A good story for middle grade readers; incorporating believable characters who are just trying to make a name and place for themselves. Follow Kamari Brown as he tries to make his dream of becoming an artist in the music world come true; all while trying to escape the school bully and navigating family life with his brother and hard-working mother. Will success go to his head? Can he make new friends without losing his current friends? Can he become rich and famous without compromising who he is? The author's character Kamari Brown combines humor and a do-whatever-it-takes attitude to make it big in music while still getting his homework done on time!

Kamari Brown, 13, uses get-rich schemes to try to aid his impoverished family, but they cause him more problems than they do financial gain. That is, until a best-selling rapper's song is mingled with one of his tracks, making him the most desirable person in the music industry.

Imagine tryna break into the music industry, and just when your big moment comes, a top exec hears your song… but the problem is, it ain’t really your song…
This book was a cool ride about owning up to your mistakes, chasing your dreams, and learning some tough lessons along the way. I honestly could see this as a Disney Channel Original Movie.
