I really enjoyed this one! The Double Wife kept me hooked from the very beginning and I flew through it because I just had to know what was going on. I’ll admit I saw the plot twist coming a little past the halfway point, but honestly, that didn’t take anything away from the story. It was still really well written, with great pacing and enough suspense to keep me reading late at night. If you like twisty domestic thrillers, I highly recommend giving this one a read!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the free audiobook in exchange for my honest review. Tegan Ashton Cohan does a fantastic job narrating this story and drawing the reader in.
This is a twisty, psychological thriller about what happens when a man marries 2 different women and has children with both of them. That is enough of a description to not give away too much and you want to go into this one as blind as possible.
I found this to be a fast paced listen that drew me in with all of the secrets and lies. At some point in the story, I suspected each character of being the killer. I liked the ending, found the characters to be well developed and the overall plot to be very satisfying. Highly recommend!

The Double Wife by Gina LaManna is okay. I enjoyed the unraveling of the truth but found quite a few interactions outlandish (for example, the cops not doing their own research and relying on Elizabeth to handle things). I also wish we could have heard from Don, as I didn’t see his appeal. The ending was very anticlimactic, and since I struggle to suspend disbelief, I eventually stopped caring who was guilty or what was true. All of the characters were unsavory.
I did not care for Tegan Ashton Cohan’s narration. She made a lot of wet or dehydrated mouth sounds that were hard to ignore. Also, she had very little range for the number of characters she needed to voice, and the teens sounded especially whiny and annoying.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media for providing me with an ALC.

Elizabeth is living a good life; wealthy husband, healthy family, everything is going well for them.... until one day she finds a letter her husband wrote to his wife...... and the name on it isn't hers.
This book was well written and well narrated, it was a pretty quick read with decent twists (one predictable, one more surprising). I just didn't find either wife or any of the kids to be at all likable or sympathetic. If this happened to my family, I would be wrecked and none of the people involved in this seemed to care too much. I would have really liked for the twist to be a snippet of the story from the husband's perspective, maybe if he had been the likable (or hateable!) one it would have given it a little more depth. I would definitely try more from this author, the writing was good and the pacing was good, I just didn't connect with the characters.

I really enjoyed this book and am grateful for the ARC copy. The story was engaging and well paced, and it’s made me eager to explore more of this author’s work!

Audio Book Review -Tegan Ashton Cohan delivers a sensible and easy to listen to narration following the tale of 2 wives destined to be intertwined by their husband. Tegan chronicles their lives with careful and comfortable diction that makes it very easy to get absorbed into the storyline

🎧audiobook/📖 ebook dual read
𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆: On the eve of her 20th anniversary, Elizabeth’s husband Don doesn’t come home. Police arrive at her door suspecting an accident has taken his life. Elizabeth is not convinced, especially after she finds a pager and a letter to “My Wife” in Don’s bedside drawer. Problem is, the letter isn’t made out to her, it’s made out to Corrine. This novel is about two women, their husbands and the truth.

𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: I love immersion reads, especially when I get to say I enjoyed the audiobook more than the ebook. Narrator Tegan Ashton Cohan was great and perfectly executed the different characters voices and inflections. The writing was easy to follow and usually caused a compulsive need to keep reading. There were some lulls during the middle that seemed to drag on. I was pleasantly satisfied with the resolution and ending of this story- I did find the epilogue to be completely unnecessary and took from the superb ending of the final chapter. Add this quick popcorn thriller to your TBR! It’s great on audio and text, so your choice!

*Thank you @NetGalley, @Dreamscape_Media, and LaManna Books for sending this audiobook and ebook for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

I gave this one 3 stars—not because it was bad, but because I was able to figure out the twist before the big reveal, which made the ending feel a bit predictable. That said, I actually enjoyed the author’s writing style quite a bit. It flowed well and kept me engaged throughout. Even though the plot didn’t fully surprise me, I’d still be interested in picking up another book by this author to see what else they can do.

The Double Wife is a twisty domestic thriller with just enough suspicion and suspense to keep you flipping pages. I bought into the premise right away—it felt surprisingly believable, even as the mystery unfolded in some wild ways. Elizabeth’s confusion, her search for answers, and the other woman’s involvement had me hooked. I liked both women and the way the kids tied in, but I wished their characters had been explored with more depth. Still, the pacing was solid and the tension stayed high all the way through.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars — PG-13 for language and adult themes.

Thank you so much to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC of The Double Wife.
I really enjoyed this book. Everyone involved had way too many secrets. It was full of twists even up to the very end. You genuinely couldn't tell who was good and who was bad which made it even more fun.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a great job.

3.6 rounded up. A man goes missing and in her attempt to find him, Elizabeth discovers he may have another wife. Following clues and egged on by her best friend, Elizabeth and her grown children (18 & 20) work to find out the truth. When she comes face-to-face with her husband’s other wife, she must face reality. But where is he? Can the two women work together to find the man they both love?
I mostly enjoyed this novel but there were lots of nits that bothered me about their interactions and the ultimate resolution. Love the involvement of the girls yet the kids were not well developed as characters despite their pivotal roles. While the book had two narrators, their voices were too similar to be helpful. A throatier other wife might have made the audiobook easier to follow amid everyday distractions.
My thanks to the author, publisher, @DreamscapeMedia, and #NetGalley for early access to the audiobook of #TheDoubleWife for review purposes. The book and audiobook are now available.

This was pretty good. Fun fast read and I liked both head characters. I did see the end coming which was a bit of a let down.

Oh, half stars on Goodreads, where art thou? The Double Wife on audio was more like a 2.5 in that I stayed the course and didn't DNF, but I've rounded up because #goodreadsneedshalfsies.
Given the plot and characters, this was one of those books which would have benefited with multiple narrators. I struggled trying to stay invested and keep track with who was exactly speaking.
On a personal note to the publisher and/or marketing team, please stop doing this: "The Double Wife: a twisty, page-turning psychological thriller" in your marketing. It's gotten to the point that I not only don't trust your description, but I resent it. The Double Wife was slower than I liked, and spent too much time (the first 2 hours-ish) telling me the husband was missing. Oh, hey guys, did I mention the husband was missing?
Overall not the book for me.
P.S. The husband was missing.

On the evening of her 20th wedding anniversary,Elizabeth Bentley comes across an envelope in her husband Don’s drawer. Although it’s addressed to “my wife”, upon reading the letter, she realizes she is not the wife he is referring to. That same evening, her husband goes missing and the cops come to the house saying they believe Don was involved in an accident and is possibly dead. Now the detectives believe that she had something to do with this disappearance and it is up to Elizabeth to investigate on her own. After a search on social media for the other wife “Corinne”, as well as the discovery of a second home in Don’s assets, Elizabeth finds herself on a plane to California. After confronting Corinne, the two women find themselves working together to find out what happened to their husband. This was a twisty read with an absolutely crazy ending. I listened to the audio and it was really well done.

The narrator did a great job, but it could have been better with a second narrator because of the 2 pov’s. It was a quick listen, but wasn’t attention grabbing, not very twisty & was very predictable. It wasn’t for me, but others may enjoy it.

Elizabeth is planning to have dinner with her husband for their anniversary. He never shows up, but the police do. They tell her that her husband is dead but Elizabeth doesn’t believe it. She does some digging and uncovers many scandalous secrets.
There narrator did a fantastic job and kept me entertained. The story flowed well and it was easy to follow. It has some twist and turns and kept me engaged the whole time.

The book's blurb was very intriguing; however, there were too many unbelievable "things." There is a missing person! The first wife's concern level is way too calm and chill. Even after she finds out about the second wife, she goes to a hotel by the beach? The conversations she has with her children are strange too. She doesn't seem to take it seriously when she finds out her husband is missing and could even be dead. I also felt that the police reaction wasn't "policey" enough! Thank you, NetGalley.

This popcorn thriller starts with a bang - a husband disappears on the eve of his 20th wedding anniversary, and things quickly spiral when it’s revealed that… he had more than one wife. Add in a missing body, a suspicious accident, and a tangle of lies, and it sounds like a compulsive, twisty ride. Unfortunately, while the setup is compelling, the pacing and payoff left me wanting more.
The novel opens with Elizabeth preparing to celebrate two decades of marriage - until her husband fails to come home. A hidden love note hints at a secret second wife, and soon after, the police arrive to inform her that her husband is presumed dead. Desperate for answers, Elizabeth tracks down the other woman - Corinne - and together they try to unravel the truth. One wife lives in suburban comfort, the other barely scraping by. But neither is quite what they seem, and the truth turns out to be darker than either expected.
While the premise had all the makings of a gripping domestic suspense novel, the first half dragged. The audiobook spent nearly two hours circling the same “Where is my husband?” question with little momentum. The characters - especially the two wives - difficult to connect with, and the story gave little reason to care about the fate of a two-timing husband whose motivations are never explored in depth.
I kept hoping for a jaw-dropping twist or a clever turn of events to redeem the slow pace, but the ending felt flat and anticlimactic. Even the epilogue lacked the closure I was looking for.
This one had the bones of a binge-worthy thriller, but the execution was too pedestrian for me. If you love twisty domestic thrillers, you might enjoy the premise - but temper expectations when it comes to pacing and payoff.

This story left me in some suspense. I was invested to find out what happened to the husband.
Without giving it away the ending caught me off guard.
The narrator sometimes sounded mechanical.

1st time reading a book by Gia and it didn't disappoint. The twists and turns kept you wondering what was the truth. Enjoyed the double life and mystery.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this arc.
