Thank you to net galley for letting me read this prior to release. This was such a fun book to read. It had to best witchy vibes with a hint of the parent trap. The island setting gave me stars hallow feels and even some of the witty banter. An easy cozy read with just enough of a twist at the end to keep you guessing.

After catching her husband cheating with her best friend, Beatrice sets out on a solo trip - reluctantly, skeptically, and emotionally untethered. Her journey takes an even stranger turn when not one, but two mysterious strangers warn her she’ll experience seven miracles… and then die. From there, her path unfolds with family secrets, unexpected connections, and quietly powerful moments of magic.

This novel wrapped me in a cozy, whimsical feeling that fans of magical realism and family-centered stories will appreciate. The premise itself—seven miracles and a prophecy of death - adds a sense of curiosity and anticipation that kept me guessing. As Beatrice sheds her skepticism and opens herself to the unknown, we watch her rediscover strength, purpose, and a renewed connection to life.

The characters were mostly enjoyable, though I found myself occasionally frustrated by their choices or dialogue. The pacing also felt uneven in places, with moments where my attention drifted. That said, when the book leaned into its magical and emotional core, it truly shone. The themes of transformation, forgiveness, and personal empowerment were heartfelt and resonated strongly.

Overall, I have mixed feelings - not because it wasn’t good, but because it was inconsistent. The magical, soulful elements lifted my cozy, witchy heart, even if some plot elements felt undercooked. In the end, I rounded up because the message and mood outweighed the flaws.

Recommended for readers who love stories about fate, found family, and a touch of the mystical.

The first 85% of this book was solid 5⭐️

I was entirely immersed in this somewhat bonkers premise, in love with the whimsical town and the family she found and was building. Then everyone turns on her, including the woman she was falling in love with, blaming her for something she barely had any part in and I am a bitch who holds a grudge. The mother who abandoned her treats her like trash from the moment they meet, she joins this dog piling against her and then its all just forgotten, naw, I'm coming back from the dead with revenge in mind cuz truly f*ck you all

I did not finish this, I listened until 27% and just found myself not connecting with the characters or the story. There was really nothing wrong with it, I think it just wasn’t for me! Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this book early!

This was a cute read, this one had a twist in it that really got me invested in this book. I wish I had saved this one for spooky season as I think it would have hit a bit different. Deffo worth the read if you love witchy vibes.

Emotional, magical, and beautifully told. The Seven Miracles of Beatrix Holland is a story about found family, quiet magic, and hard-won healing. The middle dragged a little, but didn’t take away too much enjoyment from the story. The real miracle? Xe Sands’ narration. I’d listen to her read a math book—she brings so much depth and soul to every word. Absolutely unforgettable.
Thank you NetGalley and to the publish for this ARC.

Beatrice Barnard (who firmly rejects the “Beatrix” spelling) is a 45‑year‑old businesswoman grounded in spreadsheets, not spells. After discovering her husband’s infidelity, she retreats to Skerry Island—a lush and mysterious locale in the Pacific Northwest where generations of women have quietly practiced witchcraft. A psychic’s dire prediction—that she’ll experience seven miracles before she dies—makes her flee, but the miracles begin almost immediately: a near‑fatal accident, the discovery of a twin sister (Cordelia), and the reappearance of her presumed‑dead mother (Astrid). It was fun and quirky, a wonderful weekend read!

I have some mixed feelings about this book as when I finished I was left confused as to my level of enjoyment. Because on one hand there were part of the book that were endearing and made my cozy witchy loving heart soar! But on the other hand there were many times that I checked out or was frustrated with the characters. So in the end, it wasn’t consistent. There is an endearing story there, it’s just the execution wasn’t solid. That being said, I rounded up as it had more wonderful than frustration.

I consumed the audiobook and I spend a bit of time thinking about how it impacted my experience and I came the conclusion that I don’t think it did, except it probably got me through those slow parts which if I was using my eyeballs to read, I may have stopped reading for a bit and interpreted my flow.

It was narrated by Xe Sands and it was challenging. Ms Sands for one, spoke at a very slow place for the 1x speed. The type of pace that if she was telling a story in person you would want to ask to get on with it. But also her diction was bizarre. After each sentence it almost sounded like she was going to laugh or at the minimum was smiling. Now this could be perfect for certain sections but it wasn’t appropriate for most of it. For me personally the vocals chosen did not fit the characters. However, all was good by speeding it up to 2x as it changed things enough where you didn’t get the strange vocalizations.

I’ll mention that there is a lot going on in the book so you need to pay close attention. I enjoyed the urbane fantasy witchy vibes while also having a cozy quality to it. You know, it also had a historical fiction quality to it . To the tone of the prose as it’s not historical at all!

So in the end, I recommend the read but not the audiobook specifically. While it has some execution challenges, over all it’s a fun and at times beautiful read.

I am thankful to have gotten a complimentary audio ALC from Hachette Audio through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

My general rating system is below. Since I primarily read ARC books I rate according to how I think like minded readers will receive the book. I will round up or down depending on many factors and try not to let my personal wants affect a books ratings.

⭐️ Hated It but pushed through as so don’t DNF ARCs I have received.
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, content issues, poorly edited.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but it had something that stopped me from rounding up. Usually the book may have much more potential than what was given. I recommend it but with reservations.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I Really enjoyed it or think others will. These are solid reads that I definitely would recommend for a variety of reasons.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! These are books that remain rent free in my head for well after unfinished the book. It can be for a variety of reasons from being very well written or just the vibes that captured my mind. These books are also ones I would probably read again.

I liked the cute, cozy town a lot, and the small town nosiness of being a little up in everyone's business. I liked Beatrice, although I wasn't quite sold on the rest of her family. There were fairly high stakes at the end, but for this being a book about a prophecy ending in death, it was very cozy. Very cup of tea and a fall sweater sort of book.

I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Xe Sands. Very calm read.

3.5/5*s, rounded up.

Thanks to Hachette Audio and NetGalley for early access.

Thank you netgalley and hatchette audio for this alc in exchange for my honest review.

This book will make a decent cozy fall read if you like urban contemporary fantasy and witchy vibes (think Charmed, not cauldrons and cackle). The book has a good story at its core and the characters were all well written and likable. The downside of that - a lot of time was  spent on secondary plot branches that aren't really core to the main plot, and the main plot itself was rushed to catch up later. To make it harder, the pacing was somewhat inconsistent and I went through periods of very slow  spells followed by a much faster paced chapters which made me feel like I am reading two different books at the same time.

I think pacing and a little too cookie cutter-type main character   placed this book in a "there's a good story somewhere there, but it hasn't been told in the most exciting way." for me. The odd pacing was a feature of the whole book and escalated into a very rushed (imo) ending.

Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed by the story flow which made it really hard to connect. I was also not impressed by quotes from YouTube Instagram etc - had anyone figured out of they were actually related to the chapters they were placed in? - if so let me know!
I am nitpicking here though and overall it was a good cozy book with a very heartwarming feel-good setting and great characters.

You will like the book if you like: mature main characters, finding yourself as an adult, found family, modern witches, small town settings.

I have very mixed feelings on this book, but overall I can’t say I loved or disliked it. It was just ok.

Most of my mixed feelings come from the extensive amount of plot, character building, and setting exploration in this story.

I really enjoyed the characters and the sweet little town of Skerry Island. I almost wanted more exploration of the town and its close-knit community. The characters also had such rich connections and back story. That said, at times it felt like too much space was given for characters without advancing the plot.

The magic system was also a bit loose. It was clearly important to the story and the characters yet got lost in the shuffle of everything else happening.

The ending was also deeply unsatisfying. It felt incredibly rushed amidst the groundwork and character backstories that were set up.

I really loved the voice actor chosen for this book. They did an excellent job of voicing the various characters and expressing appropriate emotion and tone

Thank you to NetGalley, Hachette Audio, and Grand Central Publishing for this ALC.

This was so sweet, I loved the msg!! 🤍
I can def see the Practical Magic x Parent Trap— The fact that Parent Trap was mentioned in the book itself had me laughing lol!!

The way our characters were able to discuss things so openly & full of love? It was just so cozy.
*Some parts at least lol!! Other parts had me wanting to fight Minna ft 😭😭😭 ‘Cause girl????
But the queer representation? Loved.

If you love the bonds of a family of women, queerness, witchcraft, & most of all the power of love— Def pick this one up 🤍

“The only magic wand she held was her vibrator.”
This had me cacklinggg ☠️
‘Cause same girl, same lmfao.

I also loved the term S.A.L— Spirits of All Life.
Such an amazing outlook fr.

“It was raining falling on a hot day, it was a lightning striking in a tri-force, It was a new country, one Beatrice didn’t know existed and had never wanted to travel to, but now it was one only nation she wanted stamped on every single page in her passport.”
Give me this or nothing!! 🥹🤍

Xe Sands did an amazing job narrating this!! She def captured all the emotions in this 💋
