Lord Samuel Clark, Earl of Alston, woke from the brink of death to a new life he didn’t recognize. To save him, his sister Amelia made a deal with the Widow of Whitehall, trapping Sam in a marriage contract with a total stranger. But Sam refuses to accept such a cold fate and schemes to free himself in secret. When Miss Daisy Blakewood is unscrupulously ousted from her traveling party, she takes shelter with her brother Graham in the residence of the recovering Earl of Alston. Free of her strict chaperones for the first time, Daisy takes the chance to find her voice and forge a new future. A chance meeting brings Sam and Daisy together, and their unexpected connection sparks an easy friendship and a secret alliance to help each other achieve their goals.
Another brilliant addition to the connected world. I’d recommend reading Graham & Amelia’s story before reading this as this book follows on. I loved both Sam & Daisy, he’s been given a second chance of life & she’s given the chance to blossom into a strong young woman. I loved the chemistry between them & how their feelings deepened but they both had secrets & I wondered how these would be resolved. A well written engrossing romance, which I found hard to put down & devoured it in two sittings, there were a couple of secondary characters who I hope have their HEA & maybe together?
I voluntarily read and reviewed a special copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own

While visiting her brother and his new wife, Daisy comes into close conduct with her new sister-in-law's brother Sam. Sam is recovering from an almost fatal accident. Spending time with a convalescing Sam only makes their hearts grow fonder for each other. However, each of them has secrets to tell. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

It’s a great storyline that was packed full of emotions. Because of a near fatal tragedy, Sam meets Daisy while on his death bed. Even with outside interference, I loved how their new relationship took on a life of its own. I love Mrs. Dove-Lyon and the unique situation that caused her to play a big part in Sam’s future. There were two secondary characters that I would have liked for them to have a happy ending, Miss Smith(Brandon) and Mr. Chase. The biggest issue I had is that a reproofing needs to be done as there are many instances where wrong words are used, a word is either added or omitted in a sentence. Overall it’s a fun read and I enjoyed it.

Oh Wow, just WOW. What a heart wrenching story whose choices are taken away from them and how they fight to get them back! I loved watching Daisy bloom into the strong woman she became after being so meek. Her family did her no favors by isolating her so and it was good to see her step out to help herself. I hurt for Sam and his sister, both of them manipulated by the Black Widow. But in the end, that woman showed a heart. Watching Sam and Daisy’s relationship grow was precious, but I felt for Miss Smith. I adored the scene between Chase and Sam, especially their escape and the villain(s) getting the punishment that was deserved was so very well written.
Why an author feels like they just HAVE to use the f-bomb in their stories is beyond me as it destroys the ambience (for me)of the whole story. (Thus the 4 stars.) Thankfully, it was only the one time, but it didn’t need to be there at all. I truly enjoyed seeing Amelia and Blackwood again and seeing their story from someone else’s point of view . A great story with all the feels!
I received this story for free and these are my own views.
