I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I will certainly recommend it to others. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC.

This memoir offers a raw and personal window into the author’s path from the depths of opioid addiction toward healing and meaning. As someone not spiritually inclined, I still found myself drawn to the honesty of his story and the resilience behind his recovery.

The book’s strength lies in its sincerity it doesn't preach or oversimplify. Instead, it shares moments of pain, reflection, and change, allowing the reader to witness transformation on the author’s terms. The spirituality explored feels intimate rather than imposing, which made it relatable, even from a secular viewpoint.

That said, certain passages can drift into abstract spiritual reflection, which might be less engaging if you’re craving more practical insight into addiction or recovery systems. The pacing also wavers at times, leaning heavily on introspective thought. While meaningful, those sections occasionally slow the momentum.
