Mystery and twists grabbed me right away. The idea was really interesting, and I wanted to see how everything would unfold. As the surprises kept coming, I had to accept some moments that felt hard to believe. If you’re okay with just going along for the ride, this might be a great fit.
The pacing kept me hooked without feeling rushed or dragging, and the way the plot pieces connected felt natural enough to follow. Some twists were definitely wild, but that added to the excitement rather than pulling me out of the story.
I’m usually more into stories that feel realistic, so that part was tricky for me, but the energy and suspense kept me wanting to know more. This book asked me to trust its world and enjoy the unexpected, which I did.

I should have known.....books that have the tag "A Twisty, page-turning psychological thriller" always are so B rated-make that C rated. This is like a made for TV movie--but not even a good channel, maybe like made for the CW channel. The writing was so elementary, and I say that as a person who is no where close to nit picky when it comes to prose. Repeated phrases and 5th grade level text.
Two women find out their husband is missing and come to find out its the same man! One has lived a life of privalege and the other is barely scraping by.Once the truth comes out it is even more sinister/twisted than you can imagine.
The premise of this book was really good, however the execution was very pedestrian. The ending I was really hoping for a big twist or something shocking, but it was very anti climatic.
This must be the Summer of dumb women,...I have read so many books this summer where women allow men to walk all over them. I mean your husband claims to be on "busines" 70% of the time...and never picks up his phone on the weekends? Dumb Dumb Dumb.....
Don't be like these women, dont waste your time on this book.
Thank you net galley for allowing me to review this advanced copy of The Double Wife. Iwas no paid for my honest original review.

From the beginning I was hooked! Throughout the book I didn’t know who I wanted to blame or be mad at I swear I was torn going back and forth. The way this audio kept me engaged was awesome! In the end you can say I was shook because it was not what I was expecting!

This one had me pulled in and wondering right away. Great domestic thriller that is a bit of a slow burn but totally worth it. A lot of characters to keep up with but the ending was a complete surprise to me. Not what I was expecting which made me like it even more. Great narration and creative ending by the author.

Meh. I was hoping for more. I thought there would be a more engaging story line, but the “other wife” seemed drab, annoying and so, so depressing. She was all “woe is me” - um, lady, you know you’re the side piece. We don’t feel sorry for you. Her daughter was annoying too. This one fell very short for me. However, I did read it fast - I kept reading it bc I hoped there would be more!

A good even-paced popcorn thriller with an enticing story. This one gets right to the point and the mystery starts unraveling almost immediately. With a suspicious cast of characters including an eccentric high-powered husband and a former con-woman “other wife,” you never know who to trust. Overall an enjoyable popcorn thriller. Not too deep, just entertaining with some good twists. Although I would have loved some more explanation from the husband’s point of view, I really felt this was missing.
Also although the narration was good, I do wish there would have been 2 narrator for this dual POV story.

The Double Wife hooks you right away! A twisty web of mystery, deceit, and just the right amount of messiness from the characters.
Easy to follow, intriguing and quickly paced.
Audio narrated by Tegan Ashton Cohan is easy to listen to and understand.
Highly recommend!

Full of twists and drama. A missing husband but his wife finds evidence that he's living a double life. Some of the things seemed a little predictable but the final twist I definitely didn't see coming. Very enjoyable thriller.

I loved this book! A vanishing husband, a rival wife, and the question of who is telling the truth…these elements create an atmospheric mystery that grips early. This book was intriguing and captivating, a must read this summer!

Elizabeth is getting ready to celebrate her anniversary with her husband of 20 years, but he never shows. To make matters worse, she finds a love note in her husband’s dresser to his wife- a wife that isn’t Elizabeth. Then to put the cherry on top, her husband is presumed dead in a shady accident by the police who show up on her doorstep the next morning. Desperate for answers for her and her two children, Elizabeth does everything in her power to find the other wife to see if she had anything to do with it.
The other wife, Corinne, doesn’t have such a charming life as Elizabeth’s. She and her daughter have had to struggle with limited means and barely scrape by. But Corinne isn’t all that she seems and has a dark past. Are she and her daughter involved in the disappearance or presumed murder of their father and husband? Or is it all a ruse to cover for Elizabeth?
I had a hard time getting into this story. Neither wife seemed particularly likable and sympathy for a two timing husband is in short supply. The date of the husband seems unearned and none of the story is ever told from his perspective, and no real light is ever shed on why he did what he did. Finally, the epilogue provides little closure or satisfaction.
All that being said, the narrator was excellent and the pacing of the story worked well.

The Double Wife grabs your attention early with a strong premise and keeps the suspense simmering as small twists and revelations unfold. Elizabeth Bentley’s discovery of a mysterious pager and a note addressed to another woman kicks off a layered mystery full of secrets and deception. The pacing is solid throughout, with just enough intrigue in each chapter to keep you engaged. Some plot elements felt predictable, but there were still a few twists that landed and kept the tension alive. Discovering how each wife and each child reacted to their father's betrayal was intriguing.
While the investigation unfolds in a way that occasionally felt off (particularly the police response), it remains believable enough given the circumstances. Unfortunately, the final scene didn’t feel necessary and undercut the story’s natural resolution. The ending ultimately knocked the rating down a bit; this could have been a 4-star read without the addition.
This was my first book by Gina LaManna, and I’d definitely be interested in reading more from her in the future.
The narration was just okay, I won’t be seeking out this narrator for future audiobooks.

What would you do if police showed up on your door one night and told you that your husband is missing/presumed dead, when you thought he had just went to work? What if you fell down a rabbit hole and found out he was hiding a whole family behind your back?
You can't help but to feel bad for Elizabeth throughout the book - but as I went on, I found myself feeling really sorry for Corinne too. The two have to team up to find out what happened to their husband. But could one of them be lying? Is one hiding him? Did one KILL him?
I do have to say, I think the end got a tiny bit muddled, but it still made sense and I still enjoyed the book. I just wish it had been a little cleaner but that is just my personal preference.
The narration on this was fantastic. I really enjoyed her and how she brought both women to life.
Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Gina LeManna for allowing me to listen and review! Looking forward to more by this author for sure!

It would be completely awful to find out on your wedding anniversary (well, a day early) that your husband may be a two timing cheating scumbag and then have him vanish, presumed dead in the lake according to the police, so you can't even confront him about it. So frustrating! And then add in the twist that the "other" wife knew about Elizabeth and both wives have secrets but still want to find out what happened to their husband (who both are sure is not dead) and you have a crazy story that went really fast and I enjoyed quite a bit. I liked that not only do you get the viewpoints of Elizabeth and Corinne but also how their kids are affected by Don's double family. As impressed as I was that Don/Arthur was able to keep this going for 18 years, I really hoped that he would get what he deserved for being a duplicitous dude to his wives and children. It does get wild, and slightly unbelievable but I could go for it, what with Corinne's special skills (learned from her father) and the lengths both women will go to for their kids.
This was a fun thriller to listen to and the narrator, Tegan Ashton Cohan, did a great job in bringing both Corinne and Elizabeth to life while still making them distinct characters on the search for their husband while trying to protect their kids from his two timing cheating. Great twists, crazy deeds, and a wild ending!

The Double Wife, written by Gina LaManna and narrated by Tegan Ashton Cohan, is a twisty domestic suspense novel I enjoyed listening to. Elizabeth and Corinne are two wives linked by one husband. He is never directly on the page, but the two teenage daughters and one twenty-year-old son are—and definitely add to the drama between the two women. I did not predict the ending, nor the twist leading up to it. Cohan is a new narrator to me and I hope to listen to her again in the future- she was fantastic! A fun summer read- definitely recommend!!!

This was a fun thriller with interesting characters and red herrings. It was a lot about what you would do if someone you loved betrayed you in the worst way. And it was even more fascinating as a psychological picture because we got to see how two different women betrayed by the same man responded. And how this trauma extended through the generations. It was well paced and fun to read. Also the narrator was quite good and I'd listen to more of her audiobooks!

The narrators aren’t too bad and did not deter me from listening!
The storyline kept me engaged and I flew thru this audiobook in about two days because it was that good and somewhat addictive and adventurous to say the least!
I wasn’t expecting some twists and turns and definitely not the ending which left me with my mouth wide open! Definitely will recommend!

This was a fun listen. It was an easy story to follow and engaging enough that I wanted to see where it went. I figured out one of the twists earlier on, but it was still enjoyable.

Audio from Netgalley & Earc from author.
I was invested with my mind going to all crazy options of how it would go. I ended up figuring out who did it but not the final twist.
Gina is a favorite author of mine for good reason!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this. It grabbed my attention fairly quick. I typically love psychological thrillers so I was excited for this book. This book had a dual POV and was about a man with a double life. This wasn’t quite a 5 star for me just because it seemed to drag on just a little. Other than that it was a good book and I enjoyed the twist ending.

When Elizabeth Benton's husband goes missing, she starts looking into his disappearance, but what she uncovers is something incredibly bizarre. The man that she's been married to for 20 years has another wife and family.
Together, these women dig into their husband's sordid past to uncover the truth: Who is Don Benton, and where is he?
I enjoyed the overall story. I did find the narrator a little annoying, but that is not the author's fault. The ending was a bit predictable, but overall the story kept my interest. It was a solid 3 star read.
Fans of One of Us is Dead and The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose will really enjoy this book.
