This is a Christian board book for girls ages 4-8 years old. It shows many different mothers and daughters doing activities together. The characters have many different ethnic backgrounds, and one girl was disabled. The illustrations of the people were in a fairly realistic style, while the surroundings were often fanciful and stylized. I liked that the message was to look to God when we have doubts about our value. "You're made in His image; He knit you together. Your worth never wavers--not now, and not ever. When you wonder your value or question your worth, Know you're beloved by the God who formed Earth."

Overall, I'd recommend this book. However, I would have liked it even more if it'd explained that we live in a fallen world--as in, the girl with the disability has the disability as a part of living in a broken world, not because God wanted to make her uniquely beautiful and that's how He did it.

(Thank you to NetGalley and to B&H Pub for my complementary copy. All opinions are my own.)

This sweet book is for the girlies. Your Worth Never Wavers seeks to teach children, particularly little girls ages 4-7, that their worth is found in Christ and that they are always truly beautiful, simply because they are made in God’s glorious image and formed by His loving hands.

Laura Wifler’s books always give such care to inclusivity in illustrations and this book is no different. Sara Uglotti knocked it out of the park with this one.

Definitely recommend!

What is it about?
This exquisitely illustrated children’s picture book, is designed to gently guide young girls into understanding true beauty, identity, and intrinsic value. The core message challenges cultural narratives that urge us to “look within” for self-worth. Instead, Wifler emphasizes that real worth and beauty aren’t earned or found through our own efforts, but are received by recognizing how God lovingly created each of us in His image lSet against vibrant depictions of nature—from grand canyons to lively beehives—the narrative reinforces that the same God who crafted otters, sunset skies, and snowflakes also fostered the uniqueness of every child.

Who is it for?
This book is aimed at girls aged 4-8 and would definitely be loved and treasured by them.

What did I enjoy about the book?
I really appreciated this book for its beautiful illustrations and how it points children back to God as their Creator. The artwork is vibrant and engaging, and I especially loved how nature is used as a metaphor—reminding us that the same God who made mountains, oceans, and sunsets also lovingly created each of us. It’s a powerful and gentle way to affirm that we are made in God’s image and therefore that’s where we gaet our intrinsic value and dignity and identity lies. It points away from ourselves and points to our creator.

Further Thoughts
That said, I do have a note of caution around the phrase, “you’re worthy and beautiful all the way through.” While I understand the intent behind it, from a biblical perspective, our worth and beauty come not from ourselves but from being redeemed in Christ. The book does briefly reference redemption, but I would have appreciated a clearer grounding of identity in the cross. Especially for young readers, we need to be wise in how we present these truths—affirming their value as image-bearers of God while also pointing them consistently to the gospel as the true source of their worth. Maybe “You are deeply loved and made in God's image. Though sin affects every part of us, Christ makes us new, and in Him we find our true beauty and worth” would be a more biblically accurate rendering that clearly roots our identity our ultimate identity in Christ.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It is beautifully lyrical, wonderful at affirming a girls value as being created in the image of God and is stunningly illustrated. I would just be wise to ensure any conversations firmly root ultimate identity in Christ and the need of his cross.

This book is a much-needed breath of fresh air for girls living in a world that tells them that their worth is conditional (based on looks, behaviors, smarts, etc.). Ugolotti’s illustrations and Wifler’s rhymes are so lovely in this book. I love that the message is from Mom’s/female guardians to their daughters and how girls of all types are represented: different skin colors, ages, and abilities.

Recommended for ages 4 to 7.

Your Worth Never Wavers is a faith-based children’s book with a heartfelt message about the unshakable value each child holds. The vibrant, colorful illustrations are a highlight, bringing warmth and joy to every page. The core theme resonated with me deeply, as I want my daughter to grow up knowing her worth is constant and unchanging.
However, some sections felt unnecessary and slightly distracting, which pulled me out of the flow of the story. While the message is strong and important, the delivery could have been more concise to keep young readers engaged.
Overall, Your Worth Never Wavers offers an encouraging message wrapped in beautiful artwork, though its impact is somewhat lessened by uneven pacing.

A gorgeous book in illustration and in message about how God created masterpieces throughout the natural world, and he also created girls to be beautiful and lovely just as they are. In a world that tells us all to alter who we are to fit the ideal, this book tells girls that in Jesus, they are found to be ideal. A must for my friends with little girls.

This is a tender-hearted picture book for girls of all ages to come back to in times of doubt and concern. It is a beautiful reminder to young girls of their identity and how all the wonderous things in life were created by the same God - including them.

The representation and diversity represented across each of the pages through the images is important in showcasing that every girl, mother, and daughter are unique but also deeply loved.

This book offers theological depth in a child-friendly manner. This would be perfect in faith-based schools for classroom read-aloud, bedtimes, or for important conversations between parents and kids.
