Book was good, but it´s not something that we could possibly sell to our Finnish readers at the moment.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | A quirky, heartfelt blend of fantasy, romance, and canine charm
K9 Mine is an unexpectedly delightful mash-up of small-town cop drama, time-bending fae fantasy, and sweet, slow-building romance—tied together with a healthy dose of humor and one very good dog (well, mostly). Shannon MacLeod takes a premise that sounds wild on paper—a K9 cop and a runaway faery tangled in a centuries-old conflict—and somehow makes it both fun and emotionally engaging.
Corporal Travis McLean is instantly likable: grounded, dedicated, and just a little bit exasperated by the chaos around him. His dream of becoming a K9 officer has always been his top priority, until a gorgeous, mysterious faery from sixth-century Ireland ends up in his kitchen. From there, the story weaves together his down-to-earth police work in a quirky tourist town with an escalating battle against an ancient evil druid, Ansgar, who will stop at nothing to reclaim his escaped captive.
The banter between Travis and the faery is charming, with plenty of fish-out-of-water moments and gentle teasing that slowly builds into something warmer. Their romance is on the sweet side, but the emotional beats land, especially as the stakes rise and Travis has to reconcile his “logical cop” worldview with a reality full of magic, danger, and history-spanning consequences.
MacLeod balances the contemporary setting and fantasy elements well, keeping the plot moving with a mix of action, humor, and heartfelt moments. The supporting cast—jealous exes, loyal friends, and the occasional troublesome tourist—adds texture without overwhelming the main story. And the K9 element is a treat for dog lovers, even if the “velociraptor” joke is more about personality than actual prehistoric teeth.
If there’s one small drawback, it’s that the tonal shifts from lighthearted romance to darker fantasy conflict can feel a little abrupt at times. Still, the payoff is worth it, with a satisfying resolution that ties together the magic, the romance, and Travis’s personal growth.
Bottom line:
K9 Mine is a fun, feel-good read for anyone who likes their paranormal romance with a twist, their heroes both capable and kind, and their love stories served with a side of magical chaos and loyal dogs.
