This was okay. Ultimately, I just don’t think it was for me, as it was more character centric than plot centric. It didn’t feel like a lot was happening, despite quite a lot actually happening. The dialogue felt a little stilted to me (little to no contractions were used, which is a personal reading dislike).
I do think it did a good job of making the reader feel like they were inside the mind of someone with undiagnosed ADHD. Overall, it was a quick and decently interesting read.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Mind Mayhem & Mood Swings—And I Loved Every Page!

Just Clear Your Mind is like stepping into the chaos-fueled control room of a brain that refuses to shut up—and somehow, it’s raw, hilarious, and exactly the kind of beautiful mess I couldn’t put down! 💥🌀

Just Clear Your Mind is one of those rare books that manages to be both deeply moving and laugh-out-loud funny. Joe’s story pulled me in immediately—his chaotic inner world, his struggle to navigate everyday life with undiagnosed ADHD, and his raw honesty felt incredibly real. What stood out most for me was the balance of humor and heartbreak—it didn’t try to fix everything, and that made it all the more powerful. I found myself nodding along, tearing up, and even laughing in unexpected moments. A great read for anyone who’s ever felt like their brain has a mind of its own.

The title says it all. It was easy to guess what the book would be about just by looking at the cover. But what surprised me was that it didn’t feel familiar. The author managed to take a common theme—clearing your mind—and deliver it in a way that felt refreshingly different.

Reading Joe’s messy, chaotic thoughts felt incredibly real. I could feel his mental noise, his difficulty focusing, his loneliness, and his quiet longing to be loved. The author did a great job showing how overwhelming yet deeply human his mind was. The messages about slowing down, tuning in, and finding peace came through clearly—and they stuck with me.

I really enjoyed the writing style. It’s simple, readable, and sprinkled with just the right amount of humor and literary touches. I found myself reading it spontaneously, almost in one sitting. While I saw the plot twist coming, it still surprised me. Maybe because it didn’t happen exactly when I expected it to.

That said, the ending left me a little disappointed. I wanted more closure for Joe, both in his life and with the voices in his head. It felt rushed, like something was missing. I also found the way his inner thoughts were formatted a bit confusing at times, which pulled me out of the story.

Still, this is a meaningful, reflective short read. I’d recommend it to anyone who feels mentally overwhelmed and just wants something honest and relatable.

This is a lot like The Martian by Andy Weir, except the moon and all of the obstacles are inside your head. It is a deep expose into the neurodivergent mind and a refreshing position that is not to cure, but rather, to allow the reader to walk through life alongside, day by day. As a fellow noisy minded person, this book makes me feel seen. It is so relatable.

I adored this reflective piece. The story dives into the main characters Joe’s symptoms of ADHD and how he manoeuvres daily life and a relationship. This book had great ADHD and trans representation which I love to see. I flew through this book in one sitting and just enjoyed reading Joe’s adventures. I recommend, I want to read more of this author now:)

My brain? Chaos. This book? RELATABLE.

Okay, this book had me feeling seen in the most hilarious, heartbreaking way. 😂 Joe’s mind is basically a mental mosh pit, and reading his story felt like eavesdropping on the inner monologue I never admit out loud. It’s messy, honest, weirdly comforting, and SO needed. If your thoughts go 100 mph and you’ve ever felt like you’re the only one who can’t “just focus,” Just Clear Your Mind will make you feel less alone—and maybe even proud of your beautiful, buzzy brain. 🧠💥💬
