4.5 ⭐️ | Imagine being at a Labor Day neighborhood party, enjoying your friends - only for your car to explode k!lling your neighbor but you suspect it was meant for you. The fact that this occurred just minutes into the story was enough to draw me in!

Considering On a Quiet Street by this author made it into my top 5 of 2024, I immediately knew I wanted to read this one and Seraphina did not disappoint. This author has a way of teasing you just enough, and just when you think it’s over she drops another bomb (pun intended). This story brought domestic drama, danger, suspense, mystery and all elements to a good thriller!

Andi, Sasha & Regan weaved through their challenges the best they could. I do not feel they always made the best decisions, but who knows how someone will react if ever faced with something so challenging. All of these ladies were put in impossible situations, and it made me root for them the entire time! Hearing the story from all 3 of their POVs was an added bonus! Overall a solid & enjoyable ready that I would definitely recommend! Thank you Harlequin Trade Publishing, THRILLER BOOK LOVERS: The Pulse and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

A fast-paced psychological thriller, “Too Close to Home” kept me on the edge of my seat, I couldn’t put it down. Literally read it in one day!

Suspense
Thriller
Page-Turner
Complex Mystery
Multi POV

Trigger warnings: Car bombing and shootings

Clover Lake, an elite upper scale neighborhood is not as safe as they once thought. A car bomb, a dead husband, questionable actions of teenage kids and the accidental death of Andi’s ex-husband’s new wife, Tia, leaves the residents of Clover Lake reeling. Regan, Sasha and Andi are best friends and along with their kids and husbands are there to support each other through the shocking and terrifying incidents happening in their home town. Regan swears she has seen her “ dead husband” while Andi and Sasha are both hiding secrets! It’s a twisty web of how their lives can spiral when someone wants revenge!

Suspense at its best! Will take your breath away! Highly recommend if you love a psychological thriller. 4/5 Stars

This book gave me whiplash. The twists and turns, the lies, the horrible deeds, all come together for one jaw dropping ending. This is a fast paced, tear through the pages at warp speeds. Someone breathing down my neck, I just don't know who.

Clover Lake is a small community where everyone knows everyone. They know all your business, or they think they do. It is charming, it is cute, and money flows through. Andi, Sasha, and Regan are close. They look out for one another, watch each other's children, and they do not listen to the town gossip. When a car explodes with a woman inside it, the town is in an uproar. That is just the beginning. From that moment on I was at a dead run. Trying to uncover what is going on in this small lakeside town.

The one thing I regret not doing is keeping track of the characters. There are a ton, and they all are part of this intricate web. I also spent time yelling at the characters, which is one of my favorite activates. Thank you to Seraphina Nova Glass and Thrill Book Lovers The Pulse for my gifted copy.

I'm always quick to pick up Glass's novels and I love how different they always are. Too Close To Home totally surprised me and was definitely different (but still so good!) from her other novels.

All is not as it seems in the idyllic community of Clover Hills and secrets abound. The novel centers around three friends -- Regan, Andi, and Sasha -- and I appreciated that we heard the story from each of their viewpoints. They all had their own drama going on and Glass pulled it all together perfectly, even when it seemed like some pieces were from a different puzzle.

Too Close To Home brings mama drama, explosions, missing persons, infidelity, homicide, shady teenagers, and so much more to the reader. Fast-paced, high stakes, and enough thrills to keep you guessing and keep you highly entertained. I couldn't flip the pages fast enough. Glass is always a fan favorite at The Pulse and everyone has been raving about Too Close To Home! It releases April 14, 2026 so make sure to put it on your 2026 TBR!

Glass delivers the exact recipe for what I look for and like in a book like this.
Answers to all the questions that swirl in my mind as I read
Lots of suspense and a list of suspects
Winnowing out the chaff from the rest of the story
Plus bonus twists that I had not anticipated!!
This is a really good read!

I love this author and this book was great! The multiple POV's between the main characters (Regan, Sasha, and Andi) and so good. I enjoyed how it kept switching between them. I would want it it to keep going right when it switched! Each character was so good! And then when it all came together!!! A great book!

It’s been way too long since a thriller truly gripped me—and this one absolutely delivered.
I went in expecting a typical domestic suspense, but it turned out to be so much more. Total page-turner!

The story unfolds through three women’s perspectives—each navigating her own struggles, whether it’s marriage, motherhood, or raising kids.
At first, I couldn’t quite see how their lives connected, but as the plot unraveled (starting with a literal explosion and the wrong person dead), the pieces slowly fell into place. I found myself theorizing nonstop, trying to guess how it all fit together.

I genuinely enjoyed every POV. Each chapter dropped new clues, and when the big reveal hit, it was wrapped up so satisfyingly—like a bow on a very twisty gift.
That said, the epilogue leaves things a little open-ended. The crime gets exposed, sure, but the emotional fallout for these women lingers. They’re left with something deeper, and you’ll know exactly what I mean once you read it.

Fast-paced, layered, and full of surprises—I loved the writing, the characters, and the way everything came together. I’ll definitely be watching out for whatever Seraphina Nova Glass writes next!

⚠️ 𝐓𝐖: gun violence, psychological distress, grief

I enjoyed this book! The short, fast paced chapters made it a book that I could fly through. I even stayed up way past my bedtime because I could not put this book down. At some points in the story you had to stretch your imagination a little bit, but overall a great read from Seraphina Nova Glass.

Thank you to Thriller Book Lovers: The Pulse, the author, and Park Row books for sending me this ARC through Netgalley.

Told from the POV of three different women, this story weaves an intricate web of mystery. Each of these women became friends while living in the idyllic community of Cloverhill Lakes. But what none of these women realise, is that they all have a much deeper connection. Their lives are all entwined in ways they aren't even aware of.

This was a great read. For a while, it felt like all the things happening weren't connected at all, but the author did a great job of connecting everything by the end and I never would have figured out what was going on. It had me not trusting anyone at all, and I just couldn't put it down once I started. A must read.

Too Close to Home was a fast-paced, intense popcorn thriller with twists, turns, reveals, and one explosive ending!!

Told from three POVs, at first I didn’t see how the storylines connected but they came together so well in a propulsive, action-packed build-up to the ending. And that epilogue! I tore through the pages during several intense scenes!!

Thriller lovers, be sure to check this one out when it pubs next year!

💭: If you haven’t seen the #buzz for this book, where have you been? I was hooked from the start! It is fast paced from beginning to the end. There are twists after twists and shocking revelations that will cause your jaw to hit the floor. This may be her best novel yet! It is right up there with On a Quiet Street. I will always pick up this author’s books because she just has this way of telling a story that makes you want to keep flipping pages.

Huge thanks to @seraphinanovaglass @parkrowbooks @htpbooks @htp_hive and @thrillerbookloversthepulse for the ARC and early read.

Nothing in Cloverhill Lakes is quite what it seems.

This elite lakefront community looks picture perfect. Think PTA moms, lake views, endless brunches, and backyard bonfires. But all that glossy veneer cracks wide open when Regan Hoffman’s car explodes at the annual neighborhood party.

As Regan tries to piece together who’s targeting her, she’s rocked by another impossible twist: she sees her dead husband alive!!

Add in a missing neighbor, buried secrets, and rising danger, and this neighborhood thriller had hooked.

If you were a fan of Desperate Housewives and love a thriller where the cul-de-sac isn’t quite as sweet as it looks, this one belongs on your list.

📚 E-ARC BOOK REVIEW 📚

Too Close To Home By Seraphina Nova Glass
Publication Date: April 14, 2026
Publisher: Harlequin Trade Publishing | Park Row

📚MY RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.25⭐)
(Rounded Down to 4⭐)

A big thank you to Thriller Book Lovers The Pulse, Harlequin Trade Publishing, Park Row, and NetGalley for the #gifted e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

📚MY REVIEW:

Too Close To Home is the upcoming domestic thriller from one of my favorites, Seraphina Nova Glass, and what a wild ride this was! This diabolically twisty read was fast-paced and the suspense felt practically electric as the storylines twisted and turned.

This story is told in multiple POVs through alternating chapters: Andi, Sasha, and Regan -- all of whom became close friends through their kids and their shared activities in the elite lakefront community of Cloverhill Lakes, a safe place to live. But everything changes when Regan’s car explodes at the annual Labor Day party. The wrong person is killed, but it was meant for her. As the carefully crafted walls of her community begin to crumble, Regan tries to keep it together—something made infinitely harder when she sees her dead husband…alive. And then a Cloverhill Lakes resident goes missing and dark secrets begin to surface from underneath the idyllic veneer of their beautiful community. The truth threatens to destroy them all as Regan finds herself in a fight for her life.

This book was a really fast read, with tension that was simultaneously slow-burning and quick-moving. This was one of those books where you were always afraid one character might get caught, and at the same time, worried that the mastermind of this community's chaos might not. The way the story was told through the individual secrets and histories of each of the three main characters was absolutely gripping.

Seraphina Nova Glass is a favorite author for all of us over at The Pulse! And while I'll be honest and say I liked her last book, Nothing Ever Happens Here, a little more than this one, Too Close To Home was an absolute stunner of a domestic thriller and it had my heart pounding as all the pieces of the puzzle came together in the end. If you're a fan of domestic thrillers in which the residents of a seemingly perfect little wealthy community are hiding some pretty dark secrets, you will love Too Close To Home. Coming in April of 2026!

ARC Review: TOO CLOSE TO HOME by Seraphina Nova Glass

Shoutout to Thriller Book Lovers The Pulse for sliding this ARC my way. They’re the reason Seraphina Nova Glass landed on my radar, and I’ve been hooked ever since. She always delivers, but she dialed it way up with this one.

That lakefront life? Sounds like paradise, right? Moms trading gossip on the patio, maybe sneaking in a few pages of a good book, wine in hand, kids running wild. Then Labor Day rolls around, and it’s chaos. Secrets spill, betrayals pop up, and suddenly the dream neighborhood isn’t so perfect.

I went in blind, seduced by the gorgeous cover and my trust in Seraphina. She totally delivered. The quick chapters and different points of view had me hooked. I finished the last page feeling like I’d just devoured a bowl of my favorite ice cream.

“Too Close To Home” is quick, twisty, and the right amount of messy. This is a juicy suburban suspense novel I highly recommend.

Thank you to the author and HTP Books/Park Row for the #giftedARC provided via #NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Absolutely. Automatically. 10 stars. What. The. Heck. I’ve always said that Seraphina’s books need to be movies RIGHT * NOW! The way she she crafts together a story is so impressive. Throws you for a loop the whole book. Just tosses you around like a rag doll with all these twists. Everything comes together in the most shocking way. Perfection!

Clover lake is a coveted lakefront community. Every one knows everyone! The moms and kids are close and their summers are filled with charming activities.

There is always some party or event to participate in and the annual Labor Day party is one that brings them together again. While everyone is relaxing a car explodes. Regan has been cheating on her husband, and when she finds out it is her car, she things he might have been suspicious. There was SOMEONE in her car, and it was NOT her.

To add to the tension a resident turns up missing. Everyone is hiding something and Regan is trying to stay alive while hiding her own secrets.

A pulsating thriller that will keep you reading way past your bed time. Glass is a favorite with Thriller Book Lovers THE PULSE and mine. I highly recommend all her books.

OMG, this book, you guys, OMG! Ok, I love Seraphina Nova Glass. I loved her other books that I have read. I was absolutely crazy in love with her book Vacancy in Room 10. But that was quite some time ago. And now there is this one, and I feel like saying that it is equally good. It is different, but it has the same vibe. Character-driven. Small town. Creepy locations. Found family (that may look different in her books than it usually does in other books). Twists that you kind of, sort of see coming, but then they turn into something else, and somehow end up even more satisfying. The pacing – have you ever stopped and thought about how some books have a pacing thing that keeps you glued to the pages? Yeah, same, I rarely think of that, but then there are books like this one that make me stop and think about it. Once the book picks up speed, it goes at a really fast, breakneck speed until the very end.
Also, books like this make me feel grateful for being a part of this bookish community; it makes me feel grateful to be a part of #thepulse and be able to read it way ahead of most. This book is one of those gems you want to scream from the rooftops about once you finish reading it.
The book’s pub date is set to April next year (yep, a super long wait, I know!), but if you too happened to love The Vacancy book, I strongly believe you will love this one also. It will definitely be worth the wait.

I literally devour anything she writes!
