thanks again for the opportunity to listen, and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author!

Let’s be honest—Julie Tudor might not be a clinical psychopath, but she’s absolutely unhinged in the most entertaining way imaginable.
Julie Tudor Is Not a Psychopath is a wickedly smart psychological thriller that blends dark comedy with a twisted take on workplace obsession. Jennifer Holdich delivers a standout debut that had me laughing, gasping, and questioning everything I thought I knew about office drama.
Julie is a 49-year-old administrative assistant with a love for spreadsheets, abstract art, and a much younger coworker named Sean. But behind her perfectly organized exterior lies a spiral of obsession, delusion, and casual murder. She believes she’s starring in her own rom-com—except her rivals have a funny way of disappearing…
Told through dual timelines, we slowly uncover the unsettling trail Julie has left behind—from nursing school flings to office crushes, each love story ending in chaos. Her internal monologue is both chilling and hilarious, peppered with petty office grievances and moments of uncomfortable self-justification. Julie truly believes she’s the misunderstood heroine of her own romantic epic—and that might be the scariest part.
I couldn’t stop reading. Julie’s voice is addictive, her perspective warped but weirdly relatable in the most terrifying way. I laughed out loud more than once at her brutally honest, wildly inappropriate observations—often just before things took a much darker turn.
It’s a binge-worthy, pitch-black comedy that dives deep into the mind of someone who’s convinced love should be earned…at any cost.
If you enjoy thrillers with messy, morally grey characters, unreliable narrators, and a touch of gleeful mayhem, this book is for you. Julie Tudor is unlike any character I’ve read before—and I’m still not sure if I should be horrified or oddly impressed.

I really wanted to love this one. I’d seen it described as a female version of Joe from You, and that had me instantly intrigued. Unfortunately, it didn’t fully land for me. The timeline jumps didn’t flow in a cohesive way, which pulled me out of the story. I also struggled with the character development. Julie felt more like a concept than a person.
That said, the book did have its moments. The dark humor worked and gave it a little spark when the rest felt uneven. It’s not a bad book, just not one that fully met its potential. Overall, this is a “maybe” read ad some might love Julie’s twisted charm, but for me, it was just okay.
Thank you NetGalley & Tantor Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

this was giving if Angela from the Office had violent impulses - if HR snapped
from the point of view of a woman who *definitely isn't a pyschopath* but keeps getting thrown into situations that force her to be violent... but for real it was really interesting to read from such a skewed point of view about how these clueless men accidentally stumbled into her orbit without being any the wiser, the story is deeply uncomfortable, making you feel like an unwitting accomplice as we learn more and more about our "heroine"

Yeah so.. Julie Tudor is definitely a psychopath and not a fun one. This is an unreliable narrator and completely unlikable main character. Honestly, I love a stabby FMC - as long as they can give me *something* to root for. Julie Tudor is insufferable. I see other people mention humor but I did not get even a bit of heavy breathing out the nose over this. Based on other reviews it seems like people did really enjoy this, so it might just be that Julie and I didn’t vibe and that’s okay. Not every book can be for every person.
Maybe if Julie leaned into being a little crazy I’d like it better. Maybe if she was killing people who deserved it instead of just being obsessed with a man. I don’t know. All I do know is that for a character who is definitely a psychopath she also fell completely flat in every way. There was no real personality, and I was bored. The time jumps weren’t well placed either, in my opinion.
I don’t particularly enjoy unreliable narrators, and I also don’t like books with too many pop culture references. If those things didn’t bother me, it might have been a 2 star. Maybe.
I received an ARC copy and an ALC copy, so I was listening while I read with my eyes at the same time. The audiobook alone I would have DNFed. I did not particularly like the narrator. She sounded *too* posh for me, and I feel like Julie needed a bit of shrillness in certain areas. Instead it just felt monotone, and in some sections/during some characters it was giving Mrs. Doubtfire. I did stop the audiobook entirely around 73% and finished just with the ebook, and I do wish I had just DNFed sooner. I just didn’t care. And I still don’t care. And it’s unfortunate because I feel like this could have been fun.
Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks and Tantor Audio for sending this as an audiobook and egalley for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This was quite an interesting read. And for the record, Julie Tudor is most definitely a psychopath! Haha! She is one interesting woman, and boy is it fun to get inside her head with her inner monologues to see what makes her tick. In some ways, you can feel her loneliness and your heart breaks for her while in other ways as her story unfolds, she is like a train wreck that you just can’t look away from.
Filled with dark humor and a quirky main character, this book is like twisted chaos. While she is completely off the wall, Julie is also relatable. I mean who hasn’t wanted to reach out and strangle someone at some point in time. The only difference is that unlike the rest of us, Julie leaves a body count wherever she goes!
For those that require trigger warnings, there are sensitive subjects in this book including murder, animal cruelty, violence, and stalking
Overall, this was a fun read that takes the reader into the psyche of a woman who is a whole lot of crazy. It is a funny, dark, horrifying, gasp worthy and morally questionable story that will leave you laughing and maybe even questioning if there might be a little bit of Julie in you.
Thank you so much to Tantor Audio for the audio version of this book. It was such a different and fun listen. Clare Corbett, the narrator, was phenomenal in bringing Julie and the other characters to life. After hearing her, I could not imagine anyone else as Julie! The overall production was tremendous and this presentation, such a treat!

Let me just say it: JULIE TUDOR IS 100% A PSYCHOPATH and I was completely hooked.
This book was a wild ride from start to finish. Julie is not someone I’ll be forgetting any time soon. She’s dark, twisted, delusional… and oddly fascinating in the most chilling way. I kept thinking, surely she won’t go there. But Julie? Oh, she goes there and then some!!
The timeline jumps were smooth and really well done, which can be tricky in thrillers, but here it added so much depth to the unraveling chaos. And the audiobook is Phenomenal. The narrator brought Julie to life in the creepiest, most compelling way. It honestly felt like she was telling me her story and I couldn’t stop listening, even when I wanted to run in the other direction.
If you’re into thrillers with unreliable narrators, dark humor, and characters that make your skin crawl, this one’s for you. But a word of warning… maybe don’t trust anyone named Julie for a while.

Dark, twisted, and oddly charming, Julie Tudor is a character I won't soon forget.
Julie insists she is not a psychopath and following her inner monologue is like riding a rollercoaster of denial, obsession, and disturbingly meticulous planning. This book balances wicked humor with an unsettling look at infatuation and the lengths some people will go for "love."
The narration style makes it alarmingly easy to root for her, even when she is doing something completely unhinged and that's half the fun.
Clare Corbett was the perfect narrator for Julie!
Thank you NetGalley and Tantor Audio for the chance to listen to this title in exchange for my opinion.

(No rating, as I didn't finish the book)
I went into this book expecting something humorous, even with the thriller element. But it turned out to be much darker and unsettling than I anticipated. I made it through 40% of the book before deciding to stop, not because it was poorly written, but because I wasn't the rigth audience for it.
The writing is incredibly effective. The first person narration of Julie by Clare Corbett is chilling and cringy, iun a way that made me feel uneasy, but also sad for her. It's that rare kind of voice that gets under your skin, which honestly made the experience stand out for me.
I won't be leaving a star rating since I didn't finish the book. But I wanted to share my thoughts in case others go in expecting something lighter. This could really work for readers who are drawn to psychological character studies, or dark, emotionally complex stories.
Just go in prepared. Jennifer Holdich knows what she is doing.

Julie Tudor Is Not a Psychopath has a fun premise and a snarky, offbeat voice that initially pulled me in. The idea of a darkly funny protagonist navigating social missteps and psychological mayhem is compelling, and there were definitely moments that made me smile or raise an eyebrow in a good way.
That said, the pacing felt uneven at times, and I struggled to stay fully engaged throughout. Julie’s voice is distinct and sharp, but it occasionally crossed the line into repetitive or overly quirky. The plot had potential but didn’t quite deliver the punch or emotional resonance I was hoping for.
Overall, it’s an interesting character-driven read that might appeal more to fans of dark comedy and unconventional heroines. While it didn’t totally hit the mark for me, I’d still be curious to see what Jennifer Holdich writes next.

Oh my goodness Julie Tudor is INDEED a psychopath. This novel followed an extremely unreliable narrator and definitely is for fans of stories about women falling apart.

I read a story very similar to this one just recently (without the age gap "romance") and so I really enjoyed this one. An unreliable narrator that is INDEED a psychopath. It's dark and funny and I can see how it won't be for everyone, but if you have a pretty open minded sense of humor you might enjoy it. The narration was top tier too!
