Jillian Witt has absolutely knocked it out of the park with this book - I’m quickly becoming a HUGE fan of her work. This book is so fun and new, with a truly unique magic system. It felt so fresh and a nice change of pace from a lot of the same fantasy novels we seem to get over and over.
This book really sets the story, and while it was a little slow, it sets the foundation for the trilogy and is beautifully written. The world building is extremely well done and really drew me in. The story was immersive, and while some readers may find it a bit slow to push through, it’s absolutely worth the effort. The relationship between Emberline and Hart is drawn out and I’m so excited to see how everything unfolds in the next book.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the Author for the eARC of this book!

Thank you so much to the publishers and author for the gifted e-ARC.
I absolutely adored the magic system in this book. It was completely unlike anything I've ever read before and it was so well done!
The world building was excellent, the tension between the FMC and MMC was chef's kiss and the villains were so well done!
I wish everyone in the story hadn't kept life-altering secrets from the FMC, as she would have been much more equipped tp deal with things!
So excited for the next book in this series! Such a good read!!

Thank you so much to Jillian Witt and ARC provided by Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the eARC. This book had me hooked from the first couple chapters. The magic system is very well built and the tension between the main characters is so good! It's a slow burn, bodyguard mmc, and just really well written.

I really enjoyed this book!! I am definitely a fan of Jillian Witt’s writing style, as this was the second book of her’s I’ve read so far. The pacing was great, the characters were interesting and complex, the plot was intriguing and very well structured. The world-building doesn’t overwhelm the storyline which made it easy to follow, while still adding lots of context.
The use of emotions as a magical source and means for the elite “blessed” was such a unique and fascinating idea. You feel so connected to the characters turmoil as the struggle to hide your emotions is very relatable. A few of the reveals I anticipated but this made me more eager to read on, it didn’t take from the suspense.
The romance element of the story was swoon worthy and taught with tension. I immediately loved the FMC and MMC, I can’t wait for their connection to flourish in book 2.

ARC Review*
Jeweler to the Blessed by Jillian Witt
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book and give my opinion! #netgalley
This book has one of my top Romantasy reads this year! I loved the magic system and the banter and tension between Hart and Ember. There were several twists and turns that surprised me and kept me guessing. I will definitely be waiting for book 2 to come out!
If you like the following, you’ll love this book:
-Romantasy
-Slow Burn
-Bodyguard MMC
-Unique magic systems
-Goddesses & prophecies
-Banter & tension

This book was such a great read. The magic system was so unique and kept me wanting to read more. I love the main characters. The way they interact and slowly fall for each other was the best form of torture. There's also a twist, betrayal, and so so many secrets to keep you up until the last page, where you will then be tortured with waiting for the next book.

Another amazing book by Jillian Witt! This book had so many layers - to the world, the characters, the plot. I loved every second of this book. I read A LOT of romantasy/fantasy, and I absolutely love when I come across a book that's unique. This author has never let me down and I will always recommend her books.

Really well written book that I wish would be here soon so I could get others to read it. Characters were lovable and easy to understand/get along with. Setting and the world building was amazing and paced just right for me.
Thanks Netgalley and publisher/author for the ARC!

Jeweler to the Blessed drew me in. It’s quite a short but compelling read, with a fascinating magic system and characters that quickly come to life on the page.
The magic woven into the story felt fresh and imaginative, adding depth without overwhelming the plot. The main characters were engaging, with just the right balance of intrigue and emotion to keep me turning the pages.
At its heart, this book is fun and easy to enjoy. Perfect for when you want a story that entertains while still offering something a little different.
Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC. I look forward to the next in the series and highly recommend this one if you’re looking for a quick yet satisfying fantasy read.

This book was a solid 5-star romantasy read for me.
The world-building was fantastic, original, and the magic system is so interesting and unique! I like books that are centered around gods, and I haven't come across anything about the Gods of Chaos and Order in my reading. So this was a joy to dig into.
Sister Goddesses Chaos and Order each have a Champion in the fight for the soul of the city of Kavios. The city is ruled by King Rodric Glanmore and the Blessed. The citizens who have been chosen by King Rodric to wear jewelry of adamas. This jewelry grants powers to the wearers such as strength, longevity, ability to heal, etc. In order to have these powers, the Blessed must absorb them from the citizens of Kavios by taking it by touching bare skin and leaching their emotions from them. Oftentimes, a violation, taking without consent. King Rodric treats the citizens of Kavios like chattal, taking what he wants from them and also using magic to keep them from wanting to leave. Emberline is different than the average citizen, and her family, especially her Uncle Alaric, has spent their life trying to protect Emberline from being exposed.
The FMC, Emberline Arkova, was fierce, loyal, intelligent, and brave.
The MMC, Hart, her guard, was so swoonworthy. He reminded me of Kingfisher from Quicksilver or Hawke of From Blood and Ash.
I absolutely loved everything about this book, the revelations, twists, and turns. The chemistry, banter, and tension between Ember and Hart was sizzling! The scene in the alcove at Forest's Edge was my favorite.
I'm happy to report that this is the first book in the Champions of Chaos series because I want more of Ember and Hart!
Read this if you love:
- stories about Magic
- he falls first
- I'll follow you anywhere
- touch her and die
- her bodyguard

I'm a fan of Jillian's writing and this latest is no exception. I love the darker tone compared to her other books and yet it still felt almost cozy adjacent.
Hart, excuse the pun, had my heart. If you like your book boyfriends to be willing to do or be whatever their lady needs from them in that moment, Hart will check that box for you. My only lament is that we don't get his pov. I would have really loved seeing the yearning, though it was definitely felt even without his pov.
My favorite though was the magic system. It's like nothing I've ever read before and I loved how the using of the magic correlated to the emotion that was taken, but not in the obvious way.
Can't wait for book two!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me free access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This one was interesting. At first, I think it was just okay. I was trying to get my bearings and figure out the world/magic system for a while and really didn't see where it was going. I think, due to the setup of the beginning half of the novel, it left me a little wanting up until about 70%. Then it got really good and I couldn't put it down.
I enjoyed our main MMC & FMC pretty well. I think where characters fell flat were almost everyone else. There just wasn't enough interaction between any of the other side characters for them to matter to the plot beyond perceived hurdles or plot points. That said, if you put our MMC & FMC in a lineup of other MMCs & FMCs, I don't know that I would be able to pick them out.
Where this book shines is its plotline. It's got very interesting world building, and magic systems in place. The way that the magic works, gods and goddesses, blessed, etc. was all extremely interesting to me and frankly a little confusing. It took me a minute to understand the perimeters. As our FMC starts to answer her own questions, everything clicks into place very nicely at the end (although predictable).
Overall I was very interested in this story, and got very invested in the last 30%. I'm looking forward to reading book 2 of the series and expect book 2 will be even better than book 1 now that we're all in on the game 👀

Thank you so much to Jillian Witt & Netgalley for sending me this ARC after I recently read 'Bargains With Benefits' in exchange for an honest review.
Rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wow! I loved loved this book so much! I found the whole magic system so unique and I found the MC'S so engaging. This was everything I love in romantasy books and more truly enchanting.
About the book - In a kingdom where touch drains emotions for power, Emberline masks hers, but when she becomes the key to the Blessed’s magic, her broody bodyguard could make her feel too much.
His touch would be her undoing.
With a single touch, the ruling Blessed could realize Emberline Arkova is immune to their magic. She’s determined to leave the kingdom in search of answers, because every day she remains is a risk.
But her uncle’s sudden disappearance upends her plans. Thrust into his role as jeweler, she’s gone from avoiding the Blessed to becoming the center of their world. Uniquely able to identify the gems required for their magic, she’s now their most precious resource.
My Thoughts -
The plot flowed effortlessly and I found the pacing really easy to follow and never lost interest. Our two FMC & MMC kept me infatuated with their tension, teasing and flirting ... chefs kiss 😚 Emberline is fearless, courageous, loyal and her ability to suppress her emotions ( Concealing who she truly is ) made her a truly inspiring FMC and then there's our MMC Hart incredibly handsome and extremely dangerous especially at first until you see that he too is concealing his true self. Emberline & Harts connection throughout the book had me swooning.
Personally I felt this book had such deeper meaning and representation of emotions and how to recapture and embrace all those feelings you have hidden inside. They are not weaknesses, and we are much stronger than we believe we are,
Tropes Included are;
💎 Bodyguard Romance
💎 Slow Burn
💎 Forced Proximity
💎 Unique Magic System
💎 Political Intrigue & Plot Twists
I can’t wait for the next instalment of The Champions of Chaos series and I truly recommend anyone who loves romantasy to give this charming, bewitching, beautifully meaningful book a read 😍

I keep thinking about this book. I need book 2 like... five minutes ago.
The magic system was SO unique. So so unique. The Blessed have the ability to steal emotions through touch - but Emberline, our FMC, is immune, so she cannot let them know. Her uncle is the renowned jeweler to the Blessed, but when he disappears, she has to step into the rule. Her secret makes this more of a challenge while she tries to solve her uncle's mysteries that he left behind.
As the royal jeweler, she gets a bodyguard, so YUP hello handsome guard. So good. Trust me, y'all, trust. me.
The story keeps you hooked with intrigue, but is simple enough that you don't require pages upon pages of lore dumping and worldbuilding to understand what's going on.
And the ending!!! I will be eagerly waiting for the next book in this unique series!

Thank you netgalley and Victory Editing for giving me a chance to read and review this beautiful Earc 😍✨.
The magic system is so unique in this book and something I have never read before. This book took a while to pick up but it was definitely worth it when it did. 👏🏾🙂✨.
I hated how they hid secrets from Emberline and just kept her in the dark 💔😶.
The MMC Hart is so well written that I personally am in love. I love the banter between him and Emberline 🤣. I also love the nickname he gave her "chaos" it's so sweet. I am a SUCKER for a nickname🤭.
The slow burn in this was soooo too tier.
That ending though I need book 2 ASAP 😭✨.

Jeweler to the Blessed is an enchanting new adult high romantasy about a kingdom where touch drains emotions for power, a heroine immune to its magic and her broody bodyguard whose touch could be her undoing. The immersive storytelling and multifaceted characters made this book instantly addictive and hard to put down. I loved everything about it between the rich world building and lore, meddling gods and dark curses, hidden identities, unique emotion-based magic system, and From Blood and Ash meets One Dark Window vibes. The slow burning romance had sizzling tension, humor and top tier banter. If you love a fierce and strong heroine and an incredibly swoony love interest with burn-the-world-for-her energy, you will definitely love Emberline and Hart as much as I did.
This fresh take on the romantasy genre completely captivated me, and I can’t wait for the next installment of this epic romantasy!
Thank you to NetGalley and the Nerd Family for this gifted ARC!

Thank you so much to netgalley, Jillian Witt, and the publisher for allowing me a copy of this book early!

If you’re looking for a unique magic system, lots of world building, a few twists and turns, one major plot twist, and an insta-connection romance with the slowest burn pay out than I highly recommend grabbing Jeweler to the Blessed!
I want to first start off by saying that I really enjoyed the magic system of this world, and the whole process of creating the jewelry and mining for specific jewels that happen to have a twin that looks almost identical and then these jewels being what holds and crates the magic of this world was so so interesting. I also really did enjoy the twists and turns this story provided and the characters were really interesting to get to know. Emberline is our main leading lady who has been forced to take up the position of the crowns jeweler after her uncle has abandoned his position. Except Emberline never planned to be in this position, all she wanted was to make sure her family was cared for and travel to see if she could learn more about the secret she’s been forced to keep her whole life. In her new Jeweler position though Ember is learning that not everything is as it seems and she may be the only thing standing between Order and Chaos. You also won’t be able to help yourself from loving Hart. He is broody, sarcastic, and he is good at pushing Embers buttons. The man is a mystery from the beginning, one thing you can be sure about though is that he will do any and everything to make sure that Ember is safe. And Ember can’t help the strange almost magnetic life draw she feels towards him.
What drew me out of this book on more than one occasion was the pacing. This book started off amazing and every page I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen, but somewhere near the middle things began to slow way down, there were fewer and fewer things happening and the few things that were happening either got resolved very quickly or seemed like they had been forgotten about, and it took a while for them to pick back up again. Once things did pick back up at the end though with those twist and turns and cliffhanger ending I was left wanting to know what was going to happen in book two!
I also was torn on how I felt about the romance, I enjoy a solid slow burn romance, even if the characters have an instant connection. For me it seemed like the characters were slowly building up to an amazing romance, and there would be instances especially on the MMCs part where it seemed like the romance might finally be igniting but then suddenly it would all come to a halt and it seemed like our characters would start back at point one of getting to know and trust each other. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy what romance there was because I very much did, especially with out cliffhanger ending I can’t wait to see what’s to become of our two MCs.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, and am excited to see what happens next!

The beginning of the book flowed seamlessly into the explanation of the magic system and why Emberline wanted to leave town. This hooked me into the story right away, and I loved that. However, for the next 100 pages, it was mostly inner dialogue and Emberline wondering about things going on around her. Only about three events stood out to me in that time frame that progressed the plot.
I liked the unique, complex magic system. Many books that feature something like that usually have a glossary at the front of the book that lists the features of the magic system, unique artifacts used in the system, key details of old lore that would be helpful to remember, and summaries of the characters and their affiliations if there are more than ten or so to keep track of throughout the entire book. I would have liked to see something like this to help me keep track of the magic colors and uses, as well as the goddess bloodlines, kingdoms, curses, etc. Oftentimes, the colors of magic were mentioned without an explanation, which required me to remember what the color represented. I then had to try to remember this in the middle of the new Feared and Blessed characters coming into play… It was just a lot to keep track of without a key to help me remember and flip back to.
I was not a big fan of our MMC, Emberline’s, character throughout most of the book. She doesn't try to ask questions for the very important answers she seeks. Instead, she makes many assumptions, and they become her truth. Then her thoughts spiral round and round about this new false truth without her trying to prove it. This is frustrating to read because it requires a lot more inner dialogue of her spiraling, repetitive thoughts that could all have been avoided if she had talked to people around her. I understand the importance of the inner dialogue. It probably would not have been so overwhelming to me if it wasn't also repetitive.
I was very intrigued by this storyline and where I could see it heading. This was what propelled me through finishing the story, but it was very difficult to get through without a glossary and Emberline’s repetitive, spiraling inner dialogue that didn’t need to go on as long as it did.
Thank you to Jillian Witt for the ARC opportunity.
Reviews will be posted on my social media pages, Goodreads and Amazon on the release day, 8/19.

I absolutely loved this book. The fmc is so easy to instantly connect with and love, and the mmc is broody enough to make you wonder what's next. I have a total book hangover wanting to know what's next! I recommend this for anyone who loves a good fantasy and / or romantasy.

Tense politics, a clever magic system, and a romance that burns — Jeweller for the Blessed delivers it all. The world’s magic instantly hooked me: the Blessed, tied to crystals called Adamas, can steal emotions from the rest of the populace. It’s a fascinating, unsettling ability that threads through the political tensions and personal stakes.
The story stays centred on Kavios, where worship of one goddess is enforced and the other forbidden, creating a high-stakes backdrop for court intrigue. Against this, the romance blazes — Hart makes for the perfect romantic hero: teasing, confident, deadly with a blade, and full of hidden depths.
I guessed one twist early, but it only made me more eager for its reveal. Not everything is resolved, and the ending left me equal parts satisfied and desperate for book two. A captivating, suspenseful romantic fantasy.
