I was interested to see the au5hor introduces pioneering surgery into the story

Fun follow-on to Pretending to Love a Lyon. In that book, Lord Samuel Clark suffered a life-threatening injury that put him at death's door. His best friend Graham Blakewood moved into Sam's house to help Sam's twin sister, Amelia, care for him. Desperate to save Sam's life, Amelia made a bargain with Mrs. Dove-Lyon - a top-notch surgeon to care for Sam in exchange for Sam marrying a woman of the widow's choice. The twists and turns of that book were fascinating.
As this book opens, Sam finally regains consciousness to find his life permanently altered. His sister is married to his best friend, much of society believes he is dead, and he is engaged to an unknown woman. Sam has no intention of carrying through with the marriage, as he wants a woman he can love.
In the meantime, Graham's younger sister, Daisy, has been promised to an earl since childhood. When rumors about her brother's marriage reach her chaperone, Daisy finds herself summarily exiled from her current situation. She takes refuge with her brother at Sam's house, where she renews her acquaintance with him.
I enjoyed the development of Sam and Daisy's relationship. It begins as a simple friendship, with Daisy keeping Sam company as he recovers. She witnesses his frustration with his sister's overprotectiveness and helps him with his secret attempts at rehabilitation. It doesn't take long for stronger feelings to grow between them, but neither is truly free to pursue those feelings. Sam must find a way to win his freedom that will satisfy Mrs. Dove-Lyon, and Daisy must overcome her ingrained need to please everyone else before attending to her own needs.
The resolution is well done as the Black Widow weaves her web and pulls the strings to gain her desired outcome. There were some tense moments as Sam and Daisy each carried out their tasks. Secondary characters Tristan Chase and Miss Smith provide a couple of twists in the plot. I suspect we will see them in a subsequent book.

Another great edition to the Lyon’s Den series. Sam and Daisy are both promised to others but know there’s an instant attraction that’s not going away as Daisy helps Sam recuperate from a serious injury. Sam is older than his years and Daisy is very sheltered and naive so no one sees them as a couple but they fall in love and have to figure out ways to be free of their entanglements to be together. As with most Lyon’s Den books there some intrigue thrown in from the Widow and her manipulations. Plenty here to keep you turning the pages.

To Steal a Lyon's heart is the second book of three by Dayna Quince. It is also part of The Lyon's Den Connected World.
Recovering from a near fatal tragedy injury, he awakens to discover his sister makes an agreement with Mrs. Dove-Lyon to save his life. Sam, the Earl of Aston, refuses to accept the terms.
Daisy Blackwood is nineteen and has not made her come out. She has been betrothed since birth and has had all her choices taken away from her. It was only a matter of time for these two to find each other and to discover they are everything the other could want. But with both of them betrothed to others, it will take all of their strength to stand up and fight to be together.
It is a fun and entertaining story. I enjoyed watching their love story come to life.

Sam, the Earl of Alston, is on the brink of death. His twin sister makes a deal with Mrs. Dove-Lyon to save his life. Daisy Blackwood has no control over her life. Caught in a marriage contract she doesn't want, she is staying with her brother and his wife, the earl's twin sister. Daisy becomes Sam's secret physical therapist. He sees her as his angel, but is unaware of her engagement. An innocent, she is seduced and falls for Sam. Only Mrs. Dove-Lyon holds the key to their happiness.
A passionate love story with a twist.
Very description sex.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley.

Most of my prior experience with books from the world of the Lyon's Den were more in the style of standalone stories so I began To Steal a Lyon's Heart being somewhat confused. That being said, I still enjoyed the story quite a bit. I recommend readers begin with Pretending to Love a Lyon first before beginning this book so that you'll have a better understanding of the backstory and the characters.
Sam, the Earl of Alston, comes to consciousness realizing that not only did he barely survive a terrible fall from his horse, his twin sister Amelia is married to his best friend Graham Blakewood, and Amelia made a deal with Lady Dove-Lyon to betroth Sam to an unknown woman in payment for medical care from a top notch surgeon. It's true that Sam would have almost certainly died without the surgeon's care, but he didn't want it to be at the expense of his right to choose when and who he marries. Especially since his goal is to be like his father and marry for love. Sam feels powerless due to his prolonged recuperation, Amelia & Graham treating him as if he's made of spun glass, and Lady Dove-Lyon's surly representative Mr. Chase stopping by uninvited daily to escort Sam's nurse Miss Smith. Oh, and exchange threats with Sam.
Graham Blakewood's younger sister Daisy is going through some challenges of her own. Betrothed since infancy to the son of her mother's friend, she's shy and insecure. Her future mother in law is a pursed lipped shrew who has been browbeating Daisy into what she wants as the perfect wife for her son, who most of the time can't even bother to visit or even write to Daisy. Thanks to narrowminded ninnies who love to gasp and share gossip, Daisy is kicked out of her host's home (a close friend of the shrew) and luckily Daisy is able to make it to Alston's townhome where Sam, Amelia & Graham are living.
From there it's a fun tale of twists and turns for Sam & Daisy to get their happy ending. I liked the connection between them, their communication and the strong attraction between them. There were aspects of the book I didn't care for as much. Mr. Chase was so annoying at first I wanted someone to kick him hard in the rear every time he walked in Alston's home. He eventually redeemed himself somewhat but he was such a tiring pushy villain for most of the story. Hopefully the third book will be for Mr. Chase to completely redeem his character. I think To Steal a Lyon's Heart is an enjoyable book, especially when read as a series.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. My opinions are unsolicited and my own viewpoint on what I have read.

To Steal A Lyon’s Heart by Dayna Quince is a Lyon’s Den book and almost a throwback to the original premise of the books. Sam, the Earl of Aston, awoke from what should have been his death bed. He couldn’t open his eyes but he could hear Amelia, his twin. After several days when he was somewhat coherent, he was told he’d fallen from his horse, broken a rib, and ruptured his spleen, a death sentence in those days. Amelia had gone to the Black Widow of Whitehall, Bessie Dove-Lyon, for help and Bessie had sent a surgeon who could help. It was experimental; the surgery had been done before but the patient had never lived. It appeared he would. What Amelia had traded for Bessie’s help was his hand in marriage, to a woman he didn’t even know. Well so he supposed as he didn’t know who it was. He was also told that Amelia had married his best friend, Blackwood, at what they supposed was his death bed. It was all a little too much, until Blackwood’s younger sister appeared. Then everything changed.
Sam was a young earl, only twenty-two and he had been earl for years. His father had died young; his mother had died birthing him and Amelia. He knew he would marry someday but he wanted to be in love; he wanted to choose his own wife. Daisy Blackwood was only nineteen and had been betrothed since early childhood. She was shy and unassuming and simply wanted someone to noice her. Sam did. But, since they were both betrothed, there were multiple obstacles, obstacles Mrs. Dove-Lyon helped overcome, simply to see some people get what they deserved. Sam lived, as you might have guessed. Blackwood and Amelia were happy together, now that Sam had gotten over the shock. This was a wonderful novel, full of plot twists, and not the typical ones. The characters were good and entertaining. The romance was lovely, not entirely physical, but it certainly included that part of it. A book worth your time.

With lives and reputations hanging on a thread, this heartwarming, and sometimes witty romance, keeps one in suspense as Lord Samuel and Daisy wade through a quagmire of gossip and malicious rumours. In the aftermath of her brother's hasty marriage to Sam's sister, Daisy is unceremoniously sent back to London on a stagecoach. Fortunately, she has a guardian angel in the form of a fellow passenger who recognises Daisy's vulnerability and ensures that she reaches her brother safely. However, her problems do not end there as her future mother-in-law casts aspersions on Daisy, her brother, his new wife, and the desperately ill Lord Samuel. Thinking that Daisy is still the sweet teenager he last saw, Sam invites her to visit him in his sickroom, for no other reason than to have someone to talk to. He is more than surprised when he discovers that she has grown into a lovely young woman. With plots and counterplots swirling around them, things get really complicated when Sam and Daisy begin to have feelings for one another, but with marriage contracts hanging over their heads, there seems to be very little they can do. As always, the Black Widow of Whitehall has the answer to every situation, and the novel comes to a lovely conclusion. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I have read several Lyon's Den connected books and this was not one of my favorite. I did not like the premise that you can hold someone accountable when they had not agreed themselves to anything. I also did not care for the fact both MC's were so young. I usually prefer older characters who have more life experience.

Another Lyons that hits the mark with a good plot, well thought out MCs and relevant secondary cast. Interesting read that worked for me.

His sister made a deal to save his life....
And now Sam has to pay the price. He has to wed a lady of Mrs. Dove-Lyons' choosing. Not his own.
Sam was in a horse riding accident that left him severely injured and his eye sight affected. He is in recovery and meets his best friends sheltered, younger sister, Daisy. Daisy was promised to another. But its the charismatic Sam that has her attention.
Recommend.

3.5 stars.
After loving Pretending to Love a Lyon so much, I am a smidgen disappointed that I didn't love this sequel story quite as much. I liked the overall story, and of course still enjoyed Dayna Quince's writing here, she is fabulous at her craft.
What I didn't find myself loving were some of the characters (specifically their behaviors in some instances) and just not fully connecting to them. Which I suppose since this is Sam and Daisy's story, that shouldn't matter as much, but it was still part of my reading experience.
I appreciated the slower burn, yearning type of relationship growth between our MMC and FMC, but I was equally annoyed at the various other characters who: babied Sam so much despite the doctors saying he was good to progress with things, and constantly reminded the reader how oh so meek and innocent and pathetic Daisy is. Which hello, she surely is not and she will show you when you stop taking away her choices (Lady Claywood, madam GORGON, I'm looking at you!)
Overall, a solid read, and I fully look forward to the third book of this trilogy within the Lyon's Den world. Although this is the second book, I think you could potentially read this as a standalone if you desired, perhaps if the first story's synopsis doesn't grab your attention but this one does, you just might not pick up on some of the scenarios they reference about Amelia and Graham.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for a chance to read an ARC of this book. It was published this week, and I believe it is available on Kindle Unlimited.

I love a good series, and this 2nd in Quince's 3-book series for the Lyon's Den does not disappoint. We met all the characters in book 1, "Pretending To Love A Lyon" (Amelia & Blakewood) and this book continues from Amelia's brothers point of view while still stuck in bed,, Very good, quick backstory for the reader who has not read Book 1.
Lord Samuel Clark, the Earl of Alson's trouble started when he fell off his horse and almost died. His twin sister made a deal with the infamous Bessie Dove-Lyon, owner of the Lyon's Den, to hire a doctor to save her brother's life. In exchange, Sam must marry someone of BDL's choosing.
Nothing goes according to plan, enter Miss Daisy Blakewood. Daisy is Graham Blakewood's 19 year old sister, and she has her own secrets. At some points Sam behaves like an ungrateful child, others he is wise beyond his 22 years. As the attraction between Daisy and Sam grows so do the secrets they are keeping from each other. There are a few surprises, a little revenge and a twist we all see coming. And of course the timely HEA.
We find out a little more about Sam's nurse, Miss Smith, and now I'm anxious for her story in Book 3.
This has been a wonderful, heart warming addition to the series, and a new view of Bessie Dove-Lyon.

Thank you NetGalley. Lord Alston almost died when he fell off his horse. The only chance to live was a surgeon who was found by Mrs. Lyon-Dove and hi twin sister set up a deal with her that if he lived he would marry a lady she found for him. In the meantime his sister married her boy friend because there was talk because he was living there with them. Finally Sam woke up ever mad at his sister because she had signed a contract to have him marry when he was well.
In The meantime the new husband's sister was staying with a friend of her fiancé's mother and absolutely miserable. They didn't like the talk about her brother so they put her on a mail coach to London and she went live with the family. Sam asked her to come read to him. help him strengthen his muscles, and just be there with him. They fell in love. They each had a person to get out of their life so they could marry each other. That was not going to be easy.

There are generally a few things you can count on when reading the Dove-Lyon series. That you will be entertained, that each story can stand alone, and the Mrs. Dove-Lyon will be a guiding presence in the story. This author met most of those items, however in this case, it is in your best interest to read both books in order as they intertwine beautifully. This is a longer than usual story for this series but no less entertaining. The author has a third book in the works and my hope is that it deals with Chase a new character.

To Steal a Lyon’s Heart is a sequel of sorts if you’ve read the previous book. It is always good to see how things are wrapped up. This book dealt with the aftermath of a sister’s bargain to save her brother’s life. This was a complex book because it gave humor, witty banter, friendship, romance, steam, deceit, verbal abuse, abandonment, grief, and the aftermath of a near death experience. Sam and Daisy were a sweet couple who fell in love without even realizing it. Unfortunately< they were both promised to another even if it was against their will. The book started a bit slow because I was waiting for the couple to meet longer than I would have liked. I was excited to get to the building connection and romance. In the beginning, the plans by Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon seemed a bit cruel for her, but once I saw her real intentions, it fit more in the mood of her character. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Sam was such a complex character because he had all this anger that he didn’t know how to process because he knew that he should be grateful to be alive. Daisy’s complexity came in the realization of who she was outside of what everyone else told her and making everyone else happy. I found moments of sadness, empathy, frustration, and laughter. I really enjoyed this book once I got to the two main characters being together. The side characters had depth as well because there seemed to be two sides to all of them. This story had an original plot but familiar themes throughout. This was a friends to lovers, best friend’s sister, arranged betrothal, slow burn, forbidden romance with a HEA. I enjoyed and would recommend.
I received an ARC from Net Galley and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Sam was in a serious accident requiring experimental surgery to save his life.
His sister signs his future away to Bessie Dove Lyon in order to procure the surgeon and the nurse.
Sam barely survives and is weak but angry not to have a choice of a love match.
Daisy comes to live at his home because her brother is Sam’s best friend and married to his sister.
Daisy and Sam become friends as she helps to allay his depression and helps him get stronger.
But secrets abound with twists and turns and there are vile greedy family members.
Amazingly perfect next step in this Lyons Den trilogy.
Enjoyed the first book and this is also just as good

Escapades Galore, A Daunting Heartfelt Romance Story:
Wow! This story reads like a super highflying, twisting roller coaster ride.
An unplanned reuniting brought Samuel and Daisy together again and their reacquainted friendship brings
forth a wonderful fan worthy romance story with many twists and surprises that kept me completely captured until this very happy conclusion.
This is one of the most emotional stories I have read that involves The Lyons Den, Mrs. Dove Lyon.
Mature Advisory:🔥🔥🔥
Book Cover💋

A little dramatic and unbelievable for my tastes, but isn't that all we want for our books? Don't we want escapism and a little break from reality? Incredibly enjoyable!

If you’re in the mood for a historical romance that feels like a mix of daring adventure and swoony moments, To Steal a Lyon’s Heart totally delivers. The premise? A gentleman jewel thief and a clever heroine whose worlds collide in the best (and sometimes most chaotic) way. It’s got that cat-and-mouse energy I love, with plenty of banter and tension that keeps the pages turning.
What I really enjoyed: the chemistry is off the charts without feeling too over-the-top, and the heroine? Smart, resourceful, and actually interesting—not just a damsel hanging around waiting for the hero. The pacing is solid, with enough twists to keep things lively without dragging the story out.
That said, it’s not perfect. Some of the plot turns felt a little too convenient, and a couple of side characters deserved more depth (because they were so intriguing!). Also, while the romance is front and center—which is great—it occasionally overshadows the stakes of the heist plot, which could have been fleshed out more.
Overall, though? This is a fun, escapist read for anyone who loves historical romance with a dash of mystery and plenty of charm. If you’re into clever heroines, roguish heroes, and a bit of sparkle (literally), this one’s worth picking up.
