Lana Ferguson has with Room for Two delivered a sun-soaked, slow-burn love story that’s as swoon-worthy as it is addictively fun to listen to.
Set against a summery Florida backdrop, this story follows Cade Monroe — a grumpy, beach-hating barista with a soft side — and Nora Whitfield, the guarded but magnetic woman who may or may not remember their shared kiss from a year ago. When a twist of fate throws them into a roommate situation, what unfolds is a charmingly awkward, emotionally rich journey full of missed signals, tender moments, and just the right dash of spice.
The audiobook format absolutely elevates the story. The dual narration brings both Cade and Nora to life with vivid emotional nuance and a dynamic back-and-forth that keeps the pacing lively. It’s the kind of audiobook that grabs your attention early and doesn’t let go — perfect for listeners who sometimes struggle to stay engaged. This one hooks you from the start and holds your heart hostage until the last chapter.
Ferguson’s writing balances witty banter, heartfelt vulnerability, and simmering tension with ease. While the romance is front and center, the story doesn’t shy away from deeper emotional layers, especially around themes of heartbreak, communication, and second chances.
Whether you're lying on a beach or stuck in traffic, Room for Two is the perfect feelgood listen to bring a little warmth and whimsy to your day. Just a warning — maybe keep your headphones in for the steamy scenes.
Verdict: A flirty, feelgood summer listen with undeniable heart and heat. A must-add to your seasonal audiobook tbr!

Thank you to Spotify Audio & Lana Ferguson for the advanced listener copy!
What an absolutely adorable novella from Lana Ferguson! Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Summers did a great job bringing Cade and Nora to life, luring me in right from the start.
I’m a total sucker for books that center on a misinterpreted situation. I loved to watch Cade bumble his way through what he thought was an interview for a new roommate, while Nora thought she was on a blind date. We love to see fate (aka their friends) intervene, forcing the two to finally make a move.
This was a short and sweet romance audio with the usual Lana spice and banter to round it all out! You’ll never catch me skipping a book written by Lana Ferguson! 😍

This was a cute and spicy audiobook snack from fav author, Lana Ferguson that sees Cade, a geeky older MMC falling hard for Nora, a barista/nursing school student. After sharing a magical night and kiss in which Nora has no memory, Cade silently pines for Nora until their friends set them up and they find themselves reliving their first boardwalk experience together. I thought this moved a little fast, even though it was a novella, it left me wanting more and didn't have enough depth for me. The audio narrators did a great job though and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Ali Hazelwood's STEMinist novellas. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review.

Super cute. Loved the story, and so much in such a short book. Fell in love with the characters, and absolutely loved the story.

My ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. If you’re looking for a fast and shorter summer read, this is for you!

I was so happy when I got approved for this novella from Lana Ferguson. I didn't think I would be able to listen to it, but thanks for NetGalley I had the chance. I really enjoyed the book. It was a quick listen, but such a lovely story. She writes a good romance and this one packed it all in for a short book.

Quick cute audiobook. Great narrators. It’s a romantic story with fun banter. Cover is fitting for story.

firstly, thank you to the publisher for an alc!!
I CANNOT BELIEVE I GOT APPROVED ?!?!?! crying crying crying
i literally believe i am lana ferguson’s number one fan because with every new book, i love her writing more.
this romance novella was everything i love about lana ferguson’s books — well developed and realistic characters; cute little quirky moments; and H O T SPICY SCENES 💖
AND there was dual narration which is always my favorite!!
i’m ready for the next lana ferguson book NOW please!!

This was a very well paced novella. Very cute, some miscommunication but over all a sweet time.
But I will say as a huge Lana fan, I’d never have know it was her based off her other writing. If you put a different name on it I’d have never know…..

Room for Two may be a novella, but it delivers a full-sized emotional and romantic punch. Lana Ferguson has a knack for creating relatable, layered characters, and this story is no exception. Cade is a shy, awkward guy who’s been quietly carrying a torch for Nora since an impulsive kiss she doesn’t even remember. Nora is hesitant to open her heart, but when a roommate situation throws them into close quarters, secrets and hidden feelings come to the surface.
The chemistry between Cade and Nora builds gradually and believably, making the payoff feel both earned and deeply satisfying. The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Summers enhances every beat of tension and tenderness.
This audio-exclusive novella is a standout addition to Ferguson’s growing list of hits. A heartfelt thank-you to NetGalley, Spotify Audiobooks, and Lana Ferguson for the ALC!

Thank you to the author, Spotify Audiobooks, and NetGalley for an early ALC.
Room For Two had me giggling and kicking my feet the entire time I was listening to it! I truly felt like I was living my own dream summer time romance.
If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that if Lana Ferguson writes it…I’m gonna read it. And this was no exception, and the entire time I was listening to the audiobook I found myself giggling and also being in awe of Ferguson’s writing and storytelling.
I also should mention I don’t usually listen to audiobooks (my attention span is never great with them) but this one had me hooked. I listened to it in one sitting because I was so addicted.
I truly could not have asked for a better summer time audiobook to listen to, and it is a perfect addition to any summer TBRs. Especially if you’re traveling and need an amazing audiobook.

It’s easy to be critical of novellas because they are so short and there just isn’t time to develop much plot and tension. That said, I thought Lana Ferguson did a good job at creating a story by using the same day on three separate years. Year one, our characters meet and kiss, but she’s drunk and forgets the whole meeting. Year two, they’re set up on a date by their friends. He thinks he’s interviewing a roommate candidate, she thinks it’s a really odd date. Sparks eventually fly, and she finally remembers that they’d already met. Year three, they get their happy ending.
I didn’t love that the MMC’s social aversions were repeatedly labeled as him being shy/awkward/aloof but that he was a “nice guy”. It just felt repetitive and reductive.
Both the narrators were fantastic and influenced me listen to this audiobook.

This book was so good and super cute! I loved Cade and Nora’s romance. I just wished it was a little longer and I wished it had more dirty scenes. Other than that it was a super cute novella!

1) the narrators EAT this was excellent!!!!
2) you can absolutely never go wrong with lana and i will read every single thing she writes until the end of time. she packed so many cute moments into this novella and i sat and listened to it in one sitting. i’m obsessed with the way she writes banter, chemistry. and ofc the steamiest moments as well 🤭
