I adore this series and I absolutely adore Laurel and Huck. But I have to admit this book was sweet for them as a couple but the Abigail arc is growing a bit tired for me. I love the brilliant minds working against each other of Laurel and Abigail but I also want Abigail to have her comeuppance and that keeps getting eluded which is now drawing it out and at the same time the mystery of this particular book wrapped up at warp speed.
I also felt this time there were more questions left unanswered. With the ‘psychic’ and what they said about Huck. I like all the regular side characters all Rebecca Zanetti has a knack for writing characters that get you riled up and don’t like them like Abigail and Rachel. I am not sure how this series will end or where it is going to go, but if the Arc of Abigail doesn't resolve or look like it is going in that direction I don't know if my love of this series will be as gung ho as before. Though that does not mean I don't adore the author as I totally do, I just like this one dragged a bit without more resolution that I wanted for this series.

4.5 Stars ⭐️
I truly didn't think that keeping the character of evil psychotic half-sister Abigail alive and still part of the story could work after 5 books....but somehow, it does. Now, does that mean I like it? Nope. Not particularly. But, in this storyline, it worked.
Book 5 has us coming off of the awful news of Laurel and Huck losing their baby and Abigail murdering their father Zeke. It seems like she is finally going to be punished (I mean, how many crimes can this woman commit without any consequences??) and her trial is coming up, when there is an assassination attempt on the courthouse steps. And that is just the beginning.
As usual, things are fast and furious with a sniper on the loose and no one is really sure who the target is. There is so much going on that FMC FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow and MMC Washington Fish and Wildlife captain Huck Rivers combine their respective agencies to team up to work on their caseload. Add in the Seattle FBI office and FBI Agent Wayne Nors and there are law enforcement officers everywhere. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop the amount of people who somehow end up dying.
Granted, I truly cannot stand Abigail and I think Laurel could be much stronger when it comes to keeping her at arm's length, but in this book she was not as awful as she has been in the past. Don't get me wrong, she is still bats**t crazy.....she just seemed to tone down the crazy a small bit.
I enjoyed the latest addition to this series and am looking forward to whatever is coming up next. I mean, eventually something has to stop Abigail, right?
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. This book will be out for publication on December 16, 2025.

You Can Scream by Rebecca Zanetti advertises a chilling thriller—FBI profiling, twisted family ties, a sociopathic sister, and a web of conspiracy theories set against the icy Cascade Mountains. The striking cover immediately caught my eye, setting high expectations for a dark, layered suspense novel.
But as I dove in, the story quickly lost focus. The plot veered in too many directions with everything competing for attention. Instead of building tension, the narrative felt disjointed, making it hard to stay invested.
The characters also didn’t pull me in. Abigail’s push to connect with Lauren through other people felt forced and strange. The constant back-and-forth between FBI offices about their relationship was repetitive. Rather than adding tension, it started to feel like filler.
Despite its promising setup and eye-catching cover, You Can Scream struggled to deliver me with a cohesive, engaging thriller. The tropes are all there, but the execution fell short.
Thank you Kensington Publishing for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

So I didn’t realize this was the 4th or 5th book of a series when I started it. It just sounded so good I wanted to read it. Although I am sure I’m missing a lot of back ground, I absolutely loved this book. I’ll be going back and reading the others now. The characters were amazing and that twist was so good. I didn’t see it coming. I would absolutely recommend this book!

Always on the edge of your seat, looking over your shoulder suspense with quirky humor and steamy romance.
Laurel, Huck and her half-sister, Abigail are back along with all of their friends and associates in another fast-paced book racing to find out who is attempting to kill Abigail or is it Laurel?
Another top-notch Laurel Snow thriller!

this was a strong fifth entry in the Laurel Snow Thriller series, it had that thriller element that I was looking for and enjoyed getting into this world again. The characters continued to feel like they were supposed to be in this world and enjoyed the overall concept of the story. Rebecca Zanetti was able to weave a great tale in the genre and was glad I got into this world, and left me wanting to read more in this world and from Rebecca Zanetti.

It's an amazing, intense book! It's just a shame I didn't notice there'd be so much romance in it or that it was even part of a series.
As I understand this book was just not for me, I will give it some deserved 4 stars, but won't be developing my review.

Rebecca Zanetti has delivered another awesome installment in the Laurel Snow series. The book takes the reader on a truly wild ride! I found this to be Laurel's most bizarre case and that is saying quite a lot! It starts with three seemigly unrelated events and ends in an epic showdown. As much as I love the characters of Laurel and Huck, I have to say that Laurel's sister Abigail is a truly fun villain that you can't help but adore on some bizarre level. I almost want her to be redeemable even though that's probably not possible. I loved catching up with all of the characters and can't wait until Laurel's next adventure. Not certain that this installment can be topped!

This book was really good. It was romantic, and it had a lot of suspense to it. I love reading the books in this series, each one gets better. I look forward to reading the next book by Rebecca Zanetti. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.

This series has not let me down yet. The twists and turns, the wondering how Abigail is involved because it seems like she’s always got her fingers in something (or does she?), the worries and the danger. All of this is continuing to remain fresh and new every time I dive into the world of Laurel and Huck. This one is no exception.
We have a few different mysteries now and the question of how they do or don’t fit a pattern. They seem like they should be connected, but how? Maybe they’re really not. And maybe a self-proclaimed psychic really is just that? The jury is still out on that bit because we got another thread to pull around how “the wind” speaks to him. But it’s still intriguing and I don’t hate seeing him appear at both the right and the not so right times.
I think we’re closer to finally figuring out how to corner the one who keeps slithering away from any consequence or blame, too. Sure, she’s sometimes aligned with someone who is just as selfish and almost as narcissistic as she is, but that person is also disposable to her if need be. The only one who doesn’t seem to be is Laurel. Why? I guess we get to think on that more and wonder how something sorta makes sense but doesn’t while we wait to find out what trouble comes next.

You Can Scream
The Laurel Snow series continues with Huck, Laurel, Wayne, Kate, and friends directly in opposition to forces both known and unknown.
——
Laurel’s biggest threat is still Abigail, her psychopathic, malignant narcissist sister. In You Can Scream Abigail has only escalated her mission of control. She’ll stop at nothing to get the better of Laurel, even for reasons which seem unclear to herself. Abigail wants a relationship built on ruling over Laurel, like a kind of genuflection to her as deity, and she is willing to let anyone become cannon fodder in this pursuit.
The secondary romance between Huck and Laurel grows even stronger, post the traumatic events of You Can Kill, the previous book in the series. There’s some truly heartfelt scenes where Huck is able to verbalize to Laurel how deep his love for her runs and she is able to grasp it far better now. She’s also able to express her feelings in a way both of them can hear and understand. Huck doesn’t try to change her, and his respect for the quirks of a neurodivergent love are refreshing.
Another exciting installment in the series and I’m looking forward to book #6

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!
I love a good thriller, but when romance comes into the mix I tend to get a little bored. This was not the case with You Can Scream.
Laurel and Huck had so many sweet moments that I feel I may be turning into a romance reader with how I devoured this!
The suspense mixed with the romance had me turning pages quicker than I anticipated, and I ended up finishing this in one sitting!
The end of each chapter had me reeling for the next and I’m looking forward for more to come!!
This is a strong 4/5 for me!

Laurel is back, and the stakes are higher than ever. With Abigail’s murder trial approaching, threats are closing in—on Abigail, and possibly on Laurel herself. Add in her own investigations, and things get intense fast. I couldn’t put this book down! Packed with action, suspense, and a love story that gives Laurel her reason. This is a gripping read from start to finish.

This series is fast becoming my favorite of Rebeccas. The story arc going thru the series keeps getting better. Huck and Laurel's realationship is developing so well. The don't let the doubts linger and they know each others strength.
The main mystery in the book wasn't as interesting as the others in the series.

Honestly I did enjoy this book, however- I feel certain parts could have been a bit less lengthy in detail. The concept of this book was great, and I enjoyed the characters.
I liked how Laurel had to learn to trust her half sister just this one time to figure everything out.
I was not ready for that twist, it took me by surprise! Which is a good thing because with all of the thriller books I read it is hard to shock me, but boy did this book deliver on that!

Fantastic book!
The book starts with the shooting of Abigail, Laurel's crazy sister. She happened to be wearing a protective vest so she only had minor wounds. Now it's pointed out that Laurel was standing close to Abigail and she might have been the actual target. As the team investigates Walter's brother's disappearance and a lab where questionable experiments are being conducted, another person standing close to Laurel is shot. Huck becomes very protective about Laurel's safety - with good reason. Between Abigail and others having reason to go after Laurel, Huck and her team have their hands full. This is one of my favorite series by Rebecca Zanetti. I'm really looking forward to the next book. I received an early copy from Netgalley to read and review. I'm leaving my honest review.

Wow! Another great Laurel Snow book. I love her and Huck. And Abigail is such a crazy psycho. Love these stories

This is a Crime Thriller/Mystery, and this is the 5th book in the Laurel Snow series. I have read the first four books in this series before picking up this book. I love this series, and I could not wait to read this book. I love the characters in this book. I love all the drama and action in this book. This book keeps me on the edge of my seat, and it is so fast paced. I loved reading this book. I am so over Abigail though. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

I am loving the Laurel Snow books and while I am not a huge fan of thrillers, a new release in this series is one I cannot ignore. It seems the body count is mounting and Agent Snow is bound and determined to solve all of them as they become aware they may be connected. So whodunit? This is one that will leave you on the edge of your seat right up to the end.
Another five star read from one of my favorite authors.

Ms. Zanetti has done it again. The gang's all back with some new and interesting characters. The book picks up where the former ended. Laurel and Huck are back from vacation and the action begins immediately. Abigail is on trial for killing Zeke. People with ties to the team or their loved ones are dying and most of them have lesions on their brain. There's also a sniper targeting Laurel and Abigail.
This book explores family dynamics, identifying who your one is (the person you will kill or die for), and when ego and greed overpower good. This is a one sitting read, you will not want to put the book down. It can be ready as a standalone.
